  1. Almost a bad day .. me an the wife were in such a hurry to get out on the lake i forgot my tackle bag at the house with 3 rods on the boat one with a spinner bait one with a squarebill and my wifes favorite pink rooster tail we just knew it wasn't gonna be a good trip first 2 hours were tough then BAM!!! 3 fat spots then the big momma hit my wifes rooster tail an broke the line 5 mins later i hook into her on the square bill got her lure back then we found crappie on beds and we just took turns with the rooster tail probably one of the best days I've had on the water in a while just goes to show you any thing can happen out on the water.
  2. Yea I've been thru there a couple times never had the opportunity to fish while i was there
  3. Looking for someone in the west point lake (GA) area to go fishing with. i have the boat just want someone who enjoys bass or crappie fishing on the boat with me. Or if you're ever in the area and want to go send me a pm
  4. that was my first fishing vessel i loved it fished small creeks all the way to 20,000 acre resovoirs in it and landed plenty of fish loading and unloading by myself wasnt very difficult fit 3 people at one time and was very stable i'd suggest an old down square stern for the price of $500 (ballpark) and a decent 40 lb thrust tm you cant beat it
  5. very funny my pool has a xmas tree and a homemade fish attractor and a few bass call it home great place to try a new lure or technique
  6. when you have to bring your wifes hair dryer on the boat because the line on the spool of your baitcaster has frozen stiff in the below freezing air temps
  7. ZOOM DEAD RINGER!! deadly worm works everyway from t-rig to drop shot to shakey head the dead ringers are one of my best kept secret weapons i use the 4' from dec-may then the 8" may -nov any color any day will outcatch any other worm on my home waters im that confident in them on several occasions i have embarrassed my buddies who are senko snobs (no offense) outfishing them 6:1 on their boat in there spots on the lake lol only one local shop sells them here and i have the guy order them for me special in big packs of 100 so i dont have to hope someone bought my go to colors on a seperate note in general i am pleased with zoom plastics in general, especially for worms. now beavers, creatures and craws is a different discussion for a different time
  8. I CATCH HOGS NOV-FEB ON FOOTBALL HEADS WITH A CRAW OR BEAVER TYPE PLASTIC AND MOST ARE BIG'UNS
  9. NEON GILL JAWBREAKER

  11. went out after getting off work early i caught 6 in a 2 hour outing not bad results for the lake right after a big tournament week end caught all the first two pictured on the fist two cast on a 4' zoom dead ringer on 1/16 ball head jig and the other two on a luck e strike rc 300 squrbill other two not pictured were caught on rooster tails in back of the creek but were so small i didnt take pictures (not that the other 4 were lunkers biggest was about 2.5 lbs)
  12. gross caught a bass once that had a spot near its dorsal fin similar to that but nowhere near as big or swollen
  13. never caught one before... i've heard the strike is bone jarring. its on my bucket list: catch a peacock in south florida
  14. i have several of them. i troll with them almost exclusively everything in the lake eats them spots, largemouths, catfish, gills.
  15. would be nice i found that spot last saturday on my lake no lunker but i did get 2 dinks lol
  16. sounds like mr houston is really enjoying that fish
  17. i fish from february to the middle of nov then its hunting for a month or so (filling the freezer) then january is a month to relax and get ready for fishing again
  18. i was probably 4 yrs old when i caught my first spotted bass little did i know then they look very similar to a LM (at leats here in east AL, west GA) main differences in them include there lateral line patterns and the tooth patch on there tounge area. i cant choose between the two theyre both so much fun to catch and spots have the bonejarring strikes i fish for, and most of them here in my area are only 1.5lbs on average and fight like a 5lb LM. But the LM here get BIG!!! and i love wenching in a hawg LM in the double digits which isnt that uncommon here ive caught 3 this year with the biggest going just above 13lbs.
  19. got the pro max brand new from a pawn shop for 30$ still in the box best reel i own i like the silver max too for the flippin switch or at least thats what i use it for. ive been fishing abu since i was 11 wit my first bc being an ambassadour
  20. i love any squarebill crank and soft plastic worms or craw/beaver plastics works for me year round
  21. belly color is whats important to me but even then white w/ orange in the belly or a darker color gets it done for me. i only own 4 frogs and i have caught just as many if not more on them as the guy in the next boat w/ 20+ frogs in different color. technique is whats important with them in my opinion
  22. colors are designed to catch fisherman not fish
  23. the academy in my area has cotton cordell super spots for 88 cents apiece
  24. SNOOKALOT SEND SOME THAT RAIN UP MY WAY
  25. west point lake here in georgia is about 10-12 ft down and water temps hover around 92-96 degrees and most of the boat ramps dont have enough water around to launch a decent size rig..its on the rebound for the next week or so i hope with the rain we've recieved the last couple days. it wont last long tho because the coe is releasing 40000 cubic feet per second. fishing has been downright miserable a day with 3 12-16 inch bass is a great day right now and many are going home skunked. The chatahoochi is just as good as ever tho mixed bags of keeper spots an LM's when there's current
