  1. seems like in australia you can get killed anywhere at any time
  2. weclome...i grew up in Levittown and fished the Delaware and penn warner lakes a lot growing up.....and even levittown lake as soon as i was old enough to convince my mom that i could ride there on my own with my rod taped to the top tube of my bike.....how i didn't get killed on those roads baffles me
  3. i checked out the lure in the midlothian appomattox location and the deck and top of the boat was pretty nice but after checking out the hull it looks like it would not be too maneuverable. May not be a big deal for a lot of people but my boats see a decent amount of river time and right now owning a flat water and a river boat are not in the cards other wise i would have a coosa and a flat water boat like a cuda, lure, ride etc....that new slayer propel 10' boat is super intriguing to me too....same cockpit size as the larger boats but weighs only 65lbs or something and still has a decent weight capacity....
  4. So i was reading about that and apparently tomatoes over the past 20 years or so have less acidity than before and they are right on the border of the right acidity level. For salsa you are adding other ingredients which could bring the level down to levels that aren't safe for botulism i believe that water bath canning won't kill. Like i said i am new to all this so this is just from my own research lol All the spaghetti sauce canning recipes i saw did say to add a teaspoon of lemon juice for each pint. I am gonna try it with adding lime or lemon juice because i like that flavor in my salsa anyways.....
  5. I have that exact rod and use it for the same purposes you are looking to and have been very happy with it. I own three rage rods and have zero complaints for what it is worth.
  6. no, this is the new one that i am trying to sell so i haven't rigged anything on it yet, got it as a warranty replacement...had a buyer but he flaked out. I am not a big fan of the commander 140----a little to big for what i want to use it for. Seems like the sweet spot for me and my uses are boats in the 12' range.
  7. If i recall they went real low though. I thought i read or heard them say it was probably 50-60M less than what he was able to get on the open market. On a side note, are the sox the first team in history to go from worst to WS champs back to worst again?
  8. I will break down the area a little more next time out for sure....I need to get my depth finder rigged up on my new kayak though so i can see what all is under the water and why they were located where they were since it was a pretty large lilly pad field
  9. Not sure if i have a favorite as I am not a movie guy but there are a few that if i am flipping channels and see it on i will stop and watch it....Taxi Driver and Rocky I.
  10. I know the NBA is talking about putting sponsors on their "jerseys" which are potentially going to a short sleeve t-shirt design as well.
  11. so here is my take. He replaced the parts and did the labor so he should get paid. What he was wrong about was the diagnosis of the problem, so in that case i would not go back. I would bring it up and if they give you a discount fine and if not fine. Discount or not, I am pretty sure i would not be returning to that particular mechanic for any repairs or maintenance. And who is to say the VRO wasn't needing to be replaced as well?
  12. i never saw those types of bad edits on Monster Fish but i did see them on River Monsters. I kind of like that the guy isn't a fisherman myself.
  13. I saw a show with Doug Hannon one time and as most people know, he spent as much time under the water observing bass as he did above. Anyways, he said anglers would be shocked if they know how many fish tried to eat their lures and how many did and you never even knew it.

  15. It is tougher in a kayak unless you have a kayak you can stand up in. You will also find that for the most part you don't horse the fish to you but rather keep tension on the fish and pull yourself to the fish.....at least that is what usually happens for me when fishing dense cover like weeds or lilly pads
  16. Don't bring up ladles.....he will have flashbacks
  17. i guess it depends but for the most part fish can do just fine in the weed and a lot of the mats open up underneath and provide great habitat for the fish. I fish a lake that has a ton of weeds that almost grow to the surface in a lot of places and i have seen on more than one occasion the bass shoot out of the weeds to nail a crank or fluke just above the tops. Weeds also can help to purify the water or at least that is what i read somewhere once lol
  18. I like his show and i also like Monster Fish too, less drama and more scientific in my opinion but both go after some crazy large fish.
  19. I am gonna go with Rick Clunn as well and honestly, i don't think it is even close.
  20. Everyone says that though.....the only player i have seen actually do it was Cliff Lee turning down 30M from the Yankees to play in Philly.... oh and the Phillies are horrible, the braves well they stink too and it looks like the Nats are going to run away in the division by default and most likely get knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. Good thing football season started
  21. I read the same thing about fresh citrus and all the recipes advise using bottled stuff. I was skeptical when using it in my tomato sauce but i couldn't taste a difference when we uncorked a jar the other night. I opened a jar and cooked it a little more and added some sugar to see if that can help cut the vinegar flavor so if that works, i will at least not have to throw out all the salsa i already made and just add sugar to it when we open it up.
  22. yes, unless you use a pressure canner you need to maintain a certain acidity level to prevent organism growth and tomatoes are right on the border so most recipes add in vinegar or other acid to bring the level to where it should be. I did do a little research and it said you can replace vinegar with bottled lemon or lime juice in a recipe but not the reverse
  23. In an effort to waste as few of my plethora of tomatoes as possible this year i have canned about 20 pints of sauce and am now moving on to salsa. My question is anyone have a recipe that does not require vinegar? I tried one straight from the Ball canning site and the vinegar taste was all i could taste. I know there are rules around acidity levels and the like in regards to tomatoes and i don't want to get anyone sick around here so just wondering if there are any people with more experience than me that can share their recipes. I know for my sauce they said to add in lemon juice to keep the acidity level high enough and not change the flavor, can i do the same with the salsa and use lime juice instead or is there something i am missing here....
  24. Good luck bro
