  1. Am I the only fan of the new Crucial crankbait rods? Shimano Crucial 7' Medium(for shallow cranks) or Medium Heavy(deep cranks). Try to make sure its the new crankbait series with TC4 construction. I feel that these rods are a great buy for the money and worth more than they charge. Shimano Curado with 6.2:1 Then thinking of putting some either 10 or 12# Yo-Zori Hybrid Ultra Soft this year.

I agree with everything that has been said. While they are more expensive they are definately better than regular old lead. I was at my local Cabelas yesterday and they had some tru-tungsten weights in the bargain cave for I think it was $1.44 a pack. I didn't pick any up then but have decided to go back tomorrow and hopefully they are still there so I can stock up.

I mainly just keep them sorted by diving depth.
  4. If FLW did pay Luke so whats the big deal? Money talks these days. Would you rather take the guaranteed money or fish the Elite series where you just don't know whats going to happen? I know what I would do. Also about the top BASS guys and the top FLW guys. While it may not be all the top guys I do recall Luke being the winner of the last Ultimate Match Fishing show where there were guys such as Ike, Swindle, etc. Most if not all of the other competitors were BASS guys except for him. He pretty much went through that show with ease.
  5. Thats a nice haul. I plan on stopping by Cabela's soon since their spring sale starts tomorrow. Heard they have a good deal on a Stradic combo.

Yup it seems these work best with at least a lite weight on them. If you have a Cabelas close buy or you might be able to get them from online there. I know my local Cabelas has had them for awhile now.
  7. Generally speaking other than lures do the pro's use their equipment that they endorse and have their name on them such as rods/reels? Or is it just another marketing gimmick?
  8. I don't have Insider so I couldn't tell you what to find there. But I do know about the only thing that I have is the unoffical leaderboard at this moment in time which is anything but realiable as far as the standings go. They also have a small blog setup somewhere on their site. I believe both of these can be accessed on the right side of the page when on the main Bassmaster page.
  9. I have no clue where any of the live coverage is. If I seen it right even though I did take a nap for a short period of time this morning but they pulled the same stunt and replayed the Day 2 coverage twice again this morning?
  10. Was it Howell that made the complaint? I thought I read somewhere else that it was a BASS film crew worker that called it in. Either way he was still in the wrong.
  11. Ike was my favorite but unless he has one heck of a day and I mean one heck of a day he is pretty much out. But KVD has put himself in a great positiong to win his third Classic.
  12. One of the better times would for towards the end of the year as alot of stores are having a inventory clearance around that time. Another good time would be right before spring. Both BPS and Cabelas have spring sales to bring in the new season.
  13. Speaking of coverage. Would anyone be able to possibly send me the Day 2 coverage through email or possibly regular mail( I will pay shipping)? There was a bad snow storm going on here so I missed alot of it as the electricity went out for awhile. Thanks
  14. Yes being disappointed in this mornings coverage is an understatement. Whats the point of airing the same thin right after you get done airing it the first time? But you know ESPN threw in some Day 2 "live" stuff so its alright in their eyes. Whats so hard about having Day 2 coverage instead of a repeat Day 1 show?
  15. What are the different ways that a guy can qualify for the Classic anymore these days since BASS has pretty much done away with some of the lower tournament circuits.
  16. Yes Ike always gives it his all. It was sweet when he dove in to grab the line on that fish he broke off but yet had enough mind to keep one hand on the boat to still make it legal. I will always root for Ike.
  17. In all honesty I would go with BASS in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the huge amount of money one has to need. It just seems FLW now these days are more friendly to the anglers that want to compete under the organization but not at the top level quit yet.
  18. It really seems like with BASS pretty much taking away the weekend series that FLW is the way to go until you know you can compete/have the money or maybe I am just looking at it wrong.
  19. Yes damaging the gills on a fish is definately a very bad thing. The thing that gets me is you see people hold fish by the gills all the time on big fish on fishing shows. >
  20. I was looking at getting a pair of costa interchangeable lenses. Do the lenses stay in pretty good? Also how hard is it to change leneses?
  21. Im going against the grain and am saying Shimano Crucial. Great rod for the money that I think they could get away with selling for more if they wanted to. Now if you have the money and want to spring with the extra cash get a Loomis. Both have Lifetime Warranty and are great rods.
  22. Okay I know that I probably just opened up a huge can of worms. So please everyone that participates in this thread argue all you want but keep it civilized and no personal attacks. But I want everyones input on both as well as pros/cons everyone has. Thanks
  23. It really is a blizzard here. Just got done driving home not to long ago. The whole time on my way home I could see no farther than 10 feet at the best infront of me.
  24. Good point. I went back and checked the Classic list posted here not long ago. Dean Rojas is in fact practicing for the classic instead of fishing Lake Travis which who can blame him.
