  1. Just highlighted the more well known professionals. No rhyme or reason for it other than that.
  2. cbfishalot, good questions, I was thinking the same.
  3. Like hockey skates? or rollerblades?
  4. I personally can't stand the show but others might like it. The guy isn't the Elite Series Aaron Marten's. It's Aaron Martin. Different spelling. Might even by part of Rowland Martin's family, I'm not sure.
  5. If you watch Versus (formely OLN) you should record Anglers Edge with Al Lindner. The guy is amazing and it's usually a different show every week. He actually teaches you techniques and where to use each. It's a must watch.
  6. If you ever make it to Minnesota, look me up and we will go smallie fishing on the St. Croix River. One catch, you must bring the boat.
  7. FULL FIELD OF 50 SET FOR BASSMASTER CLASSIC The full field is now set for professional bass fishing's most prestigious event, the 37th Bassmaster Classic, scheduled for Feb. 23-25 on Lay Lake near Birmingham, Ala. Fifty of the world's top bass anglers have earned their way into the Bassmaster Classic and will fish for a $500,000 first prize, a piece of the $1.2 million total payout. Most of the anglers qualified for the event based on their stellar performance in the Bassmaster Elite Series' 2006 season. Seven bass anglers earned Classic spots this month. Six anglers qualified through the BASS Federation Nation National Championship tournament, Jan. 17-19, in Gadsden, Ala on Lake Neely Henry. On Saturday, Russell Colwell of Baltimore, Md., won the ESPN Outdoors Bassmaster Series Championship in Guntersville, Ala., clinching the final spot. This group of anglers will write another page in BASS' prestigious history, said Trip Weldon, BASS tournament director. Birmingham provides a fantastic venue for the best anglers in the world. Under BASS rules, Lay Lake is off limits to Bassmaster Classic participants until the three-day pre-fish period, Feb. 13-15. After that, anglers will again have to stay away from the fishery until the official practice day, Feb. 21. Competition begins Feb 23. Take-off each morning is 7 a.m. from Paradise Point Marina near Columbiana, Ala. The daily Bassmaster Classic festivities, featuring the weigh-in of the 50 competitors, will begin at 3:00 p.m. Feb. 23-25 at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center. 2007 Bassmaster Classic Contenders 1. 8. RUSSELL COLWELL QUALIFIES FOR BASSMASTER CLASSIC; WINS BASSMASTER SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP Colwell 50th and Final Qualifier for the 2007 Classic GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. Trailing by more than 11 pounds heading into the final day of competition, Baltimore, Md., angler Russell Colwell figured he needed some good luck to win the ESPN Outdoors Bassmaster Series Championship on Alabama's Lake Guntersville. On Saturday, the 48-year-old knew fortune was with him when his final-day weight of 16 pounds, 2 ounces, was enough to claim the champion's most coveted prize, a 2007 Bassmaster Classic berth. Colwell finished with 48 pounds, 15 ounces in the three-day tournament, more than 1 pound ahead of Oklahoma's Todd Lee. Colwell earned a $100,000 grand prize and guaranteed entry into the Bassmaster Open division of his choice. But most important to Colwell was qualifying for the Classic, Feb. 23-25, on Lay Lake out of Birmingham, Ala. I'm going to the Classic, Colwell screamed to reporters after he found out he won. I have had bad luck fishing tournaments all my life, but today I had more than enough good luck. It almost didn't happen for Colwell. When he checked in his catch with BASS officials, it appeared at first that the BASS life member indeed was plagued by bad luck. He had brought in six fish, one more than the tournament limit of five. Under BASS rules, Colwell lost the weight of the heaviest fish, but was allowed to get in line to weigh-in the remaining five. Colwell later said he estimated that the dropped fish weighed nearly 6 pounds, and that as he waited for the outcome, he felt that he could not overtake Friday leader Lee. But Colwell triumphed despite his mistake of not accurately tracking the number of fish in his livewell. If I would not have won this tournament because of not counting correctly, I'm not sure what I would have done, said Colwell, owner of a construction business in Baltimore. Prompted to make a strategy change on Saturday because of a drop in the water temperature, Colwell followed the advice of his non-boater partner, Tony Impellizzeri of Michigan, who had been randomly paired with Colwell. They went to the spot Impellizzeri recommended, and that's where Colwell landed the majority of his bass. In what Colwell called a 20-minute magical stretch, he worked a Lucky Craft jerkbait on a main lake point along the shoreline just minutes from the tournament launch location. He caught all of his fish by 10:30 a.m., and despite not getting another bite all day, he held off Lee, who on Saturday caught only one fish that weighed 3 pounds. It's tough to put down a bait that you caught more than 30 pounds on the day before, said Lee of the jerkbait he stuck with on Saturday. I thought I needed 20 pounds to win today, but clearly I underestimated. Going into the final day, Lee led the tournament with a cushion of more than seven pounds, but he's not giving up: I promise you will see me back next year on this circuit, he said. Rounding out the top five were Tulsa, Okla., angler Bobby Myers, who placed third with 44 pounds, 15 ounces; 2006 ESPN Outdoors Bassmaster Series champion Jeff Coble (41-14); and Texan James Elliott (41-11).
