  1. Thanks for that rippin-lips. That balance is insane for a 7'7 rod! Well mine is supposed to be here Friday, and I am really looking forward to it.
  2. Right on, Ill probably be using it with 5 in. weightless senkos and 3/8 oz jigs for big hard fighting smallies, so thats good to hear! Also, hows the balance on it? Balance is one of the most important things in a rod for me. Ill be using a reel in the 7-8 oz range.
  3. I got the rod beginning of this year, and mainly used it for Spinnerbaits and 1/4-3/8 oz jigs, and I'm still experimenting.
  4. Yup, I just ordered a 723. Hoping the large Powell following here can tell me more about it. And I think your right, I definitely like my Tatula, but maybe set my expectations a little high.
  5. Hey guys, Ive heard nothing but good things about the Powell rods, so I want to try one. I have a Max 3D 7'5 MH Deep crank rod, and love it. I was looking at the Endurance 723. I also have a Tatula 7'2 MH/R, and feel its overrated. I feel it is a bit tip heavy and not worth the hype. So would I like the Endurance better? Using these rods for 1/4-3/8 oz jigs mostly.
  6. Decided to go with the Powell Max 3D 7'5 MH/Mod-Fast Composite. Hope I like the composite.
  7. Narrowed it down to the 7'5 MH/Mof-Fast composite Powell Max 3D, and the Kistler KLX 7'3 MH/Mod-Fast Graphite. What do you guys think?
  8. The powell Max I was looking at was composite and I like graphite... How will the 7'5 MH Compostie fish? Will it be better for the deep divers than graphite?
  9. My crankbait rod broke today, and I decided it was time for a new one, since I fish cranks so often. It will be strictly for deep divers. Preferably around 7'6", MH/M or MH/M-F. Using it for DD22s, 5XDs, 6XDs, Bomber BD8s, and Koppers deep diving crawfish. Suggestions? Would like to stay under $200.
  10. I will definitely run it with a leader. But I was asking because all I see is people running it on 4-6lb Fluoro... And it seems like 10lb braid is much smarter with the thin diameter required, but a lot more strength. Just wondering why Ive never seen it being done with braid...
  11. I am getting into spybaiting this coming spring, I fish deep pressured smallies and it sounds great for me. Ive done my research and everyone recommends 4-6lb fluorocarbon. I was thinking, how would 10lb braid work? It had the small diameter needed(2lb), and it would be a lot stronger. What do you think?
  12. Too much. Local tackle shop had all tackle 50% off... uh oh... heres what I got 15 Packs of Senkos 15 Packs of Shad Shaped Worms 2 Packs of Hula Grubs 15 Packs of Jackall Crosstail Shads 20 Packs of Sniper Snubs (Best Dropshot bait) 1 Bulk Pack of Sniper Snubs 1 Pack of RI Smallie Beavers 1 Pack of Panic Minnows 1 Pack of local drop shot baits (Forget the name) 2 Packs of baby rage craws 1 Pack of Chigger Craws 2 Packs of Rebarb hooks 1/0 7 Packs of Gammy 3/0 Hooks 1 Bulk Pack of size 4 Owner DS Hooks 2 150 yd Spools of Power Pro 8 for drop shotting 1 660 Yard Spool of Sunline Sniper 7lb 2 packs of Keitech Swing Impacts 1 Pack of Zman Finesse Shadz 2 Packs of Rebarb hooks 3/0 1 13 *** 6'10 M 1 Daiwa Tatula Type R 1 Shimano Sdradic Ci4 2500 Might have missed a few things... saved over $400
  13. Graphite 765. I like graphite for deep divers much more.
  14. Lews Tournament Pro! Just got one yesterday, blows away my $200 Abus and Daiwas
  15. Ill probably be using either a Lews Tournament Pro, or Lews LFS Speed spool. More than likely the Tournament Pro though. Since it weighs 6.7 oz, Which rod would be best?
  16. Im looking at getting a new Kistler KLX, and am looking at the 6'9 MH/F Split grip jig rod, and the 7' MH/F Full handle jig rod. My question is, what will balance better? A rod that is three inches shorter but has a split grip, or a rod that is three inches longer but has a full grip?
  17. I need a new drop shot rod for docks. Which one is better? I will be primarily using 3/16-3/8oz weights with mostly 1/4oz. I have a ML rod for open water, and need one for docks and light cover. I dont want it to be too soft, and i heard the DX702 has almost too soft of a tip for drop shots. Which one would you guys recommend?
  18. Hey guys, Im in the market for a Kistler KLX, and need your opinion. I am looking at either the 6'9 MH/F carolina rig/ jig rod, the 7' MH/F carolina rig/ jig rod, or the 6'10 M/XF senko special rod. I have heard the KLX's are slightly underpowered. I will be using them mostly with weightless senkos, and baits from 1/4-3/8 oz with 1/2 oz in the mix too. What rod do you think is best for me? Also, what coupon codes could I use to save some money? Thanks in advance
  19. I know these topics come up a lot, but im getting a new senko and small plastics rod. Looking at a 7' M/F or MH/F. Which rod do you guys is feel better and why? Other suggestions are welcome.
  20. I store my tackle on shelves in the garage during winter. My question is, should I leave my 3600 boxes open during winter? So air and water can get in and out to prevent rust. Will this help?
  21. I drop shot with the $100 Kistler Carbon steel rod, which is an outstanding rod. Yesterday I held a $285 G Loomis IMX drop shot rod at the store and couldnt believe the difference. I was blown away...
