  1. Fished a tournament there with a buddy of mine back this summer. Very tough bite.... The only place we found any bites was near the dam where there was a little current from them releasing water. It dropped the water temps down a bit on that side and we got about 3. The last tournament we fished there was won right in front of the launch ramp. It was the only limit caught and he didn't even have to crank his outboard the whole day just trolled over to the spot about 40 yards. Big ol shallow flat that run's through there.
  2. Awesome man! Just got my first boat it's a 17ft too
  3. Thank's guy's! Took a long time to save up and find what I wanted but it's been worth it
  4. I appreciate the help Wayne! My work computer is horrible and slow.
  5. It continues to tell me file to big to upload..
  6. Sorry I'm at work I will upload them tonight. I tried to prepare as much as possible for extra costs and upgrades. Got the boat for a steal and still had a good amount left over for any extenuating circumstances.
  7. I have finally purchased my first boat! Got 1996 17FT Quest center console with a 70HP Johnson. Looking forward to learning the local lake's and being out as often as possible. Got a lot to learn but looking forward to getting off the bank and on the water!
  8. BPS Carbonlite rod, BPS PQ reel. Now have about 9 of these setup's and I love them! Also look into a Tatula. I am planning on purchasing one from all the great feedback from this forum on them. Seem to be great reel's. *** black is also an option for rod to match it up with. I have a 7'6 MH for flipping light brush and structure. I love it. It's paired with a 13 *** reel though.
  9. I was honestly looking to get a mettle setup with ethos rod. But there are no Academy's around here so I'd be going on a limb. From what everyone say's they appear to be darn good for the price point. May have to just take a chance and buy a couple setup's to try out.
  10. I also use 12-15 # FC typically I use 15#
  11. Couple of nice smallies!
  12. I have about 8 Carbonlite rod setup's from BPS. Never had any issues. Just as I pointed out in a previous post that majority of the rod's I see broke are Duckett. Probably 90% of these breaks are consumer error. I work in the OPE business and a defect will come out sooner rather than later. I've never had an issue out of any of my BPS rod's. I take care of my equipment and I do maintenance regularly. That's not to say there isnt a bad rod that makes it out every now and then especially with the amount of Carbonlite rod's that are sold.
  13. I've bought all my rod's/reel's sight unseen and never have had an issue. I do alot of research and ask questions on here or look for reviews and info online for any issues it may have. Now I have only a certain few brand of rod's I buy so I know what I'm getting pretty much and reel's I buy from TW who have a good return policy.
  14. X2 BPS PQ and BPS Carbonlite rod. I have about 4 of these setups and love them. Also a *** Black and a Tatula or PQ. I like my Carbonlite's better but the 13 is a darn good rod
  15. Hudd's my favorite soft swimbait. I use the 6in. and the 68 ROF 5. Reflexion swimbaits are also a swimbait I use that matches up with a more traditional rod and reel setup
  16. I have an American Hero's 7' MH casting rod. I use it for soft plastic swimbaits such as Gambler EZ or Big EZ. Great little rod for the money. Also help's a veteran and that in itself is awesome.
  17. Bass Pro Shop's. But mainly do my ordering via online at TW
  18. 1. Spinnerbait 2. Bladed swim jig 3. KVD Sexydawg 4. Texas rigged worm 5. Shallow Crank 6. Jig 7. Swimbait
  19. I have multiple Pro Qualifiers and I love them. A member on here did a 5 year test on his Pro Qualifier and he fished more than you and I combined ever would in that span and it got a great review.
  20. Guy's are right MH/F is a good all around rod and can be used for multiple presentations. I tend to go with a 7' MH/F since I'm on the shorter side but a 7'3 would be just as good
  21. Ok that's understandable. I am not bashing this company at all that's not who I am. I was just asking because in all honesty I understand rod's break and I'm one of those that say's its consumer error, just for some reason I seemed to see alot more of this specific brand than other's. And it wasnt as if I was seeking that outcome out. Sorry if anyone feel's im ruffling feathers!
  22. It's not bashing at all by the obvious information I provided before I stated the company name. I understand any rod can break but I was just pointing out the majority that I see seem to be Duckett rod's. Posted this to see if there was any info on if they had a manf. issue that was resolved or if the new rod's being produced are still having the same issues.
  23. I know all manf. have rod's break but it seems the majority I have seen on FB and Instagram and other sites is a Duckett rod. Is this just simply QC issues or what? I've never had a rod break but a buddy had two MM Ducketts break on em. And he is a fanatic when it comes to taking care of his gear
