THE WALKING DEAD is back finally!!!
What. A. Freaking. Episode.

Need? Absolutely not. You can get away with a medium fast and back off the drag a little. A moderate action rod would increase hookup ratio, and is definitely worth it to me.

Same here. I much prefer the look with the U40.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
My max was 200 also, but I was also in a bidding war for an X4 Black Elseil. The X4 BE went from $200 to $330 in the last few mins, and there was no way I was gonna pay that. So I just focused on the Oneten stick and got it for $225. You should have seen how big my eyes were when that Black Elseil was $200 with two minutes left... and then disappointment of course

Rock Crawler<Wild Thang< Pit Bull
Dude... I havent been this excited to try a new lure in a long time. I hope it lives up to the expectations. If each and every one has that hard kicking, hunting action right out of the package, then Teckel hit a home run. Cant wait to try them out!

Rock Crawler<Wild Thang< Pit Bull
Id recommend the Teckel Drunker. Havent tried them yet, but did purchase a few to try this spring. They look promising.

Whats So Good About DC?
Specifically the Excense DC? Im looking to pick one up, as this reel receives rave reviews. What are the advantages of the DC braking system, and what makes this reel so popular?

what is your favorite brand of jerkbaits
I like the Megabass and Lucky Craft lines, but have recently picked up a few of the Duo Realis 110SP and 100DR, and they look very promising.

I will be making a trip down to SoCal in a few weeks, and may have the chance to fish either if not both of these lakes. I have never fished SoCal, so have zero clue what to do. If you had to pick one of these to fish, which one would you pick? Also, any tips for either one are greatly appreciated. I am trying to gather as much info as I can before I go down in a few weeks. So what do I have to do to catch them Mid February? Thanks guys.

Dobyns
Yeah Ill be fishing double willow 100% of the time

Dobyns
Appreciate it guys. Would the 704 have enough of the slight "give" you are looking for while fishing spinnerbaits?
-
Dobyns
Question for the Dobyns guys. I need a new spinnerbait rod and it is between the 703 and the 704. I did my research, but most guys are using 3/8oz spinnerbaits, so I couldnt compare well. I will be using 1/2oz and 3/4oz exclusively. I am worried that the 703 will be underpowered, but I also know you want some give in your rod for spinnerbaits. Can I get away with the 703? Which rod would be the best choice for these 1/2-3/4oz spinnerbaits? Thanks

Road To The Super Bowl!
Although my heart still hurts, I would like to see Arizona or Denver win. It would be cool for Peyton, and Larry Fitzgerald deserves one after all he has done and the stand up guy he is. Always rooting for Larry except for two games each season!

Orange Belly
I have heard numerous guys say jerkbaits and crankbaits are better if they have an orange belly. Is this true for you? If it is true, I was wondering why I dont see the majority of hard baits having an orange belly? Also, if it is true, would coloring an orange belly with an orange sharpie onto some of my favorite hardbaits elicit more strikes? What is your guys opinion on all of this

How do you feel about swivels?
Ive used a swivel on a drop shot for the last two years, and my line snapped at the swivel once in two years. It was probably from me being lazy not re-tying for a while. But with hundreds of fish and only one failure which was presumably my fault, I will continue to use one, as I feel is does help reduce line twist.

Knot for YZH
Yeah I used the palomar and SDJ and they work fine on all other lines, which is how I know it was a bad spool. Ill give it another try, with extra carefully tied knots, and hopefully I will get a good spool this time...
-
Knot for YZH
I bought a bad spool of Yo Zuri Hybrid and it would snap everywhere, especially at the knot, with very little force, no matter how wet it was. I know I got a bad spool, but I am going to try it again. For those of you that use YZH, what knots do you use with it?

Road To The Super Bowl!
Burfict has been a thug and a dirty player since I watched him at ASU, and I had a feeling it would carry into the NFL. Its disgusting how he would intentionally try to hurt players, and he should be handed a LENGTHY suspension. But its just another issue for the NFL to brush off... Smh.
