Why A Drop Shot?
I cast a drop shot rig with a 1/4 oz. weight and shake it in place as I very slowly work it back in 6-8 inch pulls. I usually put the bait about 24" above the weight because with the " angle of the dangle" would put the bait about 12" above the bottom. It works for me in the really clear lakes in northern Wisconsin. Lm and smallies.

Baitcaster Or Spinning Rod
Pinoy: You only use a fork for spaghetti ? What a clutz. You need a spoon too. Pick it up with the fork and then roll it on a spoon so it becomes a tight little ball. That way you don't get all that red sauce running down your chin and on that $100 tie..LOL

Got Snow?
Same here in Green Bay Lund. We have about 3" on the ground and about 12" so far this winter. Such a difference from last year when I ran out of places to put it about this time. My 2 stage snow blower couldn't blow it over the banks next to the driveway. I burned 8 gal. of gas in my blower last year, this year I don't think I've used a quart.

What Hooks Do You Use?
With all the $ I have invested bass fishing, why would I use anything but the best hooks? Mostly Owner, Gammy, Trokar. Yep, $1.00 plus for a hook is insane but spending $ $15 for a jerkbait or $100 plus for a swim bait is way more insane. The hook is what catches the fish,, not the rod or reel or line. Just my opinion.

Line Color?
There have quite a few threads on here in the last month or so re: braid. I don't recall the OP headline but it was about Fireline. I believe the most popular opinion was " there are many better". If I recall right, I think PP won hands down although there were a whole lot of other opinions.

Pros Top Secret
I have about 100 terminator jigs purchased over the years, I have never heard of a pro " top secret jig". Were they sold to the public or just to pros? I have no idea what you are referring to. Please enlighten me. Maybe I have a bunch....

Winter Sucks
Winter has always sucked. Problem is that most of us bassfisherguys north of the Mason-Dixon line forget about the 1'st of May that our brains have been frozen solid since Nov. Then the trees get green, the ice is gone, someone next door throws a steak on the grill, the stack of bait monkey dung that we purchased in Feb. is waiting to be used and we ( because our brain is still a little bit frozen and will be until it hits 90 in the shade in July) say hey," lets go fishing" We haul all that dung out to the boat that we paid $500 to store since Nov. and shove off. Most of us have a good enough summer to keep the bass fishing fires burning and then, low and behold, "Is it really November again" Rinse and repeat until you die. Why, you ask would a yankee keep doing this? For one of two reasons, ie: either our brains really don't thaw in the summer or we love it up here and wouldn't change a thing.

Siebert Jig Heads
ChrisWI: Just tap the Siebert Outdoors link on the right of the page. There is a message prompt. Ask him all of your questions and give him the chance to answer them. I promise you won't be sorry. In you OP and title you did use Siebert and I think that confused some people when they were really trying to help you. Then you became angry because we didn't know that you might be looking at other suppliers too. Give Siebert a try, I'm sure he knows a lot more about what you are looking for than most of us on BR.

If We Could Only Have One Moderator...
Raider, the ladle will forever haunt you and it darn well should. "chased out of a restaurant by a guy with a ladle" You admitted it, you put it right here on BR. It will always be out there in the la la land of the webs. Live with it. Accept it. Own it.

New Crankbaits
Great job. Are some of those details wood burned in the first picture? When do you find time to work? I can't comprehend how many hours you have in those baits. Really nice.

How Much Money Do You Spend On Fishing Licenses Anually
Last year: Wisconsin senior annual, $7.00, Alabama non resident annual I think was $55.00, Michigan non resident annual was $75.00. Launch fee totals probably more than the license fees. I fish a lot of National Forest lakes and the daily fee is $5.00, Local (Green Bay) annual is $40.00. County fees in the area I fish on the Mississippi River is $40.00 annual ( there are a lot of free boat ramps on the Mississippi but the distances make it worthwhile to pull your boat rather than run 10-15 miles) State Park boat launch fee's are $25.00 annual in Wi. Toss in an a few $3-$5 fees on other county parks and you have a bit invested. At least the bait chimp didn't get that money.

Favorite Lure To Use-
If I wanted to name my favorite way to fish, it would be a Texas rigged soft plastic. If I had to be really honest about how I catch the bulk of my fish it would a wackey rigged senko.

Winter Blues Causes Binge Tackle Buying
Is it winter? I don't even know. I look outside, shiver and head to my man cave. I haven't been outside since I put my boat away in Nov. My wife picks up a bottle of sippin whiskey and a box of cigars once a week and I usually run out before her next trip. I have a 2 week trip to Guntersville scheduled for late March but my liver and lungs may be done by then. I have an order in waiting (have to push the order button) at BPS, Cabellas, Tackle Warehouse, Sebert Outdoors, and GYBC. However my wife of 45 years, reminded me the taxes and insurance are due on our home and cottage. What a spoilsport. I guess I'll just hang on BR and Lake-Link and abuse my body until the water gets soft. Then, I will abuse my body until the water gets hard again. What a cycle we bassfisherguys live through. I really, really caught a bass once. I think.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Slimshad, Those are really great. I have a 1990's era wiggle wart that is very close to that color and it really catches fish. Also you have a couple of #200 Bandits in that mix. To me the Bandit is the most underrated lure for the money.

My First Bass Boat
Put the oil in first and then make sure you add the exact amount of gas to oil ratio. Mixes the oil when you do that too. It's a pain in the butt if you want to fill the tank and don't know how much the tank will hold.
