  1. Interesting post to say the least.
  2. Funny stuff!! Sounds like this guy knows my wife. Hey! Just one minute here. LOL
  3. To all of you using the *** brand. Do they sink as fast as a Yamamoto? Are they consistent with eachother? I have had decent luck with some knock offs, but as an example. The Bass Pro Sinkos, not even close to consistent with themselves. In a single package some will float, some will sink very very slowely, and some will sink a bit quicker. Anyone tried the NetBait brand?
  4. Slider, I believe parts and service are avaliable from Outdoor World. Do a web search, you should be able to find it.
  5. Well do not get the Booyah's they are terrible. I like the Gambler's good hooks. The only bad thing is the blade is aluminum. The Strike King is supposed to be tough, all steel construction.
  6. My Father started me out with a Johnson Silver minnow tipped w/ an Uncle Josh's Pork Chunk. Pretty versatile, can be fished on the surface or submerged. Pretty darned weedless and only one hook to worry about.
  7. I like the Zoom hooks, they have a screw spring attached to the line eye.
  8. It certainly will not hurt anything, give it a try. Even if it only works to boost your confidence it will be good.
  9. When it first came out I worked at Gander Mountain, just for S & G's. More S than G's too. Anyways, I was given some to try. It does cast like a bullet, no doubt about that. But, it is the worst line that I have ever used. It does not last long, I think sunlight breaks it down really fast. Within 2 weeks the line was shot. Probably only used on 4 or 5 outings. It turned really brittle and knot strength went to crud. And when I say crud, I mean ****! Do not use this line. I would rather use the generic Shakespear line that is super cheap. Actually the Shakespear line is not all that bad, but there are much better lines out there.
  10. Raul, You are killing me. LOL!
  11. You need to vary the speed at which you retrieve. The most important thing though is how high you hold the rod tip. Also try removing the entire rear split ring and treble hook and replacing the front hook with a # 6. If a fish happens to strike and you do not hook up, just stop reeling and drop the rod tip. This works all the time.
  12. Palomar, Trilene, and starting to use the Uni-knot some.
  13. I can with all honesty say they are a great small mouth bait. I am sure you can catch large mouth on them also.
  14. There have been studies that show lipping bass causes harm as well.
  15. Mike, the action of rod boating fish is more of a quick swing than a lift. I do this regularly and have never had a problem. If landing the fish is important, make sure you have them hooked well or you could lose a fish. If I am in question I sometimes set the hook again, especially with small treble hooks, I sometimes replace hooks on cranks/lipless cranks with smaller ones so they become more weedless.
  16. I normally have a decent opinion of Lightening Rods, but not the Hank Parker series. I was given one, and I gave it away. That quick connect reel seat is a joke, it did not hold my reels snugly, and I tried a few. JMO.
  17. Packing peanuts.
  18. Rob G. replied to Redtail's topic in Fishing Tackle
Redtail, in clear water I would use white, or even grey with silver blade/blades. I would burn this bait, you do not want the fish to get a good look at it, you are going to get a reaction strike with this bait. Just stay with subtle colors then experiment with blade design and size and you will catch fish.
  19. A lot of people make crap of Bill Dance, but he is making a good living fishing. What are you all doing to make a living? I would not bet my skills against Bill Dance, would you? Next time you jerks are at work and are thinking about how much you hate your jobs, think about how Bill Dance feels. He also used to make a decent buck in the early days of tourny fishing.
  20. Jiangtao, Thanks for the proper translation. We would have slaughtered this for a long time!
  21. Does anyone have any personal experience with Triple Fish Ultra Viz line? Please share your opinions. Thanks!!!
  22. Got a pic?
  23. I gotta agree with most everyone else. A couple/few years ago I decided to save a few bucks and I tried them. I gave them away. They are not as sharp as other brands and quickly dull after light use. Junk in my opinion.
  24. I like the Gambler Swimblades better than the original Rad Lures Chatterbait. Never had a problems. Better hook and less lost fish than the Rad Lures stuff.
  25. IMO live bait is cheating.
