Living Rubber Skirts?
Personally I’ve never thought the benefits of living rubber outweighs the negatives of it. Especially the skirts gumming together and ruining the whole jig

Living Rubber Skirts?
Living rubber has more action but less color selection. Also if you don’t keep living rubber jigs stored at a room type temperature the strands will melt together and get gummy

Canoe v. Kayak
Another vote for the Okd Town Sportsman kayak. I love it. Very stable, comfortable to fish from, and durable as can be.

Mann's Jelly Worms?
They work well on a shakey head.

Advantages of a shorter rod?
I use many 6’ rods. Cause to me accuracy triumphs all. And a shorter rod is more accurate. I can stick my bait within a baseball sized area on every cast. I can skip as far as anyone, and more accurate than most with them. The only disadvantage to me is casting distance but I don’t even see that as being that much of a difference if you have a quality reel. To me, the BPS Pro Qualifier 6’ Medium is the best rod I’ve ever used. So light and sensitive and casting is a breeze.

Buzzbait break-in
I remove the blade and use sandpaper to rough up the wire where the blade goes, use pliers to smash the rivet flat when I put it back together and rough up the top edge of that rivet that touches the blade for extra squeak, then bend out the wire a bit so the buzz air sits lower in the water and finally I put it in front of a fan for at least 3-4 days or it in hurry I’ll use a air compressor

Make tungsten weights?
No one is going to make a pure tungsten jig head, fishing weight, etc. It’s to hard, to high a melting point, and to much time/money to make it happen. This is why it’s only done in very very few plants in China and only a China, I believe.

Best braid for spinning reel
I love the Academy store brand 8 strand braid. I use the 10 lb on my spinning rods. It’s very smooth, strong and never had an issue. $10 a spool as well. Love it

Putting skirts on jigs while on the water
Do whatever works for you. I couldn’t do it. I tie my own at home and use them on the water. They are hand tied and have to be because I skip a lot and the bands won’t hold up to constant skipping. Besides I only use 4 colors anyway.

Braided Line Split Rings, Who Uses Them?
I keep seeing guys talk about them and use them, but I haven’t tried them out. Im intrigued though. So I’m looking for real world reviews and such from anyone has tried them out? Is there really that much of an advantage over regular split rings?

What´s your favorite lure for spawning Bass?
Big old plastic lizards. The bigger the better. Nothing gets them more fired up then a 11” lizard crawling thru the bed

Shallow Spool Upgrade on a BPS Pro Qualifier?
My girlfriend loves her Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier bait cast reels, but will get frustrated in wind with birds nest. I figured if I switched out the spool for a shallow spool it would be easier for her to fish. Never switched out a spool before so how do I know what size to get? Or will any fit? Thanks for the help

Trimming Jig Skirt Lengths : How Do You Trim The Bottom ?
I’m convinced the cut matters. I take the bottom and cut even to within 1/2” of the hook bend. Then in cut upward from the bottom randomly 7-8 times. Turn the jig upside down and trim near the hook with thinning shears. Then flip the jig again normal and cut random skirt individual pieces 1/4”-1/2” from head. Maybe 12 total pieces. Lastly I then go thru and make sure each individual strands are separated from each other for independent movement.

3 inch Stiko
I’ve used the 3” as a Ned rig bait, Texas rigged and wacky rigged. All worked well

Super Glue
If you go to dollar tree they have a pack of generic super glue in like .1 oz packs. You get like 3-5 pa is for $1. I use them most so even if they dry out you don’t waste much. One pack will last a day

Bait modifications
So I've done the same thing for about 2 years but I've found the paperclip is to heavy a wire and will rip softer plastics. So I do everything the same as you I just use Christmas ornament hangers as the metal. They are dirt cheap, especially after Christmas. Easier to cut, bend, and work with.

Organizing terminal tackls

Any (round) rod racks you can recommend?
No question here, get the Academy Sporting goods ones. Built much stronger and better material and even cheaper then BPS.

Oh wow do I have the worms
I have huge tubs like 2 feet high, 3 feet long and 2 feet wide full of packages of soft plastics. Some full packages, some a few baits missing but clearly enough baits to last a few lifetimes. Probally should sell off most of it to buy more baits I use.
