  1. Personally I don't understand it when people say this. To me the powell and dobyns rods I have held feel tip heavy, and all my st croix rods and others I have handled felt weighted about right. Granted the only powell and dobyns I've held are the savvy and max so maybe the higher end of those brands are a little lighter. I've never used an Avid but I have 2 rage casting and 1 spinning, and 1 LTB spinning and they are all fine rods.
  2. We used to tow a buddy's 16' deep V tracker with a ford escape and it did just fine. Stopping was a little hairy sometimes but as long as you pay attention and anticipate your stops you'll be fine. I had an explorer for about a year and towed our 18' fish n ski with it. It obviously did not have as much power as I would have liked with the V6, but it could handle it. We have trailer brakes so stopping was not an issue. If you don't have trailer brakes the problem you'll run into is a lot of extra wear on your vehicle's brakes.
  3. Snowing in KS right now.... it was 85 two days ago.
  4. One. 7'10" BPS Extreme for swimbaits.
  5. 38" Pike on 8lb mono and a 6' M spinning rod. Not really sure how much it weighed but it was a LONG fight!!!
  6. I would take it back to BPS. I had a veritas break on me two years ago after using it for about two weeks and they took it back without any hassle.
  7. It does. '93 Evinrude Intruder 175hp. I'm not going to pretend like I know anything about this stuff, but from what my dad was telling me it should read right around 14 volts if it were charging properly.
  8. I agree. Took it to Olathe last night and the motor started up just fine, but it was only reading 13 volts when the motor was running. I guess I'll just have to charge after every use. Did catch a couple including a CHUNKY 15"-er. Picture doesn't actually show how fat this fish was.
  9. What are the specs on that rod? I have the eakins jig rod that is 6'10" MH and it's a really versatile rod, don't even use it for jigs.
  10. Simple fix, thanks Haven't used it since the fall get together. Taking it out to Olathe tonight to get the motor running and check the battery to see if it's charging. Hopefully it was just dead.
  11. I'll hopefully be out there wednesday or thursday next week, as long as I've figured out our battery issues.
  12. First: 7' MH/F BPS Carbonlite BPS Pro Qualifier 7.1:1 3/8 oz "Biffle Head" wobble jighead and Lake Fork Tube Craw Fish was only about 16" Biggest: 7'1" MH/XF St Croix Rage BPS Pro Qualifier 7.1:1 Homemade Finesse jig with a craw trailer Fish weighed 4 lb 4 oz
  13. Netbait. Their finesse worms are cheaper than zoom and they thread onto a screw lok a little easier because of the flat head.
  14. I don't know if it's because I have a big hand, but I hold the trigger between my middle and ring finger.
  15. Rage Casting 7'1" MH/F and 7'1" MH/XF Rage Spinning 6'10" ML/XF Legend Tournament Spinning 6'10" M/XF Shimano Citica 200G6 Shimano Cardiff 301A BPS Extreme Casting 7'10" H/XF Bunch of other little things but those were the biggest purchases.
  16. Nice going! That's a healthy fish for Gardner.
  17. Not the 6'6'', but I use a Lowrider 6'10" MH for bigger jerkbaits. Not its intended use as the rod was made for jigs but I've found it to be a good rod for moving baits. Also a good rod for squarebills.
  18. The rage and the legend tournament bass 6'10" ML/XF would be good options. I use the 6'10" rage for finesse baits, but several people on the forum have recommended it as a drop shot rod.
  19. In my boat probably around 12, if in somebody else's boat around 6-8 depending on the lake.
  20. That 13" smallie was one of the most violent surface strikes I've ever seen.
  21. I got this one last year on sale and used about $15 worth of points to get it for $40. I like it. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Rolling-Rod-Carts/product/10215371/
  22. Quality boats. Our '93 280 SF is still running strong.
