Lots of walleye guys around here have been using theirs for years and years w/o issues. One of the most bland, boring, and "unsexy" looking reels around but it will perform like the best of them.

I have the H3 7'1 MHXF and would find no issues dragging a 3/8 to 1/2oz jig /w it. I'm one that generally prefers a more powerful rod when throwing most baits but dragging I prefer to stay towards the upper end of a rod. For example, I pitch/flip a 1/2oz jig on an NRX 894 and it is perfect in every way for that but I find it too much rod for dragging 1/2oz football jigs and do so on the 893 instead. I also throw 3/8oz shakey heads, specifically the pumpkin Ed /w that beefy hook, on the H3 and it feels perfect dragging in rocks. I use straight fluoro for everything.

You guys are giving bass way too much credit to be able to distinguish line from grass/weeds...pick a color and roll with it. Its irrelevant.

I either use just a skirt or just a soft plastic. I really find myself using a 5" grub or soft plastic horny toad /lizard more often than not. I rarely mix the two (skirt/plastic) because i have multiples of the same buzzbaits to have either a skirt or soft plastic. Its a pain taking the skirt off cavitrons because the keeper is very good. I keep it very simple with cavitrons. White/gold blade and black/gold blade. 1/4oz and 3/8 depening on the time of year. I use 1/4oz during the dog days of summer and 3/8 during the feed or rising water.

I fish a gold blade 100% of the time. To me, skirt vs soft plastic is more of a determining factor than blade color.

you absolutely do not want the 733. Get the 734 as suggested.
