  1. If the MH is not enough rod, your only option is to go to the Heavy, after 3 MH and not being happy I think you would be better off buying a Heavy and not another Med. Heavy,,,,,,,
  2. I love Big Game for leader, most times I run 1.5' to 12', what I like is it is very abrasion resistant, great knot strength. I would never use it for filling a reel, especially on a spinning reel, way to much memory, and to stiff for my likes. As far as strength,,,I doubt you have to worry about that. Trilene XL is much better as a main line, and there are much better options, but,,,,,unfortunately they seem to come with a saying,,,,,you get what you pay for, if you want a mono line that does everything well, it cost more money, like I say for leaders,,,,,it can't be beat in my opinion.

I can't answer about the electricians???? But this big ol Iron Worker did, that's doin it the right way, and only imagining how great it feels to be acknowledged like that!!!! My kid's well hey, but from someone you just reach out hoping to touch anothers life in a posotive way,,,,,well it's pretty cool when he backfires on you, you deserve it!!!!! Congrats and Thanks for setting an example we all should follow! THAT'S DOIN IT THE RIGHT WAY,,,, & HE WAS JUST LETT'N YOU KNOW IT!
  4. That is ridiculous!! they both played the same amount of playoff series the last two years, and had the same amount of time off every year, the one thing the Spurs definitely had to do is play through a much tougher conference to get to the Heat the last 2 years, and after two years with playors much older, did it in the most decisive fashion in NBA Playoff history!!! Out scoring them in three consecutive games by the largest margin in the History of the playoffs!! Some will absolutely try and make excuses and ignore the fact, downplaying the dominance the aging Spurs displayed in the past 14 years,,,,not 4!! They did it together and I will assure you they didn't run from team to team looking for enough support to make them as players look good. They stick together year after year, and glue and bond working harder together than any other team to accomplish their goals as a unit!! Hat's of to the biggest display of class I have witnessed in the NBA in my lifetime,,,,,,that was so cool to see the lack of getting in the faces, chest pounding, fist pumping, trash talking, arm throwing, face making, display that so many other teams and player's love to promote. Just down to business this is the way to play, and what I get paid for, I am just doing my job,,,, treating their opponents with the utmost respect,,,,, an attitude you never will see from LaBro and the boy's!! Yes what a display of Class,,, Superiority, discipline, talent, a respect for the game and all involved!!!!! WAY TO GO SPURS!!!!
  5. That is the other great thing about St. Croix, you can buy their blanks and build them your way and keep the lifetime warranty. I would also say you talked to the wrong people at St Croix, I have 2 highly altered Extremes, and 5 Customs, all are 100% still backed by St. Croix warranty,,,,,the Blank only, but still covered. Altering a handle properly will not void the warranty as long as it was properly done.
  6. ok coach,,,,,,, you got em, enjoy him!! Thankfully he will never be a Celtic ,,,or Spur!!
  7. This is one of the worst things you can use on a reel!! WD-40 has no use whatsoever servicing a reel, and is quite harmful! I recamend you flush and use a lubricant on them, if you care about your reels. Then keep WD-40 away from them!! Just a word of advice.
  8. I think they have listened and have rite as well, most I find do prefer it, as for cheaper labor, the labor cost today for building an avid is higher than ever, the only labor that is cheaper you refer to, are rods they build over seas and do not back for life, they do this to compete with cheap rods, and accommodate those that want a St. Croix but don't want to spend the money for a top of the line rod, such as the Avid and Legends. The oldest American company that still builds them in America on their own American Made Blanks must have something rite!! I would say they have listened to the majority very well, like most others, I like mine, all 8 of em!!
  9. How well a person can play a game is of little use determining their worth as a human being or how much class they have. Garbage is a little a little off I think trash is where I would rate him! He is lazy, self centered and tries to do no more than needed to land a big contract, yes he is very talented, but it will always remain a mystery to how good he could have been at the end of his career, and that is because he will never play with the dedication day in and out as MJ, Larry Byrd, Magic Johnson, John Stockton, Tony Parker, David Robinson, your great AI, on and on. You may know a great deal about talent but it is obvious you know absolutely nothing about dedication,,,,,,,and even less about "CLASS" get rid of the bum and and the prison release, and the rest of the trash on that team, and you have a start,,,maybee! He would never play for me if I had a team that is a fact, and as much as you know you should realize there are many who know more, and Popovich is one, I can assure you he would never have LaBro on his team, the reason is if you have noticed, first of all they don't need him to display what a dynasty they have been since his arrival, and second,,,,,he ONLY deals in players with CLASS!!! Take a good look at his players, how they win and how they loose,,,,,,,and he himself,,,,,you may start to understand what class is, and how important class is, more talent can be a waste when it don't show up every time they step on the court, he will never do that, he lacks two thing's,,,,Class,,,,and most of all HEART!!! LaBro "I" "me" "mine" he may speak different but since he stepped in the NBA has proven that!! I have never been a Kobe fan either, he is another who would never play for Pop!! He has heart and plays hard but for years he was a I Me Mine also!!
