I make a baby cast on the first cast of the day while fishing its bad luck to catch a fish first cast
  2. lmao that's hilarious
  3. Some say it gives off the illusion of injured baitfish others say its a target for the fish to key in on. if red hooks will make you more confident i say use em.... if not black nickel gamakatsu trebles will work just fine.
  4. not quite air temps are in the 80's for the last few days but the bite is still summerish
  5. I'm partial to copenhagen straight as its only 3 bucks a can here or a pouch of taylors pride
  6. Takes a touch more finesse than other frogs to get it to walk because it sits lower than other frogs in the water
  7. the missile baits fuze 4.0 works well on the neko type rig. I havent used it since late spring tho.
  8. i use the bigger size frogs from time to time. the ultimate hollow belly frog is what its called i think. i have the sexy shad and bluegill colors and i think redear or shellcracker is the other color. they produce fish for me. They arent the softest frogs out there but i think there are harder hollow belly frogs out there. I'd say theyve caught me as many as the spro frogs, but the pad crasher is my favorite as its affordable, soft, and the hook up ratio seems to be slightly better than average with my other frogs. My personal favorite is the popping frog from spro tho. I cant keep fish off of it.
  9. Going fishing with my grandpa as a kid he was such a talented multispecies angler i can't remember ever getting skunked fishing with him. And fishing with my two year old . it brings back memories of me and my grandpa.
  10. Surprised the gloves haven't came off yet. lol i own both more abus than shimano but i wouldn't discount either of them they're both great reel companies
  11. The more line out the deeper it will run. i run 5 1/8 0z keel weighted hooks or jig heads and on a long cast reeling slow its stays around 5 ft deep just slow down the retrieve as you get closer to the end of the retrieve. when trolling at 1.6 mph i can get it down to 15 ft with 100 foot of line out. Up the jig heads to 3/8 and you. could get your desired depth
  12. Happens to me on a river i fish a lot pull up to a spot catch a few fish where bait are present then gar show up and the bite dies off i think the bass know the larger gar will eat them so they retreat
  13. Hard to beat the price of paca craws or havoc pit boss
