the pennants are in view the trash is flying 2007
I just got back from St. Louis. It was a great weekend even though the cards lost both of the games i went to against the Angels. It was the second time i had been to the new stadium and i like it much better now that the dissappointment of losing the old one is gone.

I went to the Smoltz vs. Glavine game on Thursday. It was a great game. Smoltz got his 200th win so I saw history. I think that win puts him into the Hall. As for the Cardinals, ummmm..... when is carp coming back? If the cards could just hang on until July when Mulder comes back they could be OK but Carp isnt coming back until August so it isnt lookin good. If the cards could be at .500 at the start of August they would be in striking distance because I dont think the Brewers will continue to dominate. We still are the champs.

for all you Conan O'Brien watchers
That was the first song I have ever liked that had a banjo in it. They did a great job. Conan seemed genuinely impressed by their performance.

DEI and JR split
As many of you know, Dale Jr. is leaving DEI next year to a new race team. This move is a monumental one for NASCAR. As ESPN has been saying, he is the biggest free agent in sports history. I think Theresa Earnhardt and DEI has really dropped the ball on this one. Their cars havent been near the best for the past three years and they now lose the most popular driver in the sport. DEI may now be a sinking ship. I have heard talk that it is likely that Truex jr. will also leave DEI. I believe the only hope for DEI now is to merge with Robert Yates Racing because Paul Menard is not a championship driver. Being a JR fan, I am glad he left. The only way DEI would get better would be for Jr to run the company. Now he gets to go to a team where he can win more races and hopefully a few championships so i am a big fan of this move. What are your thoughts on this guys?

Craptastic Trip.....
Sorry for your loss bucketmouth. I have never lost anything that was $200 but i can imagine how it feels. It sounds like you have had a terrible week but i would get back out there because it can only get better from here. I dont know what is wrong with some people. Pickin fights with one of the more respected members on here. If you guys dont have anything nice or helpful to say, you dont have to post anything about it. It did not sound like he was asking for free equipment, it sounded like he just needed to vent and knew the people here would listen and maybe make him feel a little bit better. Some of those comments are uncalled for.

When i went to the mets vs. braves game this year, i saw 3 fights or their aftermaths. This rivalry is definitely heating up.

Dear Yankee fans...
Well if you look back at recent history, I think buying a series has had decent results- 4 world series titles since '96. I only saw Boston on that list one time in about 90 years, do I need glasses? All in fun, Muddy! EXACTLY!!!! Thanks for bringing this into the proper and correct historical prospective......Keith, you are a gentleman and a scholar Well I have a question for you guys. What team has won the most world series in the last year??? That team would be the St Louis Cardinals. That is all that really matters since this season isnt going to count since Carp is injured and we are already done. But anyways, the yanks signing clemens is going to help them a lot but only every 5th day. Who is still gonna pitch between then. Wang is way overrated and Petite's best years are far behind him. And I cant even name the other two guys that pitch for them that arent injured. Clemens is great but he is old and so are his legs. I dont think that will be a problem though until the playoffs. I am already sick of this story and it is just beginning. It is way overhyped and overpublicized just like Dice-K. You may say he is a hof pitcher but he isnt anymore. You dont even know how he is going to pitch yet. The Yanks are ruining baseball with the money they spend. I have never been a fan of the salary cap but now i think it is a must. Brian Cashman might be one of the worst GM's in the league. He has 3 world series championships under his belt but that was not his team. He became GM in 1998 and they won the WS in 98, 99, and 00. That was the previous GM's team. Then he started spending money and messed up the team. They have not won a World Series since 2000. In that time The Cards and Sox have both won WS. The Yanks have been to two since then and lost to the Marlins who's Salary was virtually nothing compared to the Yankees. In the 90's the yanks spent a lot of money but nothing compared to what they have now. And the last time they won a world series was 2000. So it has been 7 years since they won the world series. Yeah, that sounds like buying the WS is workin good. You love Arod now but wait till Mr. April reaches October.

Looks like a 2-man show in the NL East this year. That is kinda what i was expecting. I just dont think the other teams in the east are as solid all-around as the braves and mets.

Last year, Albert was on pace to hit 100hrs for a while and he was supposed to hit about 80 through may. He of course got injured and only hit 49. A-Rod is even hotter than Albert was. He is going crazy. I think he will hit just under 60hr this year. All the analyst are worried about Albert not hitting early in the season because he did so great last year early. I am not worried because the year before he started off terrible and ended up with a good season. Cards won yesterday against the cubbies. Looper gave up only 1 run and Preston Wilson hit a 2 run hr to win 2-1.

That was SICK!!! No catcher has a better arm than him. Looper was solid. He has been a better starter than reliever. I know it is still a while away but when mulder comes back (healthy i hope) who get the boot out of the rotation. Before the season started it was a no brainer, Looper. But with the way he is pitching you can really use him. This is assuming carp comes back soon. I think Reyes has pitched the worst so far but he has been ok. I really hope those two hrs he hit means he is coming out of his slump. He still did chase some pitches yesterday. I think Duncan will hit 35hrs this year which is good because rolen and edmonds are no longer those type of players. Thats never good when you have 3 sp on the DL. I think we are now seeing those big Free Agent yankee aquisitions hitting the end of their contracts and passing the prime of their career.

And my boy, JD Drew breaks up the no-no. Great outing by Hernandez who is absoulutely sick. This start may make him known nation wide. He was like what 19 when he came to the league. He has nasty stuff and the potential to be one of the top aces in the game. He is well on his way. Dice who?
