Storm Wild Eye Swim Shad
My daughter picked them up for my birthday last year along with other Storm baits. I was determine to catch something with them, and worked very well the first day. I've got smaller size and was perfect to throw over the weeds with spinning set up steady and twitch, steady and twitch worked very well. The smaller ones tend to go side ways if you retrieve too fast. I later got bigger size of that and caught 21" doing the same over the weed.

Drop Shot Mistakes?
I've got to check my nearest Walmart out. BTW, have you had this hook failed on you? It happened only once to me, but the very first hookset I gave, the tip of the hook broke off. So I am liking them with a bit of concern on the back of my head. So far, it appears to be isolated incidence... I rig with one size smaller line for the weight line. My lines and weight are heavier then what's usually recommended too (I don't see the need to be that finesse for what I am doing). I then tie the weight instead of just using the quick attach on the weight. This way I can pull harder to set the weigh free when snagged. And if they cannot be free, I only lose the weight or bottom part of the rig. It also helps when you got a fish, and weight get tangled in the brush or something, because you have better chance getting the fish and lose the weight and line to the brush. (This happened.) When you cast from shore and dragging towards you with 45 degree angled line, instead of vertical drop from a boat, the weight needs to be heavier, otherwise it moves too much (just like c-rig).

Drop Shot Mistakes?
I drop shot from shore. The way I use it is like c-rig fishing except the bait is off the bottom. I cast it out as far as I can to get to the deep part of the water because fish are in the deep now. Then move a bit and wait with line tight. Dead stick or shake a bit, whatever you feel like it. Then after some pause, I move a bit again. Repeat until the bait comes back to me. Since I am not looking at fishfinder, I am constantly searching. I dropshot both finesse and non-finesse. I recently started using VMC spin-shot hook (both finesse and non-finesse), I'm liking it so far.

Anyone Tried The Team Daiwa T Series Rods?
I bought 6'6" M bait caster last summer and I really like it. I like how the Fuji grip feel on my hand. I have Citica on it (at the moment). Feel light fishing with it. All though it is M, I feel it is close to Shimano's M/H. I might feel that way, because of shorter lengths that other rods I have? Or maybe Shimano's ratings are on lighter side? I don't know. Anyhow, I just picked up a second one, spinning 6'6" M 2pc to go with recently bought Sahara on sale. When this rod arrived, my daughter wanted to fish with it because it is very pretty with blue.

Riverside Lures
I bought some of their lures off eBay. Some of them had package beaten up a little.

Lures For Winter Mornings?
I don't know how warm/cold where you are, but where I am bites are better after sun warmed up the water a little bit this time of the year.

Drop Shot Bite
Are you changing the timing of the hook setting based on A ), B ) or C )? I mean, C ) is easy, but other two. I kind of hold setting a hook just a bit with B ) and my bait is rather longer thinking the hook might not be in fish's mouth yet.

Leader Knot
Thank you for your reply everyone! I was wondering about the same thing. The little booklet comes with PowerPro has this thing called "Lock" which is to "finish the Arbright". I have 30lbs main line basically for summer when I go to heavily vegetated water. I don't bother with leader there. In winter, I fish open water with usually clear water, so I just put some leader to it to make it okay.

Deep Bass
I've never knew about this...I'm curious, If you poke a hole on the bladder, they can go down because of no air in the bladder, but can they inflate the bladder okay afterwards?

Deep Bass
Found a couple of homemade release weight rigs made with downward hook and weight: http://www.pensacolafishingforum.com/f21/weighted-fish-release-110727/ http://fishwrecked.com/image/fish-release-weight

Deep Bass
Tom, do they not spit out the weight before they reach the bottom? And I assume you jerk at the bottom to let them let go of the weight?

Leader Knot
M/F rated for 8-15lbs. I'm probably guilty of having the drag too tight although I loosened up some compared to when I was using fluorocarbon on the same set up. Yet I expected the weakest point of my set up to be the knot of the hook, not the knot where two lines meet. This brings me to the next question...how much do you loosen up when you are using braid, so that you have enough give yet you get good hooksets? When I am not using braid, I just pull the line with my hand and I set it to where I feel right. (And that was fine.)

Leader Knot
What would be your choice of knot to tie 10lb flouro to 30lbs braid? I had three bites today and I missed them all. One of them was because of failure of the knot between leader and braid. I hate thinking a fish with line dangling swimming (hopefully still swiming). I was using Albright. Is uni to uni better?

Figuring Out How Much Backer To Use For Braid
I was wondering how you guys are figuring out how much backer to use when you fill your reels? I've made some mistake before and the line I want to fish with came out too short. Now I don't use backing line, but I feel I am wasting. How do you determine how far you are casting? Do you use line counter? I use 30lbs braid with Shimano 2500's spinning and 50lbs/60lbs with Shimano Citica 200, plus I have some vintage Shimanos b/c (20+ years old).

Carolina Rig
I've been back doing lots of c-rig this winter and I do from bank so obviously I do not know what's under there. (Well I kinda have an idea based on what's on the shore and previous experience.) Any soft bait is a good candidate. I sometimes use snap before the worm hook so that I can switch around different baits looking for what fish want that day.

Bass Pro Shop.....
I have been not happy with BPS for some stuff happened last year and have been boycotting them already, bu this will make me more not forgiven. I thought this site being sponsored by BPS, voicing against them might get me kicked out from here..

Heavy Sinking Brush Hog Alternative
I was just looking for heavier bait. Here is the situation. I have this one particular place with large and sharp rocks that seem to eat any type of weight pretty quickly. The best so far was Mojo type of weight, but still get snagged too often. For some reason Brush Hog catches fish there. Currently fish are in the deep. No boat on this lake currently and I am casting as far as I can from the bank. While I don't really want to do weightless, that's what I am planning do. I was wondering if any of you can suggest heavier bait which cast better and sinks faster without use of any weight. If not, I was already thinking about the keel weighted type of hook or parasite type of weight as plan B.

White Craw Plastics
I hear people say to use darker color when the water clarity is very low, but I do not necessary buy this. (I could be a fool.) I recently started to use white color plastic on very murky water with theory that white should reflect small amount of light the most. Jury is still out on this. Something for you to think about. But I am curious to why you were looking for while craw specifically in the first place, if you have to ask this question...

Heavy Sinking Brush Hog Alternative
I'm looking for something similar to brush hog, but something heavier and something sinks faster. Anyone know of any? When I say something similar, I am talking 5", or preferably more like 6" long and has some bulk and action with arms/tails/legs.

Crankbait Line
x2. I think I'm gonna try Yo Zuri and see for myself too. (And will decide which one I like best.)

Best Fiberglass Rod Around 100 $$$
My Shimano Clarus Jig & Worm rod got broken. I went to the local store but they didn't have the same one. They told me I can pick something of equivalent value. I have other rod somewhat similar to the one got broken and I was looking to buy cranking rod, so I picked the cranking one. I haven't fished with it yet, but it does feel good and power & action feels just right. It is very light weight. The retail is $90. I did have to pay for $15 shipping even if it was over the counter exchange though. (But I don't mind. BPS refused to replace.)

Knots!!!
x2, but I cannot do it with gloves (except those with cut off finger tip types).

Crankbait Line
I just got the first crankbait dedicated set up. What type of line do you use? Fluorocarbon for sinking property, braid for smaller diameter or mono for stretchy forgiveness?
