  1. I just bought a Damiki Dolphin as I have heard good things about them. They are 3 1/2" long and weigh 2/5oz. Supposedly really easy to walk. Trying it out in a few weeks on some stream smallies. I usually use a KVD Sexy Dawg Jr. or a Sammy100.
  2. My friend just got a new dog. It's a Labradoodle. Funny thing is the father dog is a 4lb black poodle and the mom dog is a 100lb yellow lab. That just goes to show that the stereotype of the skinny black poodles like the fat white b!+@#es.
  3. If that were the case there sure would be a lot of dead fish laying around my wife's family pond. Which there aren't.
  4. I use both YoZuri and P-line CX Premium, and I tend to like the P-line better.
  5. Good thing he clinched yesterday because Martens couldn't weigh in today. Broke his jackplate and was stranded out in the middle of Erie somewhere.
  6. No, soft jerkbait. But the ones with split tails fished weightless texas rigged can be very effective on smallies...
  7. 50% of the time I use a 6'6" M spinning rod for stream smallmouth with 8-10lb Pline CX Premium. The rest of the time it's my 6'10" MH casting rod when I'm using topwater baits. This time of year I'd be using some WTD lures like spooks, sexy dawgs, and sammy's. Fun stuff right there...
  8. Catch some bigger ones and fry them up. They are pretty good eating. They are in the same family as walleye and sauger.
  9. Good to know...It'd be disheartening to get a nice fish on there only to have it break off because the coating on the line has a nick in it...
  10. The last 2 fall seasons I've had good luck with square bill Bombers on rip rap banks. They hit it in 2-3' of water.
  11. Strike king makes a 1XS that is 0-2ft. http://www.***.com/Strike_King_Pro_Model_Series_1XS_Crankbaits/descpage-SKPMXS.html
  12. I'd make for good TV I guess...People like to see blood when watching shows...lol
  13. I agree, the way they swing them up into the boat and into their body was no worse than then letting them hit the deck of the boat. I just don't know how entertaining the show will be now with the anglers sitting in timeout for half the show. I guess they'll learn fast enough. They are best pro's in the world after all...
  14. This one is going to be a tough one to follow. Every angler the last 3 seasons has broken this rule with just about every fish. http://majorleaguefishing.com/news_details.aspx?id=2129
  15. For anyone else using this line, do you have problems with it getting nicked up really easy? I was out using it the other day and had a backlash. After pulling the line out I was reeling it back in with the line between my finger and thumb and I could feel (and see) numerous nicks in the coating of the 50-75' of line that I was reeling in. The lake I was fishing doesn't have a lot of debris in it so I'm not real sure where these nicks are coming from other than from the line twisting? I'm fairly sure these are weakening the line strength. I haven't hooked up with a fish on this line since noticing the nicks so I'm not sure if it is hurting it or not. I'm using the 20# line.
  16. Catch one of those on a mulberry "fly" on a 5wt fly rod and you are in for a good time.
  17. I built mine out of a couple pneumatic tires from Harbor Freight($10@) a length of 1/2" threaded rod, some PVC pipe, a couple of PVC T-fittings, and some PVC caps. Looks very similar to this one. Mine uses the scupper holes BTW since its a sit on top. http://www.watermanatwork.com/KayakFishing/KayakRigging/KayakCarts/KayakCarts.html
  18. I've found the Ish frogs easier to walk, and they don't fill up with water like the pad crashers do.
  19. Curious little fellas aren't they?
  20. The string trick works with any hook, any size. Treble, single, whatever. Might have been a little more tricky with it that close to his eye, but with a couple other people it could have been done, and he would have only had one hole in his face instead of 2. Although reading the OP's post he said he had 2 hooks past the barb. That would have made the string trick a little more tricky.
  21. Did you use the string trick to get it out?
