  1. I wear the hubby's fishing T's. Let her wear them.
  2. No problem on the "guy thing". HA! here is a link to tournament listings. You can choose the lake and it will show tournaments scheduled. Hope it helps. http://fw.ky.gov/app/fisheries/fishingtournaments.aspx?wid=77
  3. Also, there is a 70 boat tournament going out of Port Oliver the morning of the 21st so you may want to choose one of the other launches to avoid the traffic.
  4. I am a KY gal rather than guy, but Barren River Lake is the closest and the one my hubby and I fish the most. We haven't been able to go in the past few weeks though. It is going to be really difficult to tell you what to try as a major cold front is coming through on Thursday and the temps will be dropping 20 - 30 degrees. The last time we fished, the bass were hitting on jerk baits in "the pond" across from the Port Oliver launch. Hurricane and Walnut Creeks are our favorite spots. I always have luck on a Spooky Nasty Spro Little John crank bait in the back of Hurricane around the road bed. Hope y'all have lots of luck and would enjoy reading a report on how it goes for you.
  5. As someone who works in the domestic law field, although in another state, I can tell you that although I know you are devastated, you will be okay. It is going to take time and there will be times when you believe things will never be okay. THEY WILL!. There will be ups and downs, but you will be okay. Just hang on, find an excellent attorney and most importantly, do what that attorney tells you to do. Prayers will be sent up on your behalf.
  6. Cartainly, a home run by db, but I would say it was a GRAND SLAM by Mr. Martens. And for the children, the sunshine after the storm!
  7. I'm very much afraid we would need a lot more information in order to give any advice. What part of the country are you in, where is the tournament to be held, etc.
  8. I cannot help with your Eagle Cuda problem, I can ask that you thank your son for his service to our country. I know firsthand how difficult it is on the family at home waiting the return of a loved one. May God bless and keep you all until you are reunited.
  9. He looks like a keeper!! Congratulations to you and your wife. Blessings on you all.
  10. How wonderful for both of you and the little guy's buddy! I bet it was FUN watching him catch that fish!!!!
  11. Super flukes have been great to hubby and me this year on c-rigs. Also use 10 inch worms and brush hogs.
  12. If that were my child I would be at the next school board meeting, with that paper in hand, demanding some answers.
  13. Beautiful fish! Where was it caught?
  14. I will probably be laughed off the board but my very favorite reel is a Pflueger Echelon. Hubby got it for me and he ended up loving it so much (and using it so much!) that I bought him one so he would leave mine alone. Watch for a good sale and you can get two for the $100.
  15. Same as Sam except no otters, osprey or beavers so far. By far the coolest is seeing a bald eagle. It takes my breath every time.
  16. 110 here (South Central KY)yesterday. 107 today. Fished from 5:00 a.m. - 11:00 this morning and we just couldn't find them. Hubby caught two dinks and one keeper and I had one dink. Barely got any bites beyond what we caught. I believe the extreme heat has just shut 'em down.
  17. Woo hoo! That is a great fish. Congrats to her!
  18. A husband who loves me and has infinite patience in trying to teach me all the little things that make a successful fisherman. And he has not once threatened to toss me from the boat when I hang up in a tree or break off my carolina rig or jig.
  19. "Real athletes, not anglers", "Real angling, not fresh water" - Excuse me but these professional anglers are REAL ATHLETES and fresh water anglers are REAL ANGLERS as much as any salt water angler.
  20. I agree that most of the fish caught by my hubby and me are caught later in the morning/early afternoon. The problem is the lake we fish is so congested with jet skis, pontoons and ski boats after noon that fishing is extremely difficult. We go early.
  21. Very interesting question. Your best bet would be to contact the tournament organizer and ask if they are allowed. If not, consider signing up as a co-angler.
  22. I hope all of you dads have a blessed Father's Day.
  23. Good for you! I hope you have many years of enjoyment out of your boat. Post a pic of all the fish you catch from it.
  24. Beautiful lady. Congrats on the first LMB. If I were a betting person I would say she is "hooked" too. Wishing you many happy days of fishing.
  25. I am NOT smartphone material at all but I do love my Samsung Galaxy. Thank goodness for my kids who can show me how to use it. Excellent camera but no flash.
