Count me in the jitterbug craze..........I thought I was the only one who threw this bait. (I think I am in Colorado) ;D. I also favor a buzzbait with a black skirt and blade as well for nighttime smallie action.........

I personally like plastics and jigs for BIG smallies, but if we're talking about crankin, my fav is a lipless crankbait. These produce the best for me when it comes to smallies. I also love jerkbaits, especially in the spring.

Hmmm............I'll have to respectfully disagree on this one. I can think of one band that has had bigger and better stage shows for 30 years..............it's a small american band you might of heard of............KISS!

Personally, I don't like braid on a spinning outfit at all. I stick with relativley light line on a spinning outfit, and heavier on a baitcast set-up as a general rule.....

Excalibur............They are the only lipless cranks I'll throw. They are extremly LOUD and the colors scheme and finish are great. I swear by them. They are a bit pricey but well worth it IMO. ;D ;D ;D

Fishtank..............That does suprise me! I swear by Seaguar. I have never found it to be brittle at all..........Maybe it had been on the shelf too long............You might want to try again......

There are CERTAIN things you cannot use with a light action rod....mostly due to the power of the rod....You dont not have enough backbone to set the hook with soft plastics for example. Large crankbaits and spinnerbaits are also out. You might get away with using a shallow crank of some sort.......Strike King 1x for example.............or possibly a small jig but you would probably do better to buy an inexpensive good med action rod. I'm sure you'll get a lot of help here!

I use Fluro all the time on spinning gear and I have had no trouble at all.........I never use more than 10 lb test and ALWAYS use Seaguar...........

Dropshot baits? I have 2 that I live by.................Robo Worm, and a 4 inch GYCB flat tail worm....... ;D

Lucky Craft Pointers, Rapala X-Rap, and Smithwick Rogues are all jerkbaits that work well......You need to practice with the cadence of working the jerkbait till you find what the fish want. Typically, you start with a jerk, jerk, pause........jerk, jerk, pause..............the fish will tell you how fast or slow to work the bait. Keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it...........Jerkbaits are an excellent way to catch suspended bass in cold water.........
