  1. Sweet looking boat man. So how fast is that baby going to go fully loaded with that 200 on back?
  2. Congrats! Its definately something to be proud of and I wish you the best of luck. Is it going to be on tv?
  3. What pound test does everyone like to use for dropshotting, shakey head, etc.? I am thinking about going with 8 lb.
  4. Has anyone ever registered their bank account with paypal in order to transfer fund back into your bank account from paypal? Did you have any problems yet? I have about $200 that I would much rather have in my account than in paypal but am a little leery of putting down all my checking account information. I guess in reality its no different than having my card registered on there for purchases. I was looking at getting a check but it says expect 3-4 weeks for delivery.
  5. I can get the motor for around $75 that for sure needs seals and maybe the whole lower unit. But I am not sure if its a good deal or not, not to mention I been searching pretty good for the parts I need and can't really find them.
  6. Now that I think about it since the engine is so old parts my be really tough to find and expensive when I do find them.
  7. Like I said in another post I have found a deal on a 14' v hull w/ trailer. I am going to look at this boat in the next few days and if its everything he is making it out to be it will be coming home with me. My question is he told me he was asking $400 but will work with me on it which to me is the same as best offer. So how do I go about giving this guy an offer thats 1) Still acceptable 2) And also keep him from feeling like I am trying to low ball him. THanks
  8. I have come across a older 4.5 mercury(1970's) I might buy. It needs lower unit work. Seals, bearings maybe. Is this something I could do myself or something I would need to take it in to do? If so how much would something like this cost? Thanks
  9. I would agree with what has been said. P.S. I thought I saw somewhere you were getting a part-time job at Bass Pro? If that is true I would wait if possible and see what the discounts are every little bit helps. I know that most rods have a nice mark-up on them.
  10. Well I found another 14' w/ trailer for the same range so I am going to take a look at it and see which one is better. Does anyone have any information on the paint to use? Or any other info? Thanks
  11. I can see your part about looking at gpa to see their work ethic. But that also works the other way around. I had a friend back in school that has the strongest work ethic I know of, but he just wasn't book smart. He could study all he wanted to and it wouldn't really help him greatly to where it would affect his gpa much. You can get half B's and half C's which is considered average grades and it would only reflect a 2.5 gpa. The real question to me would be at what point do sponsors when looking at a gpa think they have a strong work ethic? BUT, that being said once I got out of highschool and into college I realized that grades were more important than what I was giving credit for (yea I was a slacker in highschool I'll admit it) so I made sure to study as hard as I possibly could to get myself a good gpa.
  12. I don't really want it level with the top of the boat like a regular bass boat. I am looking to just rest it on the seats like wheasle did. I just want something that is flat to be able to stand on, have some storage, and a livewell. I will probably paint it. Whats the best paint for painting a boat? Thanks for the advice everyone. This boat should be great for the smaller no wake 5 m.p.h lakes I have around my area.
  13. I have a chance to pick up a 14' v-hull w/ trailer for $400. If I got it I would really like to be able to put a small front and rear deck with storage. I was planning on just laying them and connecting to the metal across seats already there. My main question is would it still be stable enough? I don't plan on taking it on any big water and mostly no wake lakes where I will encounter little to none chop on the water. Thanks P.S. Does $400 for a 14' v-hull w/ trailer in decent shape(no holes, leaks, etc.) sound like a good deal?
  14. Its sounds like a good idea. I got in on it late last year and the one time I did enter I never did get my challenge though.

Or you could get firefox ;D
  16. Wow I bet thats one sweet ride. But I would hate to see how much it set you back.
  17. Edit: Sorry for hijacking my own post and taking it off subject. If anyone else has anymore info. pertaining to boat weight and pulling don't be afraid to post it up. Czechland holds some nice bass. I think its about 75 acres in size roughly. I am wanting to believe the size limit there is 15". Big enough to spend an afternoon there as long as all other anglers don't have the same thing in mind. I really probably wouldn't waste your time with Pawnee I haven't fished it lately but have heard from more than one person it has really gone downhill for bass. Branched Oak there are some bass in there its not so much known for a bass lake but they are there and if you can find them you can get into some but probably won't find great numbers of bass. I have only been to Standing Bear once and it seemed like a good lake. What is the size limit there? I am looking at possibly running a NBAA Team Tournament trail around the Omaha area this year and that might be a lake to consider.
  18. Has anyone dealt with or know someone who has dealt with a Cabelas boat shop? I know the rest of their stores are pretty good and far as quality control goes but I wonder about the boat shops?
  19. Aaaah the famous saying. Of course you would want to look it over yourself. I would assume that they would give it a good look over themselves so they aren't seeling a terribly bad product.
  20. Would it be safe to assume that all reputable boat companies, along with the likes of Cabelas/Bass Pro have given all of their pre-owned boats a good look over before putting them up for sale to make sure everything is ok?
  21. You ever have one of those moments where you find a good deal on something fishing related, but you contemplate whether you want to purchase that particular item and by the time you decide you want to its to late and its already sold? Just had one of them moments this weekend. :-[
  22. Was it once a dream of mine? Yes. Will I ever pursue it? I am not sure yet, money is causing problems at this point in time.
  23. I agree with Roadwarrior if you can spend a few more bucks get the IMX MBR844C. I bought it early last year and absolutely just love it.
  24. From the looks of it. It seems that the longest person to survive without crashing wins. ;D
  25. I use to go out to my buddies cabin on a sandpit almost exclusive with him some really nice fishing. Now since then he has moved away and I no longer have axcess to the sandpit. So that left me high and dry without a fishing hole and back on solid ground(man once you start fishing from a boat consistently going back to solid ground just doesn't feel the same). Last year I start to fish Zorinsky, Standing Bear, some of the others around OMaha along with Czechland by Prague and didn't do to bad for shore fishing.
