Punchin?
Anyone know of any decent vids demonstrating this? The ones I see its pretty difficult to see whats actually going on.

Punchin?
Most of the vids I've seen havent involved tossing the bait 6 feet or so and having it come down. Most I've seen just have them flip it into heavy weeds/grass/pads etc. Definitely foregin concept to me because I usually try my hardest to avoid snags. Another thing to practice!

Punchin?
I didnt want to start a new thread but I've been curious about punching. Hope you all dont mind. Is punching basically just throwing a lure into the thick of the nastiest vegetation you can find? Provided you're using the right tackle of course (Heavier rod, big weight, appropriate hook etc)?

What Oil For 2 Stroke And Ethanol Question
I just started using West Marines brand of oil with no complaints. It regularly goes on sale for ~$15 dollars a gallon. After a lot of internet searches I came across a thread where the company that makes West Marine oil chimed in and talked about it. AFAIK it meets the same requirements as every other TC-W3 Oil and is actually a pretty decent oil. Just looked it up and starbrite makes the oil for West Marine. Other than that I've just added some startron every time I add gas and its been pretty painless.

M Or Mh For Flukes?
I actually agree with you. I was just trying to find a general consencus. I think i'm going to buy another *** rod the *** black 6'10" M/XF and use it for flukes and senkos. If I need to buy another rod down the road so be it.

M Or Mh For Flukes?
Is the powell you recommend the EF 702c? Just curious because the little caption mentions senkos.

M Or Mh For Flukes?
So you wouldn't use the same rod for fluke and a 5" weightless senko? I'd be pairing the rod with an okuma helios.

M Or Mh For Flukes?
Dont want to hijack this thread but I'm also quite interested in this! Would a fluke rod also be suitable for casting weightless senkos? I'm assuming it would. I'm also in this dilemma. Some people recommend a MH/F action rod while others go M/F. One rod I keep seeing pop up is a Falcon Weightless Worm Rod. That one seems to be MH/XF. Looking for a rod that can hopefully handle flukes and senkos.

Falcon Bucoo
Anyone have experience with this and a veritas? I know they're new but anyone also have experience with these rods and 13's *** omens? I love my *** rod but these look pretty comparable and I like trying new things.

Best Baitcaster ~$200
I've always been drawn to products that aren't 'mainstream.' I did some research and couldnt find a negative review of the reel so I figured I'd purchase it. Just took it out again today and even my friend preferred it to the TP. Granted I use the Helios and TP for different applications but you get the point. Not that the TP is a bad reel. In fact, its a fantastic reel! It reminds me of a nicer version of a PQ. Almost as if the PQ is a honda (plain but gets the job done with great reliability) and the TP is an acura (same brand, more svelte and upscale) I purchased them both on ebay for SUBSTANTIALLY less than retail. I'm actually in the market for one more reel. If the Komodos are anything like the helios I will be buying a Komodo in 5:4:1 for crankbaits.

Okuma Helios. I've got a TP as well and its great but I feel the Okuma is smoother.

For 100 I REALLY like the BPS Pro Qualifier. If you dont mind buying used there can be deals to be had here in the flea market and on ebay.

Yearly Reel Maintenance.
Was going to send mine to pro reel service. Heard nothing but good things and the prices seem reasonable. One of these days I'll tear one down and figure out how to do it myself.

Recieved My 13 Fishing Omen Black
So like many others I took advantage of TW labor day event and used the discount to order some fishing gear including a 7'1" MH/F *** *** Black casting rod. My objective for this rod is to use it mostly for t rig and the occasional weightless plastic/senko application. I'm a pretty new bass fisherman but am slowly adding to my collection. For reference I also have a carbon lite 7ft M/F w/ PQ reel and a 7'3" Veritas MH/F paired with a Lew's Tournament Pro. Disclaimer: I havent fished with this yet. I'm hoping to get on the water Sunday depending how the weather and the amount of weekend warriors that show up. My first impression of the reel was a good one. I know aesthetics dont tell the story but this rod looks great! I love the carbon look with the checkered pattern on the handle and the cork providing contrast. They did a great job! To me its a well balanced rod and I like the feel of it in my hand. I have it paired with an Okuma Helios reel and its one sexy combo! The look and feel is terrific. When I Initially picked it up I thought they sent the wrong rod because it was so light! It feels lighter than the veritas but also a bit less 'stout' if that makes any sense. As far as craftsmanship I didnt notice any tooling marks or excessive epoxy. When I initially took the Veritas out I didnt know what to expect. However after a few casts I could tell why everyone raved about the sensitivity. I use the Veritas as my carolina rig rod and you really can feel the bottom contours well. I'm hoping this rod has similar sensitivity although I'll be using it for a different application. I'm not one of those guys that only sticks to one brand because ultimately competition breeds improvements. That being said if this rod holds up well I'll definitely be ordering another one or two in the future.

I Need A Boat..
Depends on your budget. Personally I've always been pretty frugal and financially responsible. I've never had a car payment, always put a decent amount per month away, and generally have no debt besides my mortgage. I could have purchased a boat @ 19 but decided to spend some time establishing what I wanted to do for a career. I just purchased a decent boat off craigslist. I already had a vehicle capable of towing, life vests, and a fire extinguisher. Just got an insurance policy and cant remember the exact details but it was inexpensive. If you can be patient and keep your eye on CL I'm sure you can find a pretty decent boat. Locally I've seen many boats in the 3k-3500 range that are lake worthy and g2g. One thing to remember though boats in that price range typically wont include good electronics. If this is something you're truly passionate about I'd say go for it. One thing though be patient! Dont rush in to anything! Check local fishing boards for good mechanics and have them check it out before you commit to anything. Don't compromise. If you're not 100% happy or have any doubts whatsoever keep waiting. You'll find what fits you best!

Question About Graph Maps
Thanks again for the info. Looks like the navionics covers all the lakes I fish. Do graphs go on sale much? Wondering if I should wait since labor day is around the corner.
