  1. I second the Palomar, except with flourocarbon.
  2. I won one of the BassMaster monthly giveaways a couple months ago. I won a reel. It was a BPS Pro Qualifier SE (Special Edition). It has two more bearings than the ones in their catalogs. I like it, extremely smooth all around, good drag. Just thinking the Extremes have more bearings also. How much were they going for? I might could use a couple.
  3. Hey all, I am taking a short trip for R&R to Lake Sugema this weekend. I have fished it a few times and usually done pretty well. Actually spanked them a couple times. Just wondering if anyone lurking here has fished it recently. If so let me know what you found please. Thanks!-- Rob
  4. Chickens. Gotta use large spinner baits though.
  5. Never tasted, only sniffed. LOL
  6. It took a while, but my thumb is finely tuned. Free spool, no brakes. Huge difference.
  7. BPS baitcasters are made by Pinnacle. Pinnacle makes very good reels.
  8. In Ohio? There is a reason they say Ohio is "high" in the middle. LOL.
  9. As for spoons I like the Miller Wobbler, similar to a Johnson, Silver Minnow. I am using swim jigs more then spoons these days though. I still thrown a rat occassionally.
  10. I have never had "bad" customer service from BASS. I had to call them a couple weeks ago to claim a prize, I was one of the "instant winners" in the July/August issue. They were really polite and took time to chit chat. I also found out they are connected to Disney somehow. Their phones go through Disney. By the way, I won a BPS Pro Qualifier, Special Edition. It has one more bearing then the ones in the BPS catalog. Seems like a good reel, time will tell. All of my BPS baitcasters have served me well. I have had some for at least 5 years and they are outlasting my Curados with the same amount of maintenence. Smoother then the Curados also, except for the Super Frees.
  11. Several years ago I ruined (or rather wore out) a couple rods using Fireline or Battleline. Have not had any problems since then. The tip is what usually goes.
  12. From what I have ascertained on this site the Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft is rated differently than our domestic lines. I normally use 14 - 17 lb test. Any idea how to convert that to the Yo Zuri stuff? Also is the Ultra Soft abrasion resistant? How much does it stretch? Thin or thick diameter? Thanks if anyone can help. Thanks if no one can help too!
  13. Nash, I do not have a problem with personal networks. Nor did I sign a contract when joining this site to reveal everything I know, which really is not much anyways. I am sure others here send pms. Do as you wish. Not that many tournament fishers here. Some of the loudest on this site have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to tourney fishers. Dont let this make you shy.
  14. Maybe eventually, but hard chromium stainless is the way to go with braid.

    Gotta pic?
  16. Just texas rig it. I peg my weights. I use 1/8 or 3/16 most of the time. You can also throw these weightless and can skip them a mile. They also work across weed mats or lily pads weightless.
  17. Rockbass or Warmouth are excellent table fare as are all of the sunfish including LMB, SMB, and Spots. Do not get me wrong, I do not kill many bass, but once in a long while dinner is on.
  18. Great Post!! Avid, you are one honest dude. I laughed and agreed. LOL
  19. I love the taste of bass, fried. Bass eggs taste much like caviar too. j/k.
  20. Just wondering what brand tungsten weights you all use and where you buy them. I would like to find them cheaper that what I have been able to. I personally have been using Tru-Tungsten and like the weights without the plastic inserts through the hole.
  21. I just got a pair of these same glasses for $50 new. Scheel's clearance. I like them.
  22. We have better success using painted blades vs. metallic blades here on the Mississippi River where the water is always somewat muddy. It is very slowely catching on, but really remains a tournament secret.
  23. Last time I ordered I called to find out why it was taking so long. I am assuming they have done this to save money. Anyways their shipping process has changed. Unless you pay more for and request the express or overnight shipping you get the standard. Well they told me it works like this. The items are packaged and then Fed Ex comes and picks them up. Then they are delivered to the United States Postal Service where they are re-sorted, processed, distributed, and delivered by our local mail carriers. Cabelas is much slower than they used to be also, I think they are doing the same thing. My Father in law waited three weeks for his last Cabelas order.
  24. Hi my name is Rob, and I am a BASSAHOLIC.
