oval split rings
What size do you guys/gals use for the line tie? I want to switch out to ovals, but cannot find them local. I have found them in the BPS catalog, the price is good, but I do not know what size to buy. They list the size, but I have no reference to how large they actually are. Thanks.

Rod Quality
Most rod manufacturers make some pretty good sticks. Simply put, you usually get what you pay for.

Line Problems?
Marlboro, Do you get a lot of backlashes? If you do, this weakens your line. You know the little tags that you pull to get backlashes out, they cause weak spots in the line. This could be your problem.

Quest
I think Quest rods are Dick's Sporting Goods own brand. I could be wrong. I do not own any and have never fished them.

Rod/Reel/Line Question on Tube Fishing
Champ, Try using a medium powered rod or changing to lighter, limper line, maybe 12 lb.. This should help to cure your backlashes. I am not going to recommend brands, that is personal preference. There is a ton of really great equipment on the market. The saying, you get what you pay for stands strong with occassional exception of course.

any luck on swim jigs
I actually prefer the Gambler over the Rad Lures. Better hooks. I am not a fan of the Booyah, they seem to break easily. It will be interesting to try the Strike King version.

Guide Series E-Glass
Yes, there is glass in them. They are a decent cranking stick, not the best. You can tell the sticks that have less fiberglass by the weight. You will do fine with this stick. I have a couple that I use as reserves.

Junior World Bassmaster Championship- Less than a
Ben, I am proud of you. I know you will let us know how you do. Fish hard buddy and remember to fish till you have to quit. One kicker could make you.

How often do you guys find Lures?
Couldn't you go walk on the ice and search the brush and trees near the bank?

What's happening with Chatterbaits?
I could be wrong but I believe Renosky was the original, but much larger initially and tailored for muskys. Could be wrong.

What's happening with Chatterbaits?
Jeramiah, Do you happen to have any extra "double corkscrew tail w/ bubble pockets" worms? I am very interested. LMAO, that is classic!!

Male Bass Guarding Eggs?
Furthermore sometimes they are really easy to catch and become almost a nuisance if the females are still relatively shallow. It sometimes is difficult to catch the larger females because the male are so efficient at hitting anything and everything that is presented near them. Prespawn is almost the opposite sometimes.

Power plant lakes
I can say this, but cannot really explain it as I am not a biologist. I rarely fish, but will soon fish Lake Powerton in Pekin, Il. It is loaded with Smallmouth. Anyways, the geese there reproduce and hatch almost a month sooner than in natural lakes. You can be there in early April and the gooslings are already the size of chickens. Cannot comment on the fish though.

Minnkota tiller
Hello all, I have an old Minnkota Endura 40lb stern tiller. I have heard that is is possible to turn the cone around so the prop faces 180 degrees opposite. If I could do that I would mount it on the bow of my little puddle jumper jon boat. If anyone knows if this is possible, and how to do it, please drop me a line. Thanks!-- Rob

gander mountian rods
When I worked there the manager told me at different times that the blanks were Loomis and Croix. No idea what the truth is. Some of their stuff is ok for the money, some are not. Sheel's brand rods are loomis blanks if I am not mistaken and they have an unconditional over the counter replacement warranty. They seem like good sticks.

Spinnerbait with 2 skirts
Interesting, will have to try this. Normally I pull strands out of my skirts to thin them out, on jigs, spinnerbaits, and buzzs.

Call it crazy but whats the best Shoe/Sandle?
Tevo sandals when it is warm, expecially if it is raining. For really long days on the water I use an athletic shoe, New Balance most generally, with a good insole.

Kipawa Props/Hydrillahacker
Hello all, three or four years ago I bought a Kipawa Prop and put it on my Motorguide TR82. Last year they were produced for Motorguide under the name Hydrillahacker. I have noticed that these are not advertised for sale in any of the catalogs this year. I absolutely love this prop, it is extremely weedless, and very powerful compared to stock Motorguide stuff. I heard some negative things, but never experienced anything so I just thought the negatives were the normal criticisms of new stuff. Anybody know anything about this? Should I continue to use this prop? Any reports or even rumors are appreciated. Thanks-- Rob
