  1. Whats the link? It won't let me click on it. If nothing else message it to me, Thanks
  2. I throw 4" Senko's a ton on a Medium Action Spinning Rod w/ 8 lb Lucky Craft Iron Athlete Line. I use a 3/0 EWG hook for texas rigging and I prefer a more sideways hookset. I probally hook between 80 - 85% of all the bass that strike. I also like to give the bass a extra second before setting to hook to make sure he has it
  3. I have a boat but most of my biggest bass have come from the bank, best bank fish so far is 9 lbs even
  4. I've never done any better on Livingstons baits, then any other brand, including the cheap Normans and Bandits
  5. Get the Red Spike it Dye as well as the Chartreuse Spike it Dye, and mix the two, you'll get Orange.
  6. I do a lot of bank fishing. I use a bookbag as most people do. If I'm going to a new lake, I'll carry 2 rods, 1 spinning, 1 baitcaster, typically once I know what's there and what I'm fishing, I'll just take one or the other. I bring a plano box with my hard baits, I stick my jigs in a zip lock bag, 5 - 10 bags of soft plastics, a spool of extra line.
  7. A few months ago, my girlfriend and I decided to take a road trip to Florida to try and get a few spawners, since it was still winter here (Virginia). We booked a hotel that had a small pond on the property, and there was about 5 more little lakes and ponds in the same neighborhood at other hotels and shopping centers. The first day I fished all the larger ones (5 - 15 acres) and did well with numbers but only a few 3 - 4 lbers. I decided to finish the smallest of the ponds which was 1 acre at best, The sides were full of vegetation, that extended about 8 feet from shore all around the pond, but the center was clear. The only structure in it was a fountain in the center. I made a few cast with a swim jig along he vegetation, with no success, so I fired a cast to to the fountain, and let the jig settle to the bottom. As soon as it hit bottom, I felt the weight of a good fish, so I set the hook. The fish instantly flew to the surface and tried to jump, but gravity took over as she was to big to get out of the water. The best she could do was shake her head violently on the surface. Then she reversed course and nose dived straight to the bottom, and tangled me up in all the hoses and such of the fountain. I got a clear look at this fish, as she stayed on the surface for about 10 seconds trying to jump. My personal best is 9 lbs and this fish I'd estimate between 10 - 11 lbs
  8. I always enjoy the stories here, and just wanted to read a few more. So tell me, whats the story about the monster bass you had hooked that got away. I'll post mine later when I get a few more free minutes. The more details the better,

Here's what I throw as a "swimjig" though technically not a swim jig, though it's fished like one. I like a 1/4 or 3/8 oz Jig, I personally use the 1/4 oz Brush Head most, I prefer Bluegill colors (Greens, Purples, and some Browns), as a trailer I use either a Zoom Creepy Crawler Twin Tail grub or a Baby Rage Craw. I like to throw it out, let it hit bottom on a slack line, then slowly wind it back, in a steady retrieve.
  10. A: a Bullet Weight is typically used B: Most people just let the weight slide freely, but if you want it to no, then use a bobber stop, no knot needed
  11. Not sure what your buddy grabbed, but it wasn't fish eggs.

What tackle shop sells the tabs? The Dugout?
  13. I'd be interested in a few of the Bluegill Squarebills, if you sell them
  14. I pour my own heads for them, and don't have any issues with them running true. I've done very well with them for bass and crappie. Typically use a 1/8 or a 1/4 oz head, with a occasional 3/8 oz head for deep fish.
  15. I'm a big fan of the Berkley Havoc Grass Pig and Grass Pig Jr rigged with a weighted hook.
  16. I love their baits! Never had a bad one. They make a great bait at amazing prices! I believe you are looking for color 04 or 50 Fall Craw
  17. I love the Pflueger President Limited Edition reels. I have 4 of the 30 size now, and I'm planning to switch all my spinning reels over to the LE. It's a amazing reel for the price. Best spinning reel I've ever used.
  18. I've made a few dozen of these, pretty easy to make. I've caught decent fish with them playing around, mostly crappie, bluegill, bass, and pickeral.
  19. Same here, my PB is from Virginia at 9 lbs even
  20. Unless you have a few custom molds only you have, it won't be worth it. There's to much competition for the same baits from the same molds. Taxes eat a HUGE part of your profits, supplies take another large chunk. Makes lures for fun, not a living
  21. The Lake Whitehurst Fishing Station and Boat Ramp closed on November 1, 2009, due to Norfolk International Airport security needs and updated regulations issued by the Federal Aviation Administration. The City of Norfolk, which operated the station and ramp, has no plans to re-open these facilities. Current fishing access to the lake is limited to lakefront residents and their guests. The VDGIF suspended its management of fisheries in the lake in 2009 because of the loss of public access to the lake. For more information about the closure of the fishing station and boat ramp at Lake Whitehurst, please contact the City of Norfolk's Reservoir Manager at (757) 441-5678.
  22. fish anywhere in or near gatlinburg with a ultralight spinning rod, 4 lb test, and small crappie jigs or rooster tails and you'll do great on trout. I make the same trip every year, and the Little Pigeon River is loaded with trout
  23. For me, all my Spinning Reels are the Pflueger President Limited Ediions, For Baitcasting, it's Revo's
  24. Did you see any gators around? I know we saw a few signs mentioning them
  25. Yup, that little pond to the right of the entrance at the Clarion. Pond was maybe 2 aces with a fountain in it an directly across the street from the Kobe Steak House pond. I was throwing a jig, swimming it back, I had already fished the edges, and got nothing, so I took a few cast to the fountain where it was "deep" 6 - 8 feet deep. She about ripped the rod out of my hand, and after I set the hook, I couldn't control her at all, I was just holding on for dear life. She kept trying to jump, but he weight kept her in the water, with only her head getting above the water line. She finally wrapped me up in the pipes going to the fountain. My personaly best was 9 even, and after seeing her, I believe sh was 11 lbs or so