  10. Ya I seen the remake after the post, they have been but kinda butchered,,,,,,,,
  11. I took one of my Grandson's fishing one evening a couple days ago, gave him his choice of where he wanted to go, the river where we get big cats, a small lake where we get Bass, or a little Lake we never fished. He wanted to check out the new water. In an hour and a half later we had 2 big blue gill 10" and 14 Perch all nice most over 12" . Yesterday I took his brother to see if it was a flook or if IT was a "Perch Honey Hole" 20 min. away from home that we had never knew about. It paid of we got 24 this time and all over 11". I don't know when "we will go back" go back, but now I'm sure this will be "OUR" secret Perch hole. first trip day 2
  12. You haven't followed Labron James if you consider him class???? He is known for his less then 100% at work, yes some nights he does, but sorry I made a statement early on about his last game with Cleavland,,,,,an game 7 championship game,,, and he flat layed down, it was obviously no effort on his part, not just a bad game. I will say when it comes to his ability I have no doubt he is the most talented player, he just has a bad habit of laying down and not giving 100% those are fact's!! Definetly not what I call class, he would never be in my same category as Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, David Robinson, John Stockton, etc, those guy's laid all on the floor every time they came on the court, regardless it takes more than talent to be a class act!! There are several players on the Heat I call way less than the class act if you compare any to the ones I listed. If I were an owner he would not be on my team!! But what do I know.....I would have never fired Mark Jackson either!!
  13. On spinning gear I like Cal's drag grease on the pinion and drive gear, but I can't express "lightly" enough! I lightly oil over the grease to thin it a tad more but still holds better than a liquid grease. everything else gets a premium light oil. this allows a reel to be smooth and free in the summer, but on upper 20 and mid 30 degree mornings in March and April up north, they still run smooth and not get that drag on the the handle feeling when reeling like you are talking about from stiff heavy lube. I Also like Shimano Drag grease used the same way. Those that only use reels in a warm climate all the time still have that smooth feel without the gear drag from heavy a heavy lube, will stay pit and work in all climates.
  14. This is sure to cause a problem, Braid needs to be spooled tight, loose braid is sure to have diggin problems with and weight on the line, it digs in easily between the loose wraps and will dig deeper. It is hard to eliminate but the tighter you spool it the harder it is to dig in and especially dig deep. As was said, braid is lighter so I don't know why you fixed your problem by shortening the line unless you were over filling it,,,,, is this a Revo?
  15. Yep Dwight, he got it already,,,I don't think he used it yet but, ya,, he got it, came fedex the post said,,,,,, brand new,,,,,
  16. Nice fish, great job!!
  17. 3-1 and off to San Antonio!! GO SPURS!!! We need a new
  18. PM sent. this is not any longer about panfish reels and rods.
  19. Counterfeited Sunglasses have nothing to do with the person you know counterfeiting them. They are mass produced by companies which can copy to the enth degree the features of the originals, and they are sold by "non authorized dealers" the only way to be safe is for the original purchaser to have bought them at a reputable dealer. In other words I would never buy a pair of Costa sunglasses from Wall Mart or Dollar General, extreme examples but this is what I meant. If you know where he got em you can be pretty sure of what your getting.
  20. I am well aware of specialty reels and have seen a couple, and at their astronomical cost, and as efficient as they are, they will still not cast the tiny weights under 1/16 as well as a quality spinning reel with the proper lines. As far using weighted line, well were not talking less than 1/6th oz anymore. I was under the impression the OP was wanting to use it for the usual -1/16 the unweighted finesse tubes and jigs for panfish and small stream trout and the such. If you want to add weight any reel will do it, but you are no longer throwing the under 1/16 th oz, use any reel and put whatever weight on it you want to make it compatable??? The mention of the Uncle Buck's Crappie reel is a very far cry from the specialty reels mentioned by Raul, and as I said are not intended for any distance casting, but still are not capable of his intentions with a even a weighted line??? The Stradic or any other even cheaper spinning reels with 6# sufix will cast about as good as anything that is available at any price!!! And have a good assortment of rods in all price ranges made for it.
  21. I can't believe this is even debatable, there is no baitcaster at any price capable of throwing light delicate baits 1/16 and under that will outcast a spinning reel with the proper line and rod for the application. To say there is, is simply wishful thinking. Most reels like the Uncle bucks are not used for casting, they are used on spider rigs and the likes with extremely long rods and only serve the purpose to retrieve a fish. Get a good spinning outfit and have at it, or a spin cast, but the rods are more plentiful in the weight and action needed for ultra light work with spinning gear. It is like using a hammer, they will all drive a nail, but most prefer prefer a claw hammer and one the right weight, for the size job they are doing, those that don't, just haven't figured it out yet.
  22. Well said, very nice, but not better than any other reel,,,,,,like I said before I think Shimano put the Curado back where we were use to seeing it before the "G"!!
  23. It may not be an Avid 7'MM, but with its graphite composite construction it is a fairly good rod, and not as fast as many, this just helps for crank'n. I used one moons ago with a Diawa Millionaire back then. I think before my Diawa Strike rods Silver and Gold,,,,,whew that's been a while, oh and Speedmasters then on the Shimano Fight'n stick, Bull whip and Diawa Samuri, and wow,,,,,,, well those rods were all top picks back then, and I caught a ton of Smallmouth and Walleye on em, you better believe they will work, only difference for you is you got a better reel on yours than I had back then!!! Good Fish'n I hope when your 60 you have the same memories, trust me they are good,,,,,as in THE GOOD "OLD" DAYS!!!
  24. IMO... theres your problem... keep the tip down with steady retrieve. Because if you don't you will likely loose more fish, it will help keep the fish in the water on the retrieve, you want to coax it to stay down, It is just More,,,,,, F o r g i v e n e s s ! ! ! ! !
  25. They won't be new Tripletails with 580G I would thing the 400G's if scratched, it is just the mirror finish. I have to agree at any point, G or P 400 Costas are well worth 90 bucks, and doubt it would cost much to have them replaced by Costa. I have Blue mirror 580G Permit's and Green Mirror 580G Blackfins and paid $175.00 for both, I had to shop around a little and you have to be carefull as Costas are the most counterfeited sunglasses on the market!! The 580 is unbelievable and nothing else compares, they have to be worn to believe. If you are sure what they are and can trust the seller go for it, they will always be worth 90 bucks if you want to sel them!! You can't loose!
