  1. When I was about six or so me and dad were in a Jon boat. I was throwing a rattle trap. I got to leaving more and more slack on the end of the line every cast cause I could throw it farther. Stupid me...... I went to cast and the trap hit me in the side of the head. The rear treble went through my ear lobe and the trap pulled my ear around and the front treble stuck n my eyebrow to the bend. I freaked and threw my poll. Dad turned around when I went to squealing. He freaked cause my face was covered in blood. Thought it had went I to my eye. I was crying saying "my poll! My poll!" Him thinking I was upset my poll was in the water " said quit worrying bout your d$&@ poll" lol then he realized it was pulling on the side of my head and pulled it up. He cut the barb off on the ear one. poked the other one on out and cut the barb off. Still laugh today about him freaking out and me "worrying" bout my poll Also worse then I remember that hurting, and I remember it hurting, when was a teenager me and dad were fishing. He got hung in a willow tree with a jig. He was jerking and it popped loose about the time I turned around. It was flying at my head and I threw my hand up. The lead head smacked me right on the knuckle. Freaking hurt!!!! Thought it broke it. When the swelling finally went down after three or four days it was fine.
  2. Pline cxx its stupid strong, but is kinda wirey so put some line and lure conditioner on it and u will be fine.
  3. Totally depends on the time of the year for me. Daylight, noonish, and afternoon to late afternoon all produce depending on the time of year. My pb came right at sunset, my pb before that one was right at noon. Go figure.
  4. The Alabama rig, though it will just be for fun as I can't use it in my tournaments.
  5. Love it just watched last nights episode.
  6. Congrats!
  7. We hit 80 several days in a row, one of wich I had my first club tourney. Since then it has barely gotten above 40 and as been snowing on and off.
  8. No line conditioner will not take care of loops. They are caused from twist not stiffness.
  9. www.mannsbait.com Found it, Alabama rig V. It has 9 arms!
  10. Manns is coming out with one. I seen it at the classic expo. Don't remember how many arms it had but it was a bunch.
  11. Normally I would "stupid rig" a tube for weedless but those small one I don't think would work. I use the strike king tiny ones on occasion in the creeks nearby and just use a 1/0 ewg. The hook is long but the point comes far enough back in to bury it into the plastic. So basically rig it normal and let the extra hook just hang out the back and put the point into the body like a normal Texas rig. Looks funny but the fish don't care.
  12. U didn't miss much. It was terrible yesterday at least it was for me. Winner had 17 but no one was even close to that. Second had 13 and everyone else was under 8lbs. I would imagine today would have been terrible fishing in the rain and a slow bite.
  13. Have the same scale and mine is way way off. It is way under and the higher the weight the worse it gets off
  14. Watermelon candy, green pumpkin and Houdini
  15. Well u have a great chance on tenkiller to catch a smallie. It's the best smallmouth fishery around IMO. If I wasn't fishing I would go over and show u around. I am very familiar with the lake. If u are going tomorrow stay towards the dam end. I heard the other end was muddy from all the rain. They said there were trees floating around.
  16. My first club tournament is Saturday on tenkiller which is also my "home" lake. Went last weekend and it was brutally tough but with this weather it may pick up.
  17. Went last weekend in 25-30 on alake that gets very bad in the wind. I just avoid the bad parts and stay on the leeward side and out of the wind. I also have a lake that doesn't matter how much the wind is blowing its fairly calm. Sheltered by mountains on all sides.
  18. carbonlite, duckett or kistler klx. Make sure it is balanced as others have stated
  19. Nope google it, there are several different makers. It is a jig head with a soft bill that kinda makes it like a crankbait.
  20. Should have said also that if I'm going after a keeper and its that late I'm going to get a Kentucky.
  21. Keeper smaller ribbon tail worm like the zoom u tale on a 1/8 shakey head. That helped me fill my limit several times last year. For a kicker jig with a paca craw.
  22. I haven't done it yet but I have a habit of tossing my bait in the floor and reeling it up. I have cut the wrong side before but by doing that I don't loose the bait over the side of the boat lol. What makes the story funnier is last fall he got a jig out. Trimmed it all up where it looked good, put a trailer, repositioned it so it was nice and straight......then tossed it over the side of the boat......like he always does........without tieing it on.
  23. A lot of higher end rods are rated at mh 3/4 oz. doesn't mean u shouldn't move up a step with the falcon just saying.
  24. I fished today on tenkiller, bite was really slow. Good luck!
