  1. Congrats!! that boat should serve you well for as long as you want.....well until the itch for another boat is too much and you need to scratch
  2. Wasn't he allegedly having a little fun on the side with Hibbert's fiancé? not that it matters.....unless this injury is karma lol
  3. I grew up fishing the Delaware for smallies and was gonna come up for the event to check it out with my dad but I will be in the outer banks instead I am definitely excited to see how it turns out. I did see that the event will be shown on ESPN2.............August 31st lol
  4. I think Paul George is worse....they are both in the same category though and both are worse than the theisman hit.
  5. Many of the kayaks out there you can stand in to fish. The most stable ones are the hybrid style boats like the native ultimate or the wilderness systems commander. After that there are the traditional sit on tops, many of which are able to be stood up in to fish. Take a look at Jackson Kayaks, Wilderness Systems ride series and for pedal powered boats there are Native Propel and the hobie mirage drive boats. Both have versions that are stable enough for standing.
  6. There are a ton of kayaks out there to choose from and they are easy to store, easy to transport and easy to paddle and fish from. Now picking one out can be more complicated because there are so many options out there.
  7. even bubbleless regulators still have some bubbles in my experience....And the negative outlook is pretty sad to me. If someone wants to win and enough maybe they just won or are better than you.....sounds like an excuse being built in to losing if you ask me.
  8. woah....now that is some conspiracy theory. I am sure that the bubble trail wouldn't get any attention either or the guy in scuba gear coming in and out of the water and your air runs out eventually even with a rebreather.
  9. he broke both bones but amazingly didn't tear up anything else so he should be fine. Usually after a break the bone is stronger there than it was before. I hope he recovers and comes back to play. I am not a pacers fan but i hate to see that kind of injury, especially when it happens when playing for team USA.
  10. Braid helps for sure. As far as pulling towards the fish, that is not going to impact your hook set at all. Sharp hooks are more important. Also i would bet that once you are more comfortable in the canoe you will get more fish to the boat as well.
  11. I like it but it is a specific situation type lure for me. I think the people that don't like it are trying to toss it into the same places they would a square bill and it isn't that type of bait. I am not gonna throw a zara spook on top of matted grass and the come out and say it sucks and doesn't produce but it seems like that its he case with the scatter rap for some reason.
  12. Sounds like a lot of the things i have read on here about kids growing up shooting each other with BB guns and shooting squirrels but now all of the sudden it is wrong? Kid is making stupid kid mistakes and will hopefully learn from them.
  13. Anyone see that Paul George injury in last night's Team USA game? That thing was nasty.....no ancillary damage though so he should be fine but either way it was pretty gruesome. Don't search for it if you have a weak stomach....
  14. I haven't run into any problems fishing docks but that may also be because i am in a kayak and i don't think people feel as intimidated, not sure though. Common courtesy rules here and if someone is upset you move on and make it easy on everyone. We used to have people on our street growing up that didn't like us playing stickball in front of their house. Technically we were allowed to play wherever we wanted but we moved to save the hassle.
  15. When i go after browns i take the same flies i use for smallies....once they get above about 15" or so they become serious meat eaters.
  16. holy crap, that thing is a pig!!
  17. Wow, maintenance on the boat, that is nuts.
  18. I just got in and had the strap in the middle on the inside of the vehicle. And for the rear, I just reached back and did the same thing
  19. but but they will make waiver deals.....riiiiight. and now lee goes out with an elbow injury in the third too....
  20. I am not a fan of running the straps through the car then shutting the door on the strap for a few reasons. One, you generally are adding additional wear on the door seals in the same spot every time you load the kayak, two yo hare slamming the door on the strap itself causing more wear. I know it works and people do it but if it was me, I would just open the window and run them through that way if i had no other choice, but in al reality i would be getting a rack lol
  21. Jet boats in harrisburg don't last very long. My dad has that same boat, newer though but with the bigger motor, not sure i would want it with that smaller motor. They are built with pretty thin hulls and do not take abuse very well on rivers but for occasional river use they are fine. Too bad that one sold though because i would have made a trip up there to test ride in it and see what it was all about
  22. dang, i have been looking for a used mariner propel for a while now......sorry to derail lol
  23. I am assuming you mean in the richmond area and if so, there are a bunch of ponds in all the office complexes that you can fish at. every one i have went to has fish but they all get a good bit of pressure.
  24. it sounds to me like you need t goo up the food chain a little bit. You have given them every opportunity to help and fix the problem in what sounds like a respectable manner and been told oh well use an aftermarket piece to help out. That to me is not acceptable on a brand new boat.
