  1. What are you going to use it for? The DX is a sweet little hunny!
  2. I'm at a loss here. I can't get this bait to suspend to save my life. With the stock split rings, it sinks like a rock. I've replaced all 3 split rings from a LC that are super small. It still sinks but really slow. I've got my water tank down to 40 degrees and it still sinks. I've tried it in several different lakes too and it sinks. Bait is a legit Megabass and has no cranks and is not taking on any water. My only other option is to replace the hooks with #8's but I really don't want to go that small. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  3. I asked the same question here about 2 months ago and was given several recommendations for Sunline Super Natural Mono in 12#. So far I am pleased. I am using a MF rod for my jerkbaits and the extra stretch does help when the fish takes a run at the boat. I havent lost one yet. I am going to give it a couple of months and then try a fluoro like Invix that has some stretch
  4. My favorites so far have been the Pro Blue and the Auora Black. I was given the recommendation of Chartreuse Shad as well. So far its been a pretty good but I haven't landed anything really picture worthy on it yet. I left all my jerkbaits at home the other day except for the one in my truck. It was a Cosmic Shad by Luck E Strike. I don't see a similar color with the Pointers, but I caught 7 over 2 pounds in less than an hour with it.
  5. They wear me out fishing them. Same with spinnerbaits. I've caught my share of fish on them, but anymore I'd rather fish a jig or a jerkbait.
  6. The Avid would be a great rod at your price range. If you wanted to jump to a Dobyns Champion, Ron with beat the big box boys can probably get within 20-25 dollars of your mark. I love my Avid's don't get me wrong as I have 3, but for bottom baits, the Dobyns Champion line feels better.
  7. Once again a member here mistakes what people have said, twists it around and gets their panties in a wad. One word of advice, never text, tweet, call, FB or post when your mad. Give it 24 hours and replay the entire situation. Call again and ask to speak to a manager. Being in the customer service line of work all my life has taught me one thing. You get more with sweet honey than a bitter yard bird attitude.
  8. Agreed. Richard or Gary will set you with what may be the best fit.
  9. Yes sir. The one on the left is a watermelon red on a Salsa jig and the right is an Alabama craw.
  10. I do the tank test first with the water about 40 degrees then take them out into the lake. Its usually spot on. These two jumped to the top like a crankbait.
  11. Well they showed up today. First Rogues that didn't suspend kit of the box. I had to add a full suspend dot to one and 1/2 to the other.
  12. Agreed. They stick to everything. The Xcalibers used to have them stock but the last 4 I've got have came with VMC short shanks.
  13. I have gathered a pretty goof selection of jerkbaits over the last few months. LC's a couple of megabass etc. Every pointer and even my two megabass baits had to have a either a split ring or suspend strip added to get them to suspend. My limited Rogues have had nothing. They suspend perfectly. It may just be the water hasn't hit below 40 yet or some weird fluke, but I can't explain it.
  14. I didn't see that color or over looked it. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks.
  15. Were they the TX3's? Those are far from being junk hooks.
  16. I was shipping for some VMC hooks that I didn't have to spend 10 bucks shipping on and came across these Rogues. Seems they are made exclusively for Cabelas. Anyone ever use these? I got the Table Rocm Shad and Watermelon red. Both look amazing, however I can't find any real decent reviews or info on them.
  17. No worries bud. If I have to replace the part it's around 12 bucks. I appreciate the offer, but you had no idea the bearing was going out. It was smooth as butter when I got it lol.
  18. I forgot to update this. I spent the better part of two hours between Mike ant DVT and Shimano. I changed the gears, lubes it all up and finally found the tick. Its in the roller clutch bearing. I swamped the new one out of my CH50E and it went away. I'm in the process of spraying it out and soaking it now. Will re lube and try it again.
  19. So far all have been excellent responses. Just to add, the Rapala DT series of cranks have served me very well. The Academy Sports in my area have most marked down to less than 3 bucks a piece.
  20. As to ensure that you as a new member does not get run off or offened by any statements made prior to mine, yes with all the upgrades available the possibilites are endless. More so for the low profile reels than the round. An inexpensive way to start is with drag washers and new bearings. As for anything else on the inside, my knowledge ends there. Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle can help you better. As for the outside, I know Hawgtech makes a carbon fiber handle and cork knobs that will fit both. Abu makes a carbon fiber swept handle and EVA knobs for the low profile. You can also break the bank on new spools, custom paint and the list goes on.
  21. Thanks for the report man. We had an employee that got sick so I worked all my days off. I am planning on make the trip out there Wednesday.
  22. Really anything. I even pitch rattle traps under trees and docks. My favorite is jigs and tubes on a shakey head.
