  1. I am partial to the kinky beaver more than sweet beaver the extra tentacles have a lot of extra action
  2. Crappie eh? I suggest a blackdog shellcracker in crappie pattern.
  3. You darn reel guys have got me all kinds of confused over internal stuff inside the reels. give me a reel with high speed ratio that can cast a lure btween 3/8-1&1/2 oz smooth drag and easy to palm and call it a night
  4. I have a few more the rago generic rat is awesome but hard to find so i dont throw mine that much. also the rapala dt1fat in ikes smash color gets used a lot in my boat
  5. I use a 7'6"? *** black heavy rod lews tourney pro 7:1 reel with 14# sufix siege in grass stickups and such with pit boss or kinky beavers on 4/0 super ewg hooks and in matted grass and extra heavy mats i use a 7'6" berkley lighting. rod with an abu pro max with 70lb braid with some compact creature or craw
  6. Never really tried one during winter
  7. Black works 24/7 as long as you're throwing it where the fish are you'll get bit
  8. Mini or 7" slammers in black, g2 shellcracker in redear and 316 baby wake and wake jrs in shad or sissy are my favorites
  9. I had the chance to fish with Rhino around thanksgiving and i must say he is a stand up guy. we didn't get off to the smoothest start as we forgot to put in the plug and left the motor stand on lol but after that we got a few fish. and he caught the bigone of the day. i would fish with anyone here on br if they were half as courteous and friendly as he was.
  10. Black beauty around cover especially at dawn an dusk on laydowns I've caught 1lb dinks all the way up to a few 5lbers i fishit as a rat and throw it around pads stickups and grass lines near shore
  11. got that first guy on a 6" lunker punker and yea jigging spoons will probably be the way to go and i hear bama rigs are catching some nice ones also
  12. i still do this sometimes lol
  13. That looks like my boat same color and all lol i like mine a lot just take it easy on the towing and break earlier and u should be fine as long as you don't pull it on a lot of steep grades or really long hauls. I've pulled mine with my wifes ford escape
  14. Like RW said a heavy jig head with a 3-5" swimbait. throw up current and bring it back into the pockets.
  15. for moving baits, topwater/waking/glide baits its great. you know when a fish hits the lure but for ny hudds i want a little more sensitivity but you can use the okuma no problem. its almost a personal preference thing. i fish the hudd rof 16 quite a bit and the sensitivity helps keep the bait under control as its a bit more tricky than the rof 5/12
  16. I kind of had a down year on green fish with the biggest just under 5 lbs and second being 4.6 lbs however I've caught some pretty nice linesides with more over 10 than I've caught under 10 and 3 in the 20 lb range and a few trophy shoal bass caught in the flint river
  17. Caught a few more nice stripers yesterday in the river
  18. 4" dead ringer on a c rig murder em for. me and the 6 & 8" dead ringer are my number 1 t rig bait
  19. I too have the okuma mh 7'6" very good rod not as sensitive as some other sticks I've had opportunities to use but its the best bang for your buck
  20. I like to fish the 5" berkley split or hollow belly or money minnow with a small worm rattle inserted in the tail for a little extra noise. Fish it as slow as you can and still keep the tail moving with a few twitches or directional changes . best fished around docks weeds or other structure on a keel weighted hook or for open water or riprap and rock a 1/2-1 oz jighead exposed for bottom bouncing and slow rolling. These are my most productive techniques. maybe they'll help you catch a few
  21. Yea good luck with the seats. from what i hear the stripers are still running pretty well the lake is still pretty full only about 3' from full pool bass has been hit and miss i hear not on a real definitive pattern right now. I've been on the the river a lot lately so I'm only going off reports and what my buddies tell me.
  22. have you tried the new z drop worms from zoom? Just as good as roboworms on shakey head or drop shot just not as many colors
  23. I spllit time during winter to kill stuff and fish bass stripers and crappie until feb or march then its primarily bass fishing again till november
  24. Ok sounds good man thanks I'm thinking about going out tuesday or Wednesday do a little bass fishing and a lil striper too
