  1. I’m going to be Debbie downer here and say save your money, get a good education, get a good job and then you can afford what you really want. Having a boat is great but it’s just a hole in the water that you throw your money in. Make sure you can afford one before you buy one.
  2. McCoy does have spinning specific ones.
  3. I just changed the impeller on mine this fall. Easy job for one guy to do. Lots of youtube videos on it. Just make sure you get the right impeller kit. Comes with impeller housing, impeller, and new gaskets and spacers.
  4. My Garmin's will connect together using NMEA0183 protocol and at least supply waypoints between each other and some other basic shared info. Some of the newer Garmin's that support NMEA2000 can share more.
  5. I use a JBL Flip 3 bluetooth speaker if I want to listen to anything on the water. It's not going to be loud enough that someone 50' from me is going to hear what I'm listening to, although I usually just listen to talk shows.
  6. I wear a pair of Teva Evo water shoes when I fish. They work especially well when I am in my kayak as they have spider rubber soles and really grip wet and slimy rocks well if I have to get out to portage. Other times I wear some Teva sandals or if it's cooler and I know I'm not going to be getting my feet wet I'll just wear a pair of running shoes.
  7. Thunderbird just to the SE of town is close but they call it dirty bird for a reason. Tough lake for bass although it holds some decent ones. All the good OK lakes are about 2 1/2 hours east of OKC. Eufaula, Ten Killer, Fort Gibson, etc.
  8. Hopefully your dryer doesn't catch on fire now that it's full of all the lint that was in your lint tube.
  9. There's lots of them out there.
  10. St. Croix just came out with a 2-piece 7'1" Mojo that is available for preorder
  11. Yep, pretty slow for the last few days for me too.
  12. I tried this with clear shrink tubing for wacky rigs and it didn't work very well. I would have a nice bite and go to set the hook and all I'd get back was a bare hook with the shrink tubing threaded through the it. The fish would completely suck the worm out of the rig and I'd lose the worm. Unless this silicone ring is different and grips the worm more I'm fairly certain the same thing would happen.
  13. Them sticking together doesn't affect their performance in my experience. I usually stretch them out before using them anyways to get the salt out so doing that gets them back into the shape they need to be. I keep them in their original packaging to keep them from melting in boxes and to keep them away from plastisol baits. I keep all my plastics stored in gallon sized ziploc bags and I keep all my elaztec baits in the same bag.
  14. I prefer the P-line CX Premium for an all around line. I use CXX on one of my casting rods, and I only have that because they were out of the CX Premium at the time I bought it. CXX can be really stiff and I can see why people wouldn't use it on spinning reels. I use CX Premium on two of my spinning reels though and it works great. Still super strong line although it is a lot more manageable on a spinning rig. I used to like Yo-Zuri Hybrid as an all around line but I think it tends to have a pretty bad memory if it's not used for a while. Line and lure spray helps a little but it still gets pretty springy.
  15. Makes it hard to drag a boat around.
  16. This is what I use also. I had one that wasn't rubberized like this one and I kept having to cut hooks out of it. So make sure you get one that has a rubberized net material.
  17. Branson. Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Beaver, and Taneycomo. Best of all worlds. Weather is decent for most of the year.
  18. Here is the YouTube video for that.
  19. It’s in the BPS Black Friday ad Yep. Didn’t see the 93sv was on sale too.
  20. The Garmin echomap 73sv CHIRP is going to be on sale for less than $500 at BPS for Black Friday sales. That's a deal that's hard to beat.
  21. The Classic is up for grabs for anyone to win if they can qualify for it. Look at the recent wins. Casey Ashley won because he was on his home waters. Edwin Evers also won because he was on his home waters. Jordan Lee was out of it after the first day and got lucky with a few big fish to win. Same with Randy Howell, got lucky and found fish stacked and caught a bunch of good ones. Then you look at a couple other recent ones like Cliff Pace and Chris Lane. You really don't hear their names much anymore. Well you hear about them but they aren't making much noise in many tournaments. I think the AOY is much more prestigious because it shows that an angler can fish many types of different water and can string together a bunch of good finishes in a row.
  22. To go with what J Franco said, there may be 2 vent screws at the top of the lower unit, my 60hp Merc does. Make sure you put the screw in the vent that is closer to the prop and leave the one in the front out before you start pumping lube into the bottom hole. That way the lube gets all in where it needs to get before it starts coming out the front vent.
  23. Fogging helps coat the cylinders and valves with a film of oil so they don’t get rust on them if the engine sits for more than a couple months over the winter. With a 4 stroke there will always be a valve open on one of the cylinders when it is off so moisture can get in and cause rust. Two strokes don’t have this issue due to the way the piston can cover the intake port so no moisture can get inside the cylinder. If you won’t be keeping the engine shut off for more than a couple weeks or so you don’t have to fog it.
  24. I'm a fan of Lew's reels now after having owned two of them now.
  25. Heh, I just asked the same thing just before you posted.
