Snyder looks best for all boats and engine size to rowboats. I've put my Lil' 12' semi in James cr one year with just a trolling motor. took all day to fish the section and never made it to the main lake but boat traffic was heavy. Tree tops below 25' if your trolling. Never tried snyder but looks more like no wake zones and steep drops. A better deal for the Lil guy.

I agree with nate on this one. Heck of a time trying to troll at 100 mph. Maybe the PA. T/P in the hammer lane down hill. Just kidding about the trolling.

Raystown has more everything and that's what we want. Fishing to soon in these sleeper lakes could be poor with all this heatwave conditions now. Once the crowd leaves Raystown lake it becomes alive. These smaller lakes need some good rain.

Perry co. Little Buffalo State Park but I guess DCNR renamed it HOLMAN lake just like they did to Pinchot that was once called Conowego lake or somthing like that.

Who's up for a PA meet up? Raystown James Creek Launch Sept. 25th 8am meet
Don't know what happen to my post so I'll try something diffrent. looks like September! right? Now the lakes Redman is weedless w/ 32'base but steep drop offs and two bay flats. Williams is weedless with a 30' base and its upper 5th off limits to boats + its muddy up that end. redman has structure and williams lacks structure and williams is still limited to just cartop boating ( no trailers yet ). Each lake is armed with big stripers, walleye,ch cats, bass,. Yes the lakes mentioned on the survey allows your gas motor on the boat as long as it is off ( speaking of the question about redman in the post.). Next marburg > I no nothing except it gets draw downs. Blue Marsh > That will be to much for small electric motors. Long Pine Res. Does anyone know of this hidden lake? Not much parking. Pinchot lake > tea colored and most productive in its upper weedbeds, Possibilities exist... Susky > to much for a electric only boat. Raystown> if we stay in snyders run or james creek area ( no wake ). Walker > just had a fish die off and thow its better days are in the fall but limited to the deeper half. Surprised no one mentioned Holman lake. Got parking, structure and the fish and not tea colored.

Black Moshannon State Park, Cetral Pa
Funny about that Iced tea effect and I'm not sure about the bog cause I see Pinchot and Sweet Arrow looking the same way and neither had this color 20 years ago and the headwaters don't have that look either. I'm thinking fungus or pollution leakage. Can't get answers on that subject .

Lake Williams- York, PA
I just ment "water supply" not the weeds and grass. Redman has shelfs like 8',15' then its base but weedless and open. Great for stripers.Williams has shallow points and drop offs and clear water. Each lake holds fish down 30' depths . Redman has lots of manmade structure and williams has mostly natural structure
-
Lake Williams- York, PA
Like marburg they are water supply dams and almost weedless . They are limited of fisherman according to the smaller parking spaces. I still make structure maps of these lakes if anyone is intrested.

Central PA lakes
Sounds like we have our own gulf oil problem. Gulf of WALKER.

Central PA lakes
Any ink on this lake subject of walker or is this just word of mouth??? Trying to figure out why only the carp and crappie. I do know that these two species congregate in shallow headwaters of lakes in the spring season till about the end of may. This could be the reason it did not effect the bass, pike & cats.

Faylor Lake - May 22 2010
If your open for advise > I have some tips that would ring the dinner bell at faylor but I would like to see fish of size from this lake before I go knocking on the PGC door for mapping business.Took 4 years for PFBC approval.

Faylor Lake - May 22 2010
I was thinking bigger fish than that or you would think with the POWER restrictions on boaters. I don't think you would fair that well at walker lake by foot since its a longated lake with uneasy paths if any. I did finish my first map of walker today after 8 months of researching it but I don't see doing faylor because of the restrictions on power ( rowing only with boats ). I'll e-mail you Nate!

Fishing show again
Wellsville show this weekend for all you southern south cental pa. fishermen. For you who never gone to this show its about a mile west of Pinchot lake.
-
Eastern Outdoors show (Harrisburg)
I would go every other year till I noticed the big drop in local tackleshops and the rise of out of state trips. Most of the show is out of the state in the fishing department. So I say > keep going and supporting the little local shows that have local dealers and less than $5 to get in and free parking outside. I believe the site is http://tackleshows.com about 5 states worth of mini shows. and badbass94 I believe there is one down your way in wellsville next month that I'm a vender at.
-
Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show- Harirsburg, PA
As I always say > go to the local shows > for a few bucks to get in and free parking > its 70% fishing or better. I'll be at 2 local shows displaying structure maps. Tri state locations for 2010 > www.tackleshows.com I believe.

Re: 1000 acres or less lakes: Lining up spots for next year
Only will comment on the lakes I visited this year starting with speadbeads lakes York Co.- Pinchot, Redman, Williams. Lebanon co,- Memorial lake. Schuylkill co.- Sweet Arrow, Tuscarora. Snyder County - Walker lake, Perry Co.- Holman lake. I know these all to well.

pinchot lake for largemouth?
A better way to put that is to fish the upper flats. Go in at the launch located at Rt. 177 bridge and fish the flats and creek channel from the headwaters to the camp grounds . Don't let the weeds keep you out of the flats. This area holds the most oxygenated water this time of year. You can also view this on my lake structure maps if intrested.

Pinchot Lake, anyone?
I think speedbead was going to look at my map last year but didn't get to Pinchot at that time. Anyway we just finished up mapping Tuscarora lake in Schuykill Couinty. 2 weeks ago in the upper 1/3 'd and its headwaters of the Tusk. we found pods of fish in the depths from 3' - 10'. the water clairity was 8' + and we spotted big bluegill ( large size or bull ) some musky and Lm bass . Most bass were in two groups 12" and less and some pods had 12"-16" size and then single bass that truely over 18" ( + ) some of them big brutes followed the underwater camera for lenthy time. Now this past weekend we were at the deep end (dam ) and less activity infact I was thinking of going back up the lake because of all the fish but thats not why I was there. Very clean lake ( unlike pinchot ) but limited to boat trailers like lake redman. You got to be at the lake by 7am to get a spot.

Tioga County PA - Beechwood Lake?
I'll PM you in a few about a fishing site for that area. You get alot of traffic for that area on that site. Sometimes you just have to know one of the dozen sites in the state that will pick-up on your question.
