  1. first ?? is easy, whats the point of using split shot while fishing worms, just for a very light weight? second what do you consider the main factor in carolina rigging, gonna give it the ole collage try again. and i was wondering, is it the barral swivel or the bead. Talked to a guy that uses brass weights but pegs em up his line at any desired lengh. So technically it is a T rigged but pegged about 10 inches above the hook. Would this work, When tried C riggng for a bit i went all out brass egg, usally 1/2 ounce, most times a bead and about a 7 inch leader to my bait. whats your opnion on these?? thank ya
  2. guess i am still a novice then, i figured that it wouldnt be a reaction if it saw a school of fish and had time to realize it broke from the pack, Not saying or even starting a subject on the smartness of a bass, but i when i think reaction i think ripping a cranks, bouncing a spinnebait off a rock, or a topwater going over a bass ticking it off, though again i dont fish or know mutch about the A rig
  3. one day when the water was super clear, i saw it goes out about 5 foot before it drops off an ledge 3 feet, then it is just a slow slant to the deep
  4. i have used the carolina several times, cant get bit on it, i know i am doing it right. thus i hardly use it now with the above info, but maybe i need to throw it more.
  5. snake bit and wrapped around my frog, pulled it up to me and it let loose, dropping to water, just commen water snake
  6. to ask.. havnt been to the lake so i cant vouch or try. I shore fish and usally throw along the shore or to cover. Thinking with crankbaits or really any bait, if the shore has a slope(assume most do) if you throw straight(toward middle of lake, hope U invision that) and pull your bait up to the bank, wont that encourage bites. Second even on clear cloudless days ,if the wind is crazy, creating a major chop in the water, would topwater be good. It can go againest waves creating more brakes and since the wind is making white water, can the fish see the surface good? just a few questions i was pondering
  7. would it mess up the fluro, i need to back it off and put it on my spool, cant offord 2 reels, and dont wanna waste my 15 buck sunline, thanks yall
  8. it fireline fused, guess i could put a fluro leader, and yea crimp the barb is good aswell lol i meant threads, didnt wanna tick people off cause this invalve stick worms
  9. i write all that and you kill it, lol didnt even think of that, when i think octopus, i think catfishing and didnt think it would work for bass
  10. first in the pond i fish, i slay em wacky, though out of every 5, one is down their throat, its that soft puffy part, usally if ya pull, they bleed out the gill. i know countless threats have been made and when am fishing the lake, i never have this problem, but what is yalls go to hook for this type, i have tried, gama split shot/drop shot in 1/0 and the finesse wide gap 1/0, all the same results, is it just somthing i will have to live with? big pond but if every 5th fish dies, as mutch as i fish it, i could deplete it lol, about 100% sure it cant be my tactic as i watch line, alotta time when it falls the line doesnt jump at all. I assume it falls in front of them and they pick it up, not moving at all. idk.. also should i keep a little thing of peroxide for this, heard it is good for applications like this ps. if i move up a size in the hook, it almost like the turn off
  11. i have seen 3 hooks go all the way through in my life, thank God my hand wasnt part of it, so call me paranoid but if i fishing a crank or treble lure, if i swing em in the boat or at least get close so i had a fight, I am a bit releived. yea ya call me a wuss.

great thread, i set my hook on everything, fishing from the shore it is hard to get a hit, gotta watch the, line, The harf part for me is when it seems to fall right in front of them the take it and do nothing, thats hard for me, no knowing the deph of the water, and not sure if my bait has fallen... i think jigs are the hardest of the artificial bait to use
  13. hey PQ is good, but i have and okuma citrix and a krios, 7:3 they are super fast and are great for topwater, you can get em 80-100 or cheaper on ebay

dark colors, any spinner or buzz, in black-purple-red, as well with topwter, heard alot of people using those big jelly worms at night, in summer bass are active allnight.
  15. 3 is all i take on the shore, in one trip, i leave a few more in the car, but id say 4, though id choose more baticasting over spinning, to me a 7MH, a 6'6M, a 7'4 H and a 6'6 M spinning i would say is somtihng id take, but you said you have 3 spinning.. if you do plan to buy mor tackle, save up and get descent stuff, not telling you to save for a g loomis and smoke, lol but dont get excited by wanting a combo and run out to get one to do you.. when i first started i got a few graphit side plate reels, now i dont catch em all the time but i fish all the time, and the did not last.. sorry to be long winded
  16. guy sold under me, ohwell but hey with yalls comment, i guess i could pick one up, the are like 20 at walmart
  17. yea went to the opens today and alot of people were talking about the gas, all of em said NC aint in a recession with all the boats on the water, while they were trying to fish, and yea that is somthing i always think about, i mean the local pros who cant afford to travel more than 40 miles to fish, they could be good at disecting other lakes, just maybe have a money problem..
  18. whats your opnions on this.. not really talking about if the person is using high end geat etc... I am talking about affording the trips, paying for tournaments, and cost of living in general. I know a few local boys that fish the weekly tournaments and smoke em alot, they are what you would call lower middle class. It got me thinking this. Not really knowing were this will go, but i want yalls opnions, if you are starting out, do think you gotta have somewhat of a descent amount to fish. I am not up on sponsers but i figured youd have to catch the eye of them by winning a few pro tours before getting them to give ya cash
  19. thats what i was thinking but my littlest rod is 6'6 not sure if can get over the mental bock lol, guess i couldle roll cast good
  20. i can get one for 10 bucks, what could i do with it,really would like a pistol grip, top waters???
