  1. Haha I'm not upset at all, just pointing out my name is not Dan... And I'm still not Dan...
  2. I have a Dobyns 805 Deep Crank Rod rated up to 1.5oz, and a swimbait rod rated 1-6oz. With the Shellcracker weighing in at 1.5oz, which rod would you guys throw it on?
  3. LOVE those rods. Would be huge if Powell brought them back, and probably a good business decision on their part as well.
  4. Happy camper! Also have one more in Bright Blugill on its way.
  5. Agree with you 100%. Jordan was my surefire earlier in the season, but a little hype has died down. Dont get me wrong he can definitely sing, but he is a little more one dimensional than some of the others. Emily and Amy are beautiful, and so are their voices. My top three are Emily, Barret, and Jefferey Austin in no particular order. The talent on that show is mind blowing!
  6. Great article A-Jay, much appreciated. Man I'm still split. I feel like the 684 will be slightly more stiff due to the shorter length, which might be the perfect blend. I've also heard the 685 is slightly more powerful than the 705. Choices choices...
  7. Finally! This will be very useful to many people, as well as clean up the forums a little. Appreciate you taking the time and effort to put this thread together and continue to make this site great!
  8. Ill be using it mostly for Pointer 100s, Staysees, Vision 110s, Duo 100 and 110s. The main thing that concerns me is the Katsuage outbarb hooks on the Megabass are thin wire, so I was wondering for those of you that have used them, is the 685 too much rod for them?
  9. Looking at a new jerkbait rod, and choosing between the 684CB and 685CB. I dont want a rod that is too soft, but I have also heard the 685 can be a little too stiff. Which one would you guys pick?
  10. Saw the beginning after the voice last night and thought the same thing while reading this thread
  11. Down goes Gronk.... Man I hate to see that. One of the most respected players in the league, And one I am a big fan of, even if I cant stand the team he is on. Hope its not too serious...
  12. It seems like every TW sale there is, I always end up making more than one order...
  13. That's a great point, especially with Cincy losing its last two and finally coming back down to earth. However I think the AFC will be won by whoever gets hot at the right time, not the best team. The patriots are undoubtedly the best team in the AFC, but with so many borderline good teams, I think it will be whoever starts rolling at the right time.
  14. Been waiting on this restock for two months now. Plus a new jerkbait rod.
  15. Anyone who thinks the Patriots will represent the AFC in this years super bowl is just plain wrong... Sure theyre the best AFC team, but their players are falling like flies. They are too injured and not deep enough to go all the way.
  16. Do you generously wet your knot before clinching?
  17. This. Most of the opinions you get will be based of of brand loyalty, not experience.
  18. In my opinion, a drop shot rig is one of, if not the most versatile way to fish a soft plastic. Experiment with it and see what the fish want that day. Drag it, cast it, drop it, kill it, shake it, hop it, longer leader, shorter leader, etc.
  19. Got an Orochi XX EMTF at a local tackle shop today. These Megabass rods are really starting to grow on me.
  20. Looking to get a few good bass books to start reading now that the days are getting shorter. Ive done a search and came up with a few, but wanted some opinions. What are a few bass fishing books that you guys feel are insightful and worth reading? I already have Bill Murphys "In Pursuit of Giant Bass", and Doug Hannons "Big Bass Magic" en route to my house. What are some other good ones?
  21. Just purchased my first Hardgill. Cant wait for it to get here.
  22. I see a lot of complaints about reel seats on jerkbait rods, irritating peoples hands because of the constant movement of the rod. So I was wondering, how would throwing a jerkbait on a spinning rod work, with a casting reel? Are there any disadvantages im missing? Because I havent seen many people do it. I feel like it would remove the irritation aspect because there is no trigger. What are your guys thought on this?
  23. My PX-R can be finicky on the cast, it definitely requires more attention on the cast than any other reel I own due to that spool being so darn fast. A super fun reel to use. Love mine.
  24. I have a 6'9 MH/F KLX, which I initially bought as a worm and senko rod. It as an almost moderate action, and didnt work well for the applications I bought it for. I converted it to a spinnerbait rod and it is much better for that. Now I am looking at the 7' M/XF Helium 3, and was wondering for those who have used a Helium 3, how are the XF actions? Are they slower than normal like the KLX, or are they more of a true XF? I will be using it for finesse jigs, finesse t-rigs, shakey heads, senkos, etc.
