  1. IMO, I thought all the reply's to the question were answered just fine. What was expected? For everyone just to say "aw, dont worry about it, you dont need a license"....This is a bass forum and you had to expect some pretty tough answers to that question. I dont think anyone ever felt any ill-will to Darrick himself, but just letting him know that it would be much easier to just buy a license.
  2. Never thought I'd see a Dirty Harry quote on this forum!!!! ;D ;D

I live in Denver, and am a member of the Denver Bassmasters but we have tournaments in Kansas. In fact, we have one June 3 and 4th @ Cedar Bluff. Any reports would be helpful from you Kansas fishermen!!!!! ;)
  4. 5 3/4 lb Smallmouth caught 4/9/06 @ 1:30 p.m. Fish took a 2 1/2 in crooked creek tube watermelon/ black/copper flake off of large chunk rock. A beautiful smallie if I do say so myself! ( I figured Roadwarrior would appreciate this the most! ;D)
  5. Personally, I like spinnerbaits with a white skirt and chrome blades in clearer water and chartruse with gold blades in murky water. I like willowleaf blades in clear water and depending on how murky the water is, or if its nighttime, I like the big colorado blades.

Rule # 2...........Winter is the time for chores. Spring through fall I will be busy! ;D ;D ;D
  8. Frye.............Frye..............Frye....................... ;D ;D ;D
  9. uh...........I can tell you that the ph of the water will affect the bass, but as for your question of how does the rain affect it, you have to get some of the other guys to answer that one.
  10. Here's one tip. When the water moves up, the bass will move up with it.
  11. Iaconelli has drop-shotted with about 6 inches of line before. Also, imo I think this technique is best used from a boat. It is a vertical presentation that is difficult to achieve from the bank(unless the water is really deep or drops off quickly....
  12. Good post. I will add that a good first aid kit is a must as well.
  13. one quick note, it has been my experience that you need to "feed" them the wacky rig a little longer than c or t rigged. I will get a tap, tap, tap a lot but if I set the hook then, I seem to always miss the hookset. If I let the fish have it a little longer and feel a tap, tap, tap and then a pull, thats when I set the hook. Just a thought.
  14. I caught all my bass yesterday on a weightless senko that was wacky rigged. Also a very effective weightless presentation.
  15. Use whatever rig YOU feel will work. As long as YOU think it will work, then your doing fine!
  16. I had to chuckle at this post! I asked the very same question about 4 months ago! and by the way, the bait monkey is still on my back and WILL NOT GET OFF!!!!! (g rated boys & girls!) ;D ;D ;D
  17. Very good info gentlemen!
  18. Just going on your info, I would burn a rat-l-trap over those weed flats and I would also hit those rocky points with whatever you have..tubes, jigs, spinnerbaits etc.........
  19. Here in Colorado, we have 2 free fishing days per year..........
  20. You can also find patterns within patters. Using nb1226's example, you might be c-rigging main lake points but the bass wont take a worm. You find that using a lizard and working it fast on the c-rig on the main lake points is most effective.
  21. I like to use a Zoom super fluke on a split shot rig.(usually white ice) the smallies love this rig!
  22. I have "bassin thumb" even as we speak!
  23. Just my 2 cents............I have never had a problem catching fish and lots of em smoking all the while. Now, I will admit I do use megastrike but I have never had any issues with smoking and catching fish.............
  24. I dont even own a boat and ALL my rods are kept in rod socks!
  25. Thanks man! I appreciate the input!
