  1. You can buy a cheap postal scale for about $7-8 bucks at an office supply store. No formula needed. I think they go up to 30z.
  2. Mix that with coke or mt duew and you gotcha sum fine drinkin stuff
  3. P-line Cxx. Great price and great strength to diameter ratio.
  4. My probable answer would be yes, no, maybe, absatootly, and I guess so. But don't take my word for it, I'm just a dumb ole fisherman. I don't know from squat.
  5. Sam, I agree with you on Bandit cranks. I would say that roughly 1/2 of my 300+ cranks are Bandits, 100, 200, 300 and 400 series and probably 20+ colors, They always run true out of the box, good hooks and hardware and at 5 bucks a pop, a really great lure,
  6. PM me and over the next few months I will fill you in on pools 9-10. It would take a book to cover it in one post. If you look at my header, my favorite water is 9-10 and I have fished for bass all over the country. I have spent thousands of hours on 9-10 over the last 15+ years ( I'm retired) and have a pretty good working knowledge of the area. If you are interested, drop me a line and we can have fun with it.
  7. And you should get partial credit because it should read " Maybe your just better at spelling and grammar "than" they are. " than" not " then"
  8. " You don't need all those rods, just pick one and put on a texas rigged pumpkin lizard and chuck it in the buck brush." Heard at a boat landing on Rayburn a few years ago. From a guy who had 20 rods on his deck and as far as I could see, no pumpkin lizard.
  9. Every "blow up" I have ever had in my 50 plus years of fishing has been with guys fishing in a tourney. Don't get me wrong, most fishermen will respect your water. But with all the different levels of tournament fishing and the desire to advance, the culture has changed. My last contact with a tourney fisherman came last summer on pool#9 on the Mississippi. I was fishing a narrow channel,(75 ft.) and had a bass boat come within 10 feet of me, wide open. Stopped 100 feet In front of me, dropped his trolling motor and trolled back to me. Asked if I would move because he had caught some "nice ones" pre fishing there. Normally I would have honored his request, but when I asked him why he came by me so fast and close his answer was " because I'm fishing for money and your just fishing for fun" Not the right answer. I spent a lot of money to get there. He left, I stayed there all day and caught some nice fish. Be nice to your fellow fisherman.
  10. I have used P-line cxx for many years on my crank and spinner bait reels. As said by one of the Mods, the strength to diameter ratio is second to none . Cxx is my go-to.
  11. Look at a 280 Remington. Many more loading options for that .284 bullet with a 30-06 case.
  12. Well in that case, "kiss my bass"
  13. One day at "band camp"
  14. Well, I know nothing about that lake, but that was a really well written essay. Good luck in your endeavor.
  15. Tongs, ladles, snail forks, lobster crackers, finger bowls, cocktail napkins, a cork screw, too many forks, a wine bucket, a salad plate, a wine glass that is not red plastic ,a wine bottle that has a real cork not a screw top, and a real/ not paper napkin. A wine steward, a smoking hot hostess/waitress, and really good food. What could go wrong? Only in the Raider Nation. I hope you biych slapped the dingle berry and enjoyed your meal.
  16. Anyone remember a guy named Bart Starr? 3 NFL championships in a row, first 2 Superbowls and longest string of completed passes without an int. Pretty good numbers for a 17th. round draft pick.
  17. Did I read that AOY report right. 53rd. place which means he will not be in the AOY championship in Escanaba Mi. or the Classic next year? Wow.
  18. That one went way over DEAK's head
  19. If there is a larger body of water "close by" and you know that "people fish it" Then I would believe that this pond has been fished. If there are no sign of activity around the pond I would suspect that there is no viable fish population. I could be wrong so give it a try. However, with no sign of other fisherman around the pond I would doubt it. Good luck, you may have found a sleeper.
  20. I am 100% retired and usually have no place to go in a hurry. I was a salesman for 40 years and put on 35k-40k miles a year. The biggest change I saw the last few years before I retired (6 years ago) was the distracted driving due to cell phones. Now we have texting too. I let em go by me and also catch hell from my wife for it. I set the cruse at 65 and let em rip.
  21. Did you teach her to "reel down" before trying to set the hook?
  22. Do you swear that the testimony you are about to give as true is false? Where were you an the day of the night before? I wonder don't you?
  23. Just go fishing and let the chips fall. What happens ?
  24. Iffin I could, I would, but I can't, so I won't
  25. Well, I have already caught the biggest bass of my life. A 7-3 LM on Toho and a 6-9 SM on Green Bay. I guess I'll just keep on keeping on and see what happens.
