  1. I got a couple LDC's with spiral wraps. First rod I ever had that was spiral wrapped and I like it. The feedback from Don and Colby it seems to be a pretty nice stick. But from Don's feedback on FB I think it may be more suited for the 8 in. hudd which I don't throw nearly as often as the 68 or the standard 6 in. He said Ken had this rod designed with the bigger baits in mind. Don's feedback was that it didn't seem to have flex that some people may want in the rod. Compared it to an XH LDC
  2. Looking to upgrade the fish finders on my new boat. Needing some input or feedback on what you guy's feel is the best for under $600
  3. If the Don father uses it I'm sure it's got some benefits to it! I love my LDC rod's but I may just have to scoop one of these up and see what it's about. I like the full grip in the rear.
  4. Looking to scoop up a couple more Pro Qualifiers, the new white Carbonlite, a Johnny Morris sig. and another 13 ***.. Maybe another Shimano Cardiff for my big bait setups if I happen to need another which I will lol
  5. X2 on the Carbonlites. After the kink's were worked out from the grinding issue people were having it is a darn good reel and the lightest reel I own. Got some of the original Gold Carbonlites and two new Black Carbonlites and both are good reel's. I got mine on sale $99 from BPS and it was a steal
  6. My vote would be either a BPS Pro Qualifier which is a tank of a reel and probably one of my favorites or you could go with a Diawa Tatula
  7. There will be alot of different opinions and rod's suggested to you. Honestly my jig setups total cost just above $150 reel and all. I use Carbonlite rod's paired with PQ reel for all my jig setups. GREAT sensitivity and good backbone. I also have a *** that I use sometimes for flipping jigs in light brush. It's a really good rod as well just not my top choice. Just do some research on the forum listen to input and feedback and make your decision on what you feel you'd need/like best.
  8. Those are some MN TOADS!
  9. I enjoy FLW magazines better so I don't really stress it too much.
  10. It seem's I get mine at random. I subscribed but never received the bag nor the free crankbait or any of that. I'll get one then not receive the next issue. Then get one. Weird
  11. Just this past Saturday I experimented with taking some of my reel's apart and checking them out. Didn't really dive too deep or take too much apart but I learned alot just by experimenting and checking components. I did have a IPL while doing this. I was messing with some of my cheaper baitcasters. Too new to reel cleaning and maintenance to move up and break down my more expensive rigs.
  12. I'll be getting one of the standard and the micro guides soon. Hopefully they are as good as they look.
  13. I look for durability, weight, cost, and ratio. I have 13 ***'s, Abu revo's, Orra, Shimano Cardiffs for my big bait setups and BPS reel's. To be honest I love my BPS PQ and Carbonlite reel's the most. The carbonlite is LIGHT. I mean LIGHT. The PQ is a darn good reel I have fell in love with cause it's just a tank and cover's alot of aspects or situations and presentations. I just look for a reel I have confidence in and all the reel's I stated above I have no doubt's in. To each his own
  14. I appreciate the feedback guy's. Guess I'll stop using the real magic and stick with KVD L&L. I will need to re-up on some new bottles though I'm running low. How do you guy's generally apply it? I've been just spraying it on the reel and letting it soak in the night before. Seem's to work just find
  15. Really? I've always heard it supposed to be good for the line. Here's the description on the BassPro and TW sites.. This outstanding Real Magic Lubricant works to soften, lubricate, and extend the life of your fishing line while reducing line memory and improving your casting distance by protecting and lubricating your reel. Environmentally safe, odorless, and guaranteed not to buildup, this super lubricant also works to reduce icing on rod guides and is great for keeping spinnerbait skirts supple and tangle free. Real Magic works on monofilament, braided, and even fly lines.
  16. I love CXX. It's the first P-Line I used. It's on all my big bait setup's. I spray all my reels down after every use and once a week with reel magic. Then before I go fishing the night before I spray KVD line conditioner on. Seem's to really help with memory. I'm using 12lb CX on most of my reels but will be switching over on all of em. CXX is where it's at for my swimbaits though. It's on all my round reel's and I have not had one issue. Cottny27 I haven't ordered it yet I was going to then the need for another swimbait rig came up so I ordered an Okuma GS XH and a Shimano Cardiff instead. Once I get the new Carbonlite I will post up some info on it and let ya know what I think. I have the gold originals and the black ones and have loved all of em no issues that other's have had with the grinding feeling. I'm hoping the new Carbonlite will be just the same in performance
  17. Awesome weekend man. That 6-10 is a chunk!
  18. I think I'm gonna be making the switch to CX/CXX on all my rod's. I'm running the 20LB CXX on my swimbait setups for hudd's and on my other big bait rod for glide baits. I was fishing a Gambler lures EZ swimmer in Tennesse Shad on a weighted swimbait hook this past weekened back in the creek's following the shad and I could literally feel every bump or rock or bottom contact I made with CX
  19. I've been using reel magic and line/lure conditioner. Seem's to help negate the memory problem fairly well
  20. Bought some reel's that had P-Line CX copoly with a fluro coating. Been using it for my soft swimbaits and bladed swim jigs. I love the stuff to this point no issues at all. Was thinking of switching over all my setups to this line. Any one else use this stuff?
  21. I have 9 BC rod's and reel's. All get used some more than other's. Just got a boat so I'm sure I will be getting more now that I can store them and use them without being a burden to the boater.
  22. Awesome review. I have 9 PQ's now and all of them have held up well. Great info and indepth review that took quite a bit of time.
  23. As I've always said the Carbonlite is a very good rod for the price point. I have over 8 and all have served me well and had no issues. I do take good care of my equipment but these rod's have held well. I'm going to be getting more for sure
  24. Honestly I struggled there with only one fish. It's hard to run that lake with all the shallow areas and stumps and rocks. I couldn't ever get on a good pattern. And it was INVESTED with grass. I mean a TON when we were there.
