  1. There been threads with info on pinellas as far as pond hopping. Not reposting. Will say u try the ponds at sawgrass off 62nd between 34 and 9 st.
  2. Guy on another forum got one, he likes his alot. I dunno if he is on this forum or not. Daiwa has made pretty decent rods through all price ranges over the years. Another friend of mine has some of the old Team Daiwa from the 90's and got a T series as they were on clearence to make way for the S.
  3. The old version of the daiwa exceler with mag force z paid 49 and 53 they are great reels
  4. X3 734 is the rod you want. It is a is great all around rod, perfect for mederate cover. IMHO A 733 would be a very light 1/16-1/8 oz to no weight trigs, top waters like pop-r....734 all the way man, spinnerbaits (3/8 to 1/2 are perfection)bigger topwater to trigs and jigs from 1/4 to 3/4 oz weights.
  5. Cool I will check them out next time I am in the store. Thank you
  6. What model? I am looking for a couple rods, one being a flipping stick.
  7. Only thing I would add to this is a spinnerbait white/chart with a gold willow and nickle colorado cover all bases....If you want to go really big up the worm to a 13" gambler or 12" ol monster.
  8. If y'all never shopped academy before they have decent sales, good store brand terminal tackle and spinner baits. The h2o baits are good. Plenty of zoom plastics.
  9. Correct about the XT they replaced it with the purist model and lowered the price to widen it from the supreme. I have a 40 size president XT and love it! Beast of reel.
  10. Got a pflueger 35 and 40. As long as u don't mind the weight they are great reels, solid. Take a look at the daiwa dxi inshore, or falcon coastal xg. If those are too pricey falcon hg or academy has some inshore models. ML will probably be what your looking for. Look for a 7 to 7-6 foot rod. That setup will let you use certain techniques to catch reds/specs like flukes, hollow body swim baits, shrimp under cork. 15-20 braid and I would use a 10-15 pound leader.
  11. My 7 yr old is going on 2yrs of BJJ and yesterday was my 4 yr olds first class. He was dying to roll, like "oooh pick me pick me" lol
  12. The truth and MOST unbiased post in this thread
  13. If you want the best bang for buck go on ebay, amazon or search for the OLD model exceler. They have mag force Z and free floating spool or try to find a good condition TD-Pro. The old excelers can be had 40-50 bucks, but are getting harder to find. The new model exceler they dialed the features and quality down since lexa and tatula moved into the same neighbor hood. The new exceler is more of a laguna level now. Plus the old ones palm much nicer and have a better brake adjustment dial. Believe the diff. between magforce and mag force Z is the ability for the brake rotor to move to adjust in and out depending on the speed of the spool(mag force Z).
  14. There's a few spots up by Hanna the one park on the inland side of a1a is suppose to be stocked.
  15. O's thumping them redbirds! Ouch! Finally caught a suns game saw the only top prospect left throw, nicolino. Rocky start but was solid got out of trouble for six scoreless as we thumped the missippippi braves. Second baseman for sons made some good plays catcher had some clutch hits
  16. It's summer that's expected. Fish slow. Really really slow. There was a spot near there other folks used to fish but I believe they got the boot. Nocatee is close, if u have a kid checkout Davis park. The church pond on the corner is good This time of year hit the beach u got micklers south. Hight tide. No need to cast far hit the depression between the beach and the sand bar. Talk to strike zone sports, the do both bass but really into salt they can't help. Check out bitters bait, vibe worms and fluke style. Right colors.
  17. Boom! ^^^^this right here.....best post on this forum in weeks.
  18. only partly true. Vipers have the vertical pupils, however other venomous snakes like the coral snakes, cobras, etc. have a round pupil. Vertical pupils are usually more of an indication if the snake nocturnal, as there are boas with the same type vertical of pupils. A better indication and one that involves far less closeness to the snake is the head shape. Because the the large venom glands it is typical for the venomous vipers to have a triangle and the colubrids have a rounded head that is almost molded with their body. Or the simplest and best rule since it is a wild snake is the "stay the **** away rule", I live by that one myself. It looks like a brown water snake
  19. Gambler lures, go to their website sign up for news letter get 20% off that covers shipping. They have bulk stick baits, to flukes to frogs to craws to worms. 10 bucks a pop(count varies by plastics size/weight) can't be beat IMO scented and ready to go!
  20. Caught the sox/yanks last night the gm for y'all sounds like a smart dude and has a plan. Too bad bucholz game away the leader four times in five innings
  21. Sufix siege and elite for spinning gear and leader for some casting applications
  22. I tested the new stren braided line. I like it very similar texture to powe pro with the woven strands, but much less stiff, breaks in to limp thread like very quick but very strong. I hear ohero adrea-line is good stuff too. And at times I use power pro it is good.
  23. X2 with hedgehog they offer quite a few choices for swept handles both aluminum and carbon fiber. I am partial to the avail swept aluminum myself. That is my only complain about the hawg techs they only take sheemano knobs. But there are some good looking aftermarket shimano knobs by avail and yumei(sp) if you go that route.
  24. Academy sports used to sell them, but I have only seen the regular rattlesnake recently. Otherwise on line at TW or grandes website. Also may want to take a look at V&M wild thang similar to the mega tail and anaconda
