How Do You Personally Decide On A Rod?
To me, trying them out at the store is not very helpful. Probably except for how it feel in the hand with the reel (but I have never done that). At the end, you have to fish it to know it. My suggestion was if you cannot make up your mind, you could give 'details' about your intended use (or could be all purpose rod) and exact model (power, flex and length too) and folks can pitch in with comments (like, oh yeah that rod is too stiff for that or etc...) That's, if you like.

How Do You Personally Decide On A Rod?
If you post your possible choices and how you want to use it on this forum, I'm sure folks will give you some opinion. But at the end, you just have to pick one and go fishing.

Let's Talk Structure...
I've just received the Buck Perry's book and started reading. I like how he explains in very direct way. I came here to to say that I'm loving this book. Didn't realize his theory has been disputed(?) by some.

New Way To Watch Fishing Videos
I just use Sony Blueray to play youtube on TV, but typing with those remote control is p-a-i-n to me. Plus my current favorite fishing tv is www.apstv.net and it won't show up on youtube except for a couple of episodes.

Cabelas Just Pushed Bps In The Mud An Stole His Girlfriend.
It would make an interesting modification for Lexa owners, if you can just buy mag z spool and swap.

Cabelas Just Pushed Bps In The Mud An Stole His Girlfriend.
I was actually not talking about the cost of the break itself, but to redesign the cover to put it just for Cabelas. I'm sure the dimensions are different between the two. If I had Cabelas close by, I'll go there and open up the reel to see. OR, maybe we are seeing next version of Lexa. idk.

Can they fit Mag-z instead of regular mag? That sounds like lots of work for Daiwa...

Opinions Wanted On What I Need To Add Here
MH Casting are my work horse. I have several I bring with me. Sometimes that's all I bring. Very versatile IMHO. (Yet, it depends on the water you fish.)

High Mercury In Water?
Mercury in the water will be passed up the food chain and accumulate in the fish's body over time. So bigger (older) the fish, the more mercury in the fish. If you eat contaminated fish, the mercury is now accumulated in your body, which 'can' make you sick, depending on the amount. If you get sick from Mercury, it is horrible. In our county, all of the lakes are posted with sign, not to eat. They stopped stocking trout, because of that too. But actually just stocked trout has almost no mercury in them. Some people completely ignore such signs.

Gut Hooked Fish
It is still illegal. Otherwise, people can hurt fish on purpose so that they can keep.

Rod Reel Combo For 6 Year Old
No, she doesn't need anything else yet. No need to frustrate her. Let her enjoy and take lots of pictures. That's what I did with two daughters.

Flushing Bearings?
Reading this thread made me wonder if I did correctly when I did my reels. Is the grease in bearing dark colored usually? Will acetone clearly get dirty when you flush out factory grease? I wasn't paying attention how dirty it was, but didn't notice the color...

Dicks Has Hidden Sale On Last Years Bc Reels.
That's great deal. Starting out, I would have gone with two citica's as well. There is only one Dicks around here and it is an hour drive from here. I stopped by once on the way back home after fishing. They didn't seem to have lots of fishing stuff there. Don't remember seeing Curados. I wonder if I can call other store and get them shipped with sales prices...

Your Opinion, To Keep Or Not To Keep The Denali's I Just Scored?
I have no idea about these rods, but since you pop wants them, try before you give to him, so that you can decide if you want to keep a pair yourself. I recently had a similar situation. I scored Fenwich Elite Tech Smallmouth off of eBay. Basically I paid price of one for two brand new rods shipped. My thought was to try one first, if I like it I keep both, otherwise I sell second one in brand new condition with plastic and tag on it. (I kept both )

Jerkbait Rod For 100$
Why wouldn't Chronarch tighten down? Is that because of the reel seat design? I know it has rather unique reel seat. BTW I was wondering if I can carve a little bit of underside cork directly below the reel for better grip.

Shimano Curado 51E With A Loose Sideplate?
I had the same problem with Citica G. when I did the web search, I came across some old article of Citica D (?). If I remember correctly, the article mentioned something about this being common to Shimano's side cover design. I have two of them and they both have some play, but one is more. The direction of the play is when I push the cover towards the rod tip and back. However, I didn't notice this until only after two seasons. But I am not 100 % sure if I always had this problem or not. I posted a thread here asking about this, but no response was received. I cut a piece of packing tape in very thing strip. I attached the to the front edge of the cover. It is low tech fix, but it works for now. I have Curado G which is only few months old. It's got the same design as Citica G, but this one is tight. (so far at least)

Jerkbait Rod For 100$
Yeah for Fenwick Smallmouth! It is totally under-rated. I have 6'9" MHF. Sorry Justin2, I haven't fished the jerkbait with it, so I don't have input for jerkbait use, but I can say It is very nice rod to fish with. new2BC4bass, would you say their lure rating for M rod is accurate? (1/8-5/8)

Bass Mouth Injurys
Yeah, I think he's fine. He can open and close mouth, so he can eat. I agree with Oscar, the stress is more of a risk, let them go asap. And loosing too much blood is bad.

I Want To Talk About Terrestrial Baits
I saw a video of bass eating lots of bugs in the inlet in the spring and a guy was casting a very light lure looked almost like a spider with bunch of legs with light gear, possibly ultra light. All he was doing was a little twitches and catching them right and left. This is getting close to fly fishing world almost. I don't throw light top water, but this got me an idea to try out this summer when bugs are everywhere.
