  1. This has happened to me numerous times in a few of my spots. I take pics off all my decent size fish as well.
  2. Sounds like a great day congrats
  3. Man I am a die hard Heat fan and I was on edge this whole series. Game 6 was the best finals game I have ever seen and game 7 was a classic as well EPIC series
  4. Yea way I see it is that a scale I won't lose so it's a pretty solid investment especially here in FL where your chances of catching a big fish are increased. That fish you caught classifies as a FL fish lol
  5. Awesome letter my son is 1 and I hope one day I recoeve a letter like that.
  6. That's a nice fat fish! I don't understand why more people don't have scales a nice digital one is only $20. I've had my rapala digital for a long time.
  7. Try a weightless t rigged senko. Fish it slow with pauses. For me the 6" and 7" senkos and yum Mightee worm 10.5" work really well I've caught a lot of big bass on em so far this season
  8. I bought a rod from dicks broke the tip 2 weeks later and took it back and they exchanged it for me. I know they also offer warranties when u purchase rods from them. They give u the full amount you paid for rod and you can either replace or buy a different one
  9. Sounds like a good morning
  10. Exactly why I think my scale was off because I see a lot of pics and my fish trumps em. I caught one te other day that was 5-12 and the one in my avatar looked double the size. I have a new scale BTW
  11. A few different watermelon colors, red and black two tone, green and light green two tone, and June bug. The fish only bite the 6" and 7" senkos all others were the 5" I guess size does matter to fish and women You should order some from tackle warehouse.com they are the same price at bass pro and shipping is cheap. You can ask a manager at bass pro and they will order them, or check out Dick's Sporting Goods (as long as you don't go to the one I do you should find them).
  12. Nice fish man what part of NJ were you fishing in? I lived in Monmouth County
  13. I have noticed that other senko type baits fail in comparison to senkos. The two main spots that I fish they ONLY attack one type of senko and that's a 6" or 7" in black with blue flakes I have no idea why this is. I had one left and decided to go with different colors and sizes, I only have the black and blue flake ones in the 6" and 7" sizes. After pulling em in left and right I spent about 2 hours with no luck on about 5 or 6 different color senkos. I got frustrated and decided to use my last 6" black and blue flake and wouldn't you know I pulled in 4 on consecutive casts before my worm was too mangled to even get it to stay on the hook. I have no idea why they only want this type of senko but I went to dicks sporting goods and bought every single pack that they had on the self in the 6" size, I think I ended up leaving with about 13 bags of em.
  14. Nice fish an pics man. I will be back in NJ on August to visit friends and family I will definitely be doing some fishing while I am there. Can't compare FL fish and NJ fish but it will be fun fishing some of the old spots I use to when I was growing up
  15. I fish the same thing and I try to focus on any type of underwater structure if there is any, most residential lakes are man made so there won't be any logs or trees etc. I also try to find some vegetation to concentrate around. If you find little pockets in the vegetation try throwing soft plastics in there or a top water lure running across it. I generally like to throw senkos and trick worms, for me the bigger the better. My go to soft plastics are 6 to 7" senkos and my favorite Yum Mightee Worm 10.5" all in dark colors. Crankbaits, buzz baits, spinners, and jigs are in constant rotation when I am fishing neighborhood lakes. Each lure is specific to the waters that I am fishing. Main thing is to find out what they are biting on, easie said then done, and keep reeling em in
  16. All very good information that Sam provided for you that basically sums everything you need to know up
  17. I might have to invest in some mega strike after reading this post. I have never really fell into "hype products" because I feel they are just that. For instance I've been watching the bassmasters and major league fishing as well as other fishing shows and they all SWORE by fish sticks saying how you are guaranteed to catch more fish... FALSE. Literally every time I apply it it makes no difference I don't get any bites lol. No missed strikes or anything. Seems like without it, cuz I haven't been using it due to lack of success, I do just fine. This year my timing with setting the hook seems to be flawless. I have caught over 200 fish so far with not too many missed hook sets. If this mega strike stuff really makes a difference I will probably pick up some to test it out. Hopefully for me it performs better than the fish sticks hype product!
  18. Best advise I can give on catching the big one is to have your line in the water
  19. Sounds like a good day nice pics man
  20. Nice fish do you have 5? What's your total length?
  21. I would say it's between 5 and 6. The one in my avatar is 6lbs 10oz
  22. Man I never seem to have ANY luck with crank baits. Few times I used em nothing but dinks. I am more of a soft plastics and jig fishermen
  23. Tackle warehouse.com their 2 day shipping price is very reasonable But I would second what MCS said Gander Mountain and Dicks. You might not have Gander by you but most likely you have Dicks. (Dicks Sporting Goods is my spot! I got 2 free abu Garcia reels and I bought a St. Croix rod and I broke the tip pulling in a 3 pounder, was my fault. Took of back to dicks was trying to think of a lie to tell em and they just told me to go pick out another one... Now that's excellent customer service!)
  24. Nice fat fish congrats
