  1. yea i noticed the breeze thing, but i was recommended braid, if i had experiance with the giants bow in my line i reseive yesterday i would be sticking to mono or fluro straight. Also for a stained pond they sure do tear em up, it usally on the fall or twitch though.. also why such a high lb test, the biggest bass in this pond is maybe 2 lbs, i have a ton of 8lb left on a spool that wont fill up another reel, just lying around
  2. i have my weightless sit up, mainly wacky. it is a M- XF falcon hd with a okuma trio 30, i have 10 lb fireline fused, i fished stained ponds and the strike is always a slam with a stick bait. anyway i fished today and only caught one, of-course it could be sucky fishig but it got me thinking do i need a fluro leader and what lb. also how long the leader if needed
  3. so dicks had a clearance sale and i had a few coupons so i ended up getting some havoc on sale and picked up one of those kits with a lil bit of eatch, for like 5 bux.. any way pit boss and devil spear all the way, the grass pig may be a nice one with more fishing. i fish shakey alot so the new larry nixon may be good to. but i have no clue on the craw fatty, the other craw, also have a weird type creature by skeet reese, not sure the name. Anyway what your fav and what how do ya rig and fish..
  4. yea i have other more "better" reels, but still pick up my PQ over them,
  5. do they have a differant action? I know there are strike king cranks kvd strike kings then the pro model strike kings, i thought the pro had the mustad hooks on it. its funny kvd endorses changing hooks cause most baits hooks are bad. yet his brand cranks dont come with the triple grips
  6. they are about the same, the veritas may be a bit more, but i would go with it, i have handled the juniper aswell, nice rod but i would just get the veristas
  7. never had an high end pinncle but i own a smoke, depends on price, i have reall started liking the okuma baticasters
  8. shimano 7'2 compre H with quantium 7:3 smoke, 50 lb PP braid, like sex on a stick
  9. yea may help if croix was registed,i have had chitty days, biut danged if that dont bite it
  10. i want some to, but i beleive they are like 9 buz for like 4, i have some mustads and vmc, that work great
  11. if warm in summer buzzbait, seems all my big buzz hits are before the rain and during on a buzzbait
  12. to me that is 2 differant rods, since i like a 6'6 for top water in a medium action, i like to fee the topwater and feel i have more control with a 6'6, on frog rods if you fish a mess, you will need a heavy or at least a MH, and for frogs i like a 7'3 to 7'4, all that aside i can see you getting away with the leingh for both applications but cant see ya using a heavy rod for topwaters and vice versa for frogs
  13. glad for my olies then, was in there yesterday, and got a penn captivia reel for 15.00 i needed a reel for abu vengence for shakey heads.. i saw on ebay they wee like 30.00 pretty nice reel.. i know Penn makes solid ocean gear.
  14. what is the reason for coffin bills, I live in NC, and i was reading an article about it is a big N-S carolina thing, the boys are using down here. I hear about square bills all the time but not them. also Dicks has put out alot fo jackell baits for sell, the have alot of pumpkin craws,, just wondering if anyone used them for trailers or flipping, i usally see Jackell and they are pretty high.. thanks yall
  15. the last statment is so true, if i can get nothing, i get a green pumpkin/pumkin/june bug senko or dinger, never fails
  16. well i may not be the best at anwsering it, but the bass has to have the bend to explode on the bait pull it down a bit to get it hooked... i am sure there is a better answer but thats how it was explained to me,, 1 rod aint gonna cut it all, but all around you could get the mojo spinner bait 7 foot rod, it is MH fast action. pretty descent all around, i have one for my buzzbaits, but somtimes throw differant stuff aswell
  17. the places i camp always has a bass pond. so i take about 6 rods, take 2 and fish all around, if they dont work wall, go back to the camper, take a break lol, and then take somthing differant
  18. the open are comming to NC soon, are they anything like attending an elite weigh-in, i mean as meeting pros, booths and a bunch of ther stuff, just wonderng if it is worh hanging around
  19. yea i have 2, lol i was a hardcore cat man and still am, they bass and the catfish both have there spurts, i called croix and they said the wildriver was the same blank, i have 2 wild river 8 H, they are nice and have 6600 rockets on them, but to me they are no classic cat, i do have one tidemaster as well, all right..
  20. my oldest combo woulbe be an old abu 6500, trophy on a croix classic cat, old but still sees use