  9. They lay there eggs on or near rocks because they heat up from the sun better than the water does.
  10. Thats normal for smallmouth, thats the depths that they spawn at. They don't go as shallow usually as largemouth. That's why 6-8' sand-gravel flats are perfect to hookup with a spawning smallmouth.
  11. I've used polarized Oakley Juliets for the past 3 years while fishing in bass tournaments. I love the things. I bought the orange lens and if I were to get another pair of polarized lenses, I would go with the grey/black lens because it's suppose to work better for on the water activities, but I'll still take my orange lenses with chrome frame. I think they were around $350 new.
  12. Can't you just take it out of the money they gave you? I would say if it's a small amount that you received, have them pay for it, but if they gave you a lot of money, just pay for it yourself. Have them pay for all the embroidery, cuz that can get spendy.
  13. You didn't have to give a credit card # did you? Go to this page to sign up everyone...should be fun. http://www.flwoutdoors.com/apps/fishingChallenge/register.cfm
  14. If you NEVER had a line break and the knot failures are due to your lack of doing your job tying them. Why would you experiment with another line?
  15. I was thinking the same thing. These two seem to wait for the next great thing to come out of Bush's mouth. It's too bad they will be waiting a long time. If Bush is so hell-bent on getting rid of dangerous people, why doesn't he invade North Korea? You wanna know why? BECAUSE WE WOULD GET DESTROYED BY THEM. Bush is fighting the weak right now. We have no reason to be in Iraq. Weren't we suppose to be in Aphganistan anyways?
  16. it does not take a credit card number..what the heck are you talking about. it's all free and they ask for nothing.
  17. Mid-MO, I've used Sufix the past 2 years and I love the stuff. If you are looking for a tough mono line that you will use in rocks or wood, go with the Sufix Siege. If you want a nice mono cranking line use the Sufix Elite line. Siege is more for using in cover. Elite is more a structure fishing mono line.
  18. Water test it before you purchase it. Also, make sure you stand on both front and back decks to make sure there are no weak spots. Just go over everything and be sure everything works properly, and if it doesn't, start deducting the price of the boat.
  19. I believe you shouldn't use Windex on LCD screens. I think they will ruin them real quick. Like the guy above me said, go to best buy or some computer store and get a LCD cleaner.
  20. I've experienced a big delay in page loadings also lately. The past month or so has been an issue. I also have comcast internet and all other pages from other sites load normally, but BR is struggling.
  21. I know nothing about rod building but I've seen a few places where people don't even use color preserver.
  22. Troutfisher, you really believe the things that comes from the Bush offices? We invaded Iraq because Bush & Company made everyone believe that they had WMD and he was wrong. He even admited it. Can't wait for Bush to be gone in 2 more years... 2 more year, 2 more years. Maybe we should get this topic talking about gas prices again... gas here in the Twin Cities, Minnesota is $1.83
  23. What do the boats look like in the future? I might wait til 2060 like you.
  24. Oh, I see, I haven't had the honor of ordering a brand new custom boat from a factory yet, so I'm new to this stuff.
  25. The trailer should be level or above level by up to 3 inches with a full load on your truck's suspension. Try to avoid the trailer pointing down or below level.
