I started with PP and never found a reason to change. I bought a spool of Sufix 5-6 years ago and it's still on my work bench. I've been that happy with PP. I guess I'm just too old to mess with success.

Don't forget, CXX may be rated at 15lb. but the breaking point is 20+. My favorite cranking line.

Bandit, had squarebills back in the 90's. The 100 series bandit is a shallow running squarebill. There may have been others that I don't remember.

I have 8 Premiers a Mojo and a Rage. I love the full cork handles on the Premiers. The Mojo is OK but I totally don't like the Rage. Couldn't even tell you why really. My vote, Premier.

I have enjoyed trying to learn all aspects of bass fishing. My favorite is TR plastics and least favorite is jig and pig so, I try to spend at least a little time each trip with a jig. That being said, trying to be a well rounded bass fisherman allows me to do what I do best,which is to keep the bait monkey well fed and my boat slowly sinking with the weight of my must have new lures. What's new this year you all think I need to try ?

There is a huge difference between #10 in the spring and fall. The fish in the fall are much easier to pattern. Look for the shad and catch fish. In the spring the water will most likely be at or above flood stage and the fish will be scattered everywhere.Your best bet would be to look to the backwaters away from the strong river current and use search baits like a spinnerbait, lipless crank or wide wobble cranks like a wiggle wart. If you find a pocket of fish you will be lucky. It's usually a fish here and there.

I guess I will always be stuck on Shimano. I have 8 Bantam 101s I purchased between "98 and '06. Two stradic 100s from the late 90's, 1 stradic 4000 from the same era and 3 stradic . 2500's from 2006. All have been cleaned and lubed each winter by me and not one has ever seen a repair shop. I have fished between 50and 100 times a year for a long time and my Shimano's have never once failed me. I am a member of the Shimano gang.

I have 7 grandkids from 9 down to 4. Each of them walked up to me and gave me a hug and a $25 Bass Pro gift card. The hugs were far more important.
