  1. Took some new pictures, hopefully these help.
  2. Thanks again wayne!
  3. Wayne thank you for the reply! I called the guy who installed it and he offered to meet me at the lake to see if we cant sort it out. Just to make sure, you'd recommend placing the transducer where the speedometer tube is? That wouldn't put it too close to the motor? Thanks again for all the help and patience!
  4. Should the unit be mounted somewhere else? Any recommendations? Forgot to mention that it also turns off every time I start the motor. I'm thinking that might be a fuse issue?
  5. Just had my 1198 c SI installed and took it out on the water yesterday to figure out how to use it. Overall it seemed to do ok, but I seemed to be getting a lot of interference. Most notably in sonar mode there were many vertical lines throughout the screen. This would happen occasionally but not always in DI. Also my side imaging looked to have interference on the left side but not really the right. Just want to double check the transducer locations. Just to clarify I did not install this. Went to someone locally recommended. Starboard to port Underneath looking up Port to Starboard Unfortunately in my excitement I forgot my sdcard at home so I was unable to capture any images. I should be able to go back out monday or tuesday and I'll be sure to grab some captures then. Thanks!
  6. Wayne I got the 1198 based on your advice! :-) So you'd recommend the premium? I wouldnt mind saving 50 dollars thats for sure.
  7. Just wondering how many of you use them and your impressions? Finally had my new humminbird installed (will post another thread about possible issues with that..) but since I'm still new to fishing my local lakes I find I still spend more time trying to locate structure, transitions etc than actually fishing. How good are the aforementioned maps? Must buy? How easy are they to use and understand?
  8. I have 2 of these. By far best bang for your buck IMO. You could almost buy 2 for your budget!
  9. Dont buy in to the stopping power nonsense. If you look up ballistic testing of 9mm in comparison to 40 cal you'll find the results are VERY similar. I used to carry my M&P40c but have since replaced it with my CZ P-07 in 9mm. For home defense honestly nothing beats a shotgun. Its not only intimidating but it requires less effort to aim, shoot, and hit what you're targeting.
  10. CZ custom does AMAZING work. Lucky for me they are semi local!
  11. I feel like most bows from a reputable company are almost the same. By that I mean a quality unit. I also NEVER EVER listen to people who tell me Hoyts are the best or Matthews. I went to a shop 30 miles from my house to see if I could shoot some Elite bows as I was curious. Guy said "If you're gonna spend that much money just buy a Hoyt or a Matthews..." Needless to say I just walked out. Its a kin to someone telling you Shimanos are the best... That close minded attitude is really a disservice to consumers. Its sad that elitism is so prevalent in all hobbies. When bow shopping I tend to focus on the things that I can quantify vs who makes the bow. IE ATA, Brace Height, Cam system (single, binary, dual etc), back wall, grip, noise, customer service etc. Most people dont do this... They start looking @ manufacturer and go from there which to me seems quite backward. Once I figure out what I'm looking for I'll shoot as many manufacturers bows as I can in my desired spec range. I could give a hoot who makes it. If I shoot it and like it I'll buy it. For the record, I shoot a hoyt rampage xt. Just bought it. Brand new left over 2012... Cam with a QAD rest, 10 carbon arrows, 5 pin sight, quiver, Hoyt case... 475 dollars. Only reason I bought it was because of the smoking deal. I'm already looking for another bow. Specifically the Athens Recluse or a new breed archery eclipse.
  12. Any online resources you found to be helpful? I've gone a ton of searches mostly leading back to forum posts that are old and dont have pictures. I'm in the planning stages right now. Debating if I should frame with metal/aluminum or just go with treated wood. ATM I'm thinking about making 2 storage boxes that would also extend the deck and be removeable.
  13. Need one more rod to round out my collection at the moment. Looking to try something new. The KLX rods seem to offer a ton of value for the money. I'm specifically looking for a carolina rig rod. I have zero confidence in this presentation and need to work on it quite a bit. I was looking @ the MH 7 footer. Its rated up to 1 0z so I figure that should be enough. Anyone have experience with this particular rod or any of the KLXs for that matter? Likes/dislikes? Wish I snagged one when they were on sale for 139.
  14. I always like to chime in on these threads. I consider myself a value guy. I always try to get the most for my money. That being said my favorite rod right now is my *** *** MH. Have it rigged up as my texas rig rod and its been fantastic. Especially for 100 bucks! 2nd favorite after that would be the BP carbonlite. I also have a veritas... Just gave it to my buddy. Fishes more like a heavy IMO and the sensitivity wasnt as good as the two aforementioned rods IMO. TBH I've always felt the Veritas rods were a bit over rated.
  15. PQ is the best value for your money out there IMO. Love it and will be adding more to my arsenal!
  16. IMO nothign touches the *** *** Black line. After that my fav 100 dollar rod would be the BPS carbonlite.
  17. Brand loyalty is ok in moderation... Loyalty to one thing to the exclusion of others is pointless. Why limit yourself?
  18. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Pro-Qualifier-Reel/CarbonLite-Trigger-Rod-Baitcast-Combos/product/12041705055310/ Thats a link to the PQ baitcaster and carbonlite rod. That was my first setup and I couldnt be happier. Right now its my dedicated topwater rig but I've used it for just about everything.
  19. My overall favorite BC reel. Nothing can touch it in terms of value!
  20. Dont buy into the hype about calibers. Check out boxotruth and some other websites. 9mm is all you need, you'll end up with more bullets per clip, and its a lot cheaper to shoot. That said I'd recommend a CZ P-07. Just got one and its now my favorite gun. I have several other polymer pistols, glock 19, m&p40c(horrible trigger), Springfield XD9. The CZ has the best ergonomics of any polymer frames pistol i've ever shot. I love that its hammer fired with the da/sa trigger pulls. Its also been the most accurate pistol i've shot out of the box. If that isnt available I'd recommend the XD. Keep in mind everyone has different hands. Pick the one that you shoot the best.
  21. Just wondering have you used them both? I have 3 omens and 1 MH Recon. The recon was supposed to be a gen2 but tw screwed up and sent me a gen1. Honestly they're pretty darn close. I'd put the 60 towards extra line/bait/tackle and stick with the ***. Balances nice, just as sensitive, and the reel seat is very comfortable (to me).
  22. Much prefer my carbonlite to my veritas. In fact i replaced my veritas with a Phenix recon 2 715. For 100 bucks I havent fished a finer rod than the *** series fwiw.
  23. I've sure been curious about those klxes! Seem like a great rod! If you get one please post a review.
  24. Have a veritas, compre, and carbonlite. Of the 3 I'd rate them Carbonlite, Compre,Veritas. If you dont mind ordering one I'd also highly recommend the *** ***.
