The ugly stick worked well for me in the past................catching trout...............I would never have one for bass fishing..........Just my .02..............but, remember, dont look a gift horse in the mouth!

Every rod I own except for 2 have a quantum reel on it...I wouldnt think of switching..........I love them to death........My 2 favorites are the energy pt(I have 3) and the tour edition(1).........the energy pt is by far the best reel I have used.............Just my .02............

In addition......practice, practice, practice............It really helps when learning to use a baitcaster.......I still practice all the time, even in the winter...i set up coffee mugs around the house to practice Flippin & pitchin..........the more you get use to using the reel, the easier it will get over time..............Like RW said, start with all the brakes on and decrease as you get more comfortable.........

Now that's a great reason to buy one.... For the record, I didnt buy the reel to smoke.(This is what's being implied by this statement)That's just an added benefit. Since I have caught about 200 bass with this reel, I think I will stick with it........Mine makes no weird noises, has no problems with the twitchin bar........I use it like I would any other reel.........No matter, I like it and have had no problems with it................People who dont like it.......OH WELL...........Just my opinion.........Also, I only paid 80 bucks for the reel...........Is that a better reason?

For me, it all started with my dad........My dad grew up in Idaho and was a trout fisherman and he started bringing me along when i was about 4 or so.........I used to have to piggy-back on his back to reach the hole in the river.........was a fly fisherman for about 20 years before I moved over to the Bass.........A friend had taken me to a little farm pond here in Colorado that had bass and the 1st one i caught..........that was it...........I loved trying to figure those darn fish out. It was like putting a puzzle together.........make all the pieces fit, and you have a fish on your hook as a reward..........Trout were too simple and easy to catch so..............been a bass fisherman since...........THANKS DAD! YOUR THE BEST!

Well, I hate to disagree with you all but I have a viento and I LOVE IT! I have had zero problems with this reel.......Twitchin bar works just fine for me as well..........it comes in very handy when I smoke while fishing ;D.........When I set the hook, I'm not using the twitchin bar..........I use it like I would any reel, it just has the added feature with the twitchin bar.............sometimes I use it, sometimes I dont...I do not regret buying this reel for even 1 second.........

Pretty kewl year for me........Finished 4th overall in our club and finished as the top non-boater..........Caught my PB smallie in early april......about 4 1/2 lbs............Fished about 10 places I have never fished before..........and joined Bassresource!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Seaguar...........................No more problems!

Whoo-Hoo! This is my kind of question. I LOVE the Seaguar fluro! It is the best fluro(IMO) that is out there! I have at least 8 rods spooled with this stuff....you might also want to look at Seaguar's new fluro called "Invisxxx"........its not available everywhere but it is AWESOME! ;D ;D ;D

I like tubes the best when fishing a ledge..........this is closely followed by a GYCB Fat Ika.............

I was fishin with a buddy one day and was using a floating rapala.......I had a gull swoop down and nail that bait...........I reeled him him, my buddy held the bird, i popped the lure out of his beak, and away he went! ;D

Just an FYI.............Anytime someone emails YOU for account info, RUN! A legitimate business would never email or call you asking for a card number.............I have worked in a credit union for 10 years and we get warnings about this all the time! If you go purchase something, then that's a different story but NEVER EVER give personal info to someone who is calling or emailing for it!

Well, I wish I could say my name is from fishing but........it is actually from a KISS song. Kiss has been one of my favorite bands forever..........I am also a drummer and bass player so music is big with me..........anyway, the song is called Deuce..........(you know your man is workin hard, he's worth that Deuce)..........and I was born in 1972.................How exciting huh! ;D ;D ;D

As far as I understand......noise from talking,music, etc, does not affect the bass all that much. Now, thumping on the bottom of your boat such as footsteps, putting gear on the bottom of the boat etc.that's a noise that will spook the bass......

Interesting question about the baitfish..............For me personally, I always like to fish the windy side first,especially for Smallmouth.........Smallies love the wind blown banks...........

Personally, I couldnt agree more. I abhorr being late or having someone I'm waiting on being late.........If they can't show up on time, then they can find their own way to the lake........Just my .02 worth............

Personally, I like late morning to early afternoon. I always seem to do the best between about 10 a.m and 2 p.m.........Both my PB Smallie & Largemouth came during those times. Get out there when you can and get em! ;D ;D

I usually stick with 2 kinds of shallow cranks...........I like Strike kings 1X series............and I also like Bandit shallow cranks as well.............Oh, I forgot.Mann's baby 1 minus.....Those Manns are great for cranking over the top of submerged weedbeds!

Actually, I do.............It's cost me 1 G Loomis Rod...I learned quickly after that....

Practice, Practice, Practice.................I have coffee mugs set up all over our house to practice with...........Some are partially hidden behind other items, some are further than others etc.............I practice all the time in our house...Drives the wife nuts when she cant find a coffee mug! ;D ;D ;D

I think fourbizzle hit the nail on the head...........Talk to him.............Ask questions, let other people know where you are going and when you'll be back. Carry a cellphone. ......I think in general, most fisherman are on the "up & up".he probably needs someone to go with as bad as you do..........when you post on a forum asking for a boater..you have to expect that people will take you up on that offer.........You posted for a boater, now you have one(with a very nice set-up i might add).GO CATCH FISH!
