choppy video playback-computer question
You people can say all you want and agree with Glenn, which is the obvious thing for you people to do. When and if LBH gets this problem fixed, he should come in and tell everyone what the issue was with his computer.

Let see a show of hands
I would like to qualify for the FLW Tour but reality says I won't have a chance because of the money issues.

Ike will be riding in a BASS CAT next year.....
Does anyone really purchase a boat because of the Professional fisherman that is endorsing that product? I would venture to guess that people do research on the boats for themselves. Maybe this Bass Cat move will bring a couple people into their boats, but I do not see this impacting the top boat makers. This move will make people look at the boats online, maybe, but when it comes down to it at the end, I think they will go with the Ranger, Tritons, Skeeters, Stratos and Nitro's of the world. It may even turn fishermen off of Bass Cat because they can't stand Ike's personality.

So, What Did You Get For Christmas?
I received a Falcon Cara Reaction rod "Swim Jig Special" 7'2" Medium-Heavy (ccb-5-172sj) from my mother. I received a Quantum Energy PT "Burner" baitcaster reel. I received 3 Falcon tackle organizers, FTO703, FTO707, FTO501. Then I received about 8 "the original chatterbaits" in different colors. Everything I asked for except for a Stearns Inflatible PFD

fishing line
This doesn't make sense. You had red to a bait to attract gamefish because they think it's blood or whatever coming from the injured fish/bait. I'm assuming that means this red is very visible to the fish. Then when it comes to fishing line, the object is usually to make the line INvisible in the water while working your bait back to the boat. So explain to me why you would use a visible color like red for your fishing line? I just don't understand this concept.

choppy video playback-computer question
Glenn, I also have the A+ certificate and I'm a Certified Novell Administrator. I wasn't saying the things you said weren't a great starting point. I just have a strong suspicion that he has low memory issues from all the video files on his computer. I'm sure the computer wasn't bought in the first place to operate possibly hundreds of videos. Those videos usually require a lot of memory to run properly. The issue could be his car. It could be his house. It could be because of the tree in his front yard. It could be because of the trash company that he uses. It could be because he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. The point is, I'm sure Low_budget knows his way around the computer. Usually when you help out a novice, you tell them to check cords, check this and check that. Sorry if I skipped the simple steps. I like fixing the problem from the beginning. AND MY GOD, MY DOG IS REALLY ANNOYING ME RIGHT NOW. He must think I'm holding a X-mas present from him.

Looking for a "Burner" reel, which one???
I just got the Quantum Energy PT baitcaster "Burner". I hope it works as great as it feels. It will be collecting dust for the next 3 months.

Why the Pros don't use nets
15 feet from the boat? Holy turd, do you realize how long that is. No way were guys using nets that were 15 feet long. My longest rod is 7'2" and the pole on my net is just over half that length. Also, I don't think B.A.S.S. ever allowed nets. It's just been there thing not to have nets because they claim it takes more skill to "hoist & slam".
-
Fare or Fair ?
Whatever B.A.S.S. says, you gotta take it with a grain of salt. I have no respect for what ESPN is doing for B.A.S.S.. I wasn't at the wildcard, so I can't really comment, but I can't imagine how Velvick made it in the Series again next season. The guy doesn't even make the Classic, but he qualified for the '07 Elite Series. Strange. I think in a few years, the Elite Series will vanish. I think the entry fees will kill that Series. The bottom feeders should just donate there money to the KVD's, Ike's and Clunn's of the world. It's usually always the same guys in the top 50 money. I believe Velvick made the top 50 once this whole season. Yeah, he's a worthy qualifier.

Your # 1 rod choice
How old of a company is Airrus? Would a new fishing rod company offer lifetime warranties to get people interested in their rods and then in a couple years, change things.

choppy video playback-computer question
Glenn, I said what I did because I went to school for computers. I got right to the point, the things you listed are great starting out points but I think the real issue is the memory.

Cali Hawg Hunters vs Regular Bass Fisherman
Of this rare breed, how often do they go home empty handed? I'm guessing in an overall preformance on the water, the tournament guy has more success with getting what he wanted out of the trip. I'm thinking the hawg hunters are more of a hit and miss type fisherman, where they will and can go days on end without catching even a fish because they only target the big boys. I have no hard evidence of anything I said. It's just my opinion and feel free to correct me, thats why I speak here, to get corrected on issues I don't relate too. Just speaking my mind.

Cali Hawg Hunters vs Regular Bass Fisherman
Nice post mattlures. I enjoyed everything until you started talking about hunting. ha ha Just a little fact. Our largemouth record got set last fall '05 by a tournament angler, Mark Raveling. he was not fishing in a tournament though. He got a 8lb 15oz pig. Got it on a buzzbait. I want the smallmouth record for Minnesota and Wisconsin. I'll go after it in '07. I want to get my hands on the 7" Triple Trout bait.

Re: Biosonix? Looking at getting one.
Exactly like the Aqua-Vu camara's are banned during competition. So I'm not sure why this would shock you that a gadget like the BioSonix would be banned. Got this from another site...I knew I heard it was banned someplace. "In an effort to level the playing field for all competitors, BASS disallowed the BSX at the '06 Classic at Florida's Lake Toho on the premise that not all anglers had access to the units. There are no restrictions on their use in the Bassmaster Elite Series, however, and anglers employing them have compiled a hefty share of the wins and high placements." Another fact about it from the same website. "A BASS communications official said this week that the BSX will be banned at the 2007 Classic in Birmingham, Ala., but will be allowed on the '07 Elite Series. Requests for comment from FLW Outdoors regarding its use in FLW Tour and Series events have gone unfulfilled."

choppy video playback-computer question
It means you don't have enough memory on your computer. Purchase a bigger memory stick. Might need to take it in to get it installed. They are cheap, should be a fix for under $100. With all the videos on your computer, you ran out of memory to operate those videos correctly. Memory issues is always the answer to those questions. If you don't want to pay money, then go through your computer and delete huge files that you don't need/use. I bet that will fix any issues you have with your computer running from your hard drive. Online videos are different because it doesn't use your hard drive to run them.

Cali Hawg Hunters vs Regular Bass Fisherman
Captain Cali, My point was, catch a trophy in each state. World Record or not. I think it would be a bigger feat to travel the U.S. and catch the trophy/state record from different states. Would give these trophy hunters more "fish cred" if they traveled around, taking records from most states. That really means they know how to catch the monsters, instead of fishing the same waters and same spots day after day. Again, please don't take this post the wrong way.
-
Cali Hawg Hunters vs Regular Bass Fisherman
MattLures, Good post but if these trophy hunters were so great why don't they travel around the country to different lakes and try to catch the state records. In my books, that would make them real Trophy Hunters instead of just fishing 10-15 lakes a year and fishing in tournaments that are on these same lakes. I respect all fishermen, so don't take this the wrong way. I just think you're giving them too much credit. Tell this Mike Long to come up to Minnesota and pluck the state record from one of our lakes. I can almost promise you, it wouldn't happen. Does he have a great ability, sure, on lakes that he knows well. Again, I'm not bashing anyone.

I killed the bait monkey
Original cost for that is what? I'm too lazy to look it up.

Cali Hawg Hunters vs Regular Bass Fisherman
I understand what your trying to say Needemp. These so called Cali Hawg Hunters aren't seen in the bass tournament world, just like the bass tournament guys aren't seen going for the Hawg's, like the die-hards do. However, to say that they are not real bass fishermen is wrong. I'm sure they only go out on specific days according to the weather, making the day's they go hawg hunter are the ideal conditions. Whereas bass tournament guys have to grind it out and entice the bass to bite during a cold front. Their fishing philosophies are different but they are real bass fishermen.

History of this site?
Who started this site? When did it begin? Is there a location that has all this info for me to read? I'd like to know how the idea of this site came along, because there are members from all over the country and that is truely amazing that a single bass fishing site can draw this many talented fishermen.
