  1. Wow, that thing looks great. I am always hesitant to get that price point of rod since i fish fro ma kayak and things do get banged around a bit more than normal. Although if the warranty is good it might be worth it, at least that is what i tell myself when i buy fly rods
  2. I saw that on Facebook and it merely solidified my belief that the majority of people are freaking dumb....so many people were commenting at how this was a tragedy and can't believe it happened.....even after people said it was fake. I mean if you read we are not saying it is foul play even though there are bruises and he may have just tripped and fallen on a knife set....and think it is real you should be ashamed of yourself It was freaking funny though
  3. I can tie a palomar pretty much blindfolded and a snap is always faster, especially when dealing with larger treble hooked baits, not even a comparison....
  4. better than a driving a male truck....not that there is anything wrong with that.....
  5. I am doing p90x right now....not really cardio though but great workouts. I haven't done the insanity workouts. Not a big fan of cardio for cardio's sake....
  6. I don't know what is more disconcerting to me....lowering a truck, that a black pick up apparently brings on the ladies or that AOL is still around......I had a 2 door wrangler before that was lifted and well i was married and now i have a 4 door wrangler and i am hoping the result with my fiancee is a little better this time around
  7. Maybe I am a little confused but if you have used cranks what did you use and what did you like or not like about them? I personally prefer rapala cranks in their DT series to cover all the depths and i also like their square bills along. I do like the SK in the mid ranges but not a fan of the square bills. I like fishing cranks for sure and fish them often but i am not at the level where i can tell the major differences between the various brands even though i do have a bunch of different manufacturers Depending on your lake just get some to cover the depths you want to fish and then see hat you like and get more in different colors later on....i wouldn't be able to spend that kind of coin all on something i wasn't sure what i wanted.
  8. dang....nothing really on their FB page
  9. I thought crazy stuff like this only happened when it got hot outside...I wonder if they have a Facebook page....could provide some entertainment for the evening
  10. Yup what everyone else said....no swivel, and use a snap as it facilitates bait changes much easier and less wasted line.
  11. I have tried those floating ribbits and in my opinion, they suck. They are to light to cast effectively and the floating ability isn't that great really. If i want something to float i use a different type of frog like a hollpw body or the dahlberg frog, http://www.river2seausa.com/topwater/483-dahlberg-diver-frog.html but usually when i want a floating frog presentation i am chucking a deerhair frog on the fly rod.
  12. How young can you start someone? I have a seriously active 3 1/2 year old who is very physical and is learning to manage it but I would like to get him in something that he can still be physical without getting written up in school
  13. What are some of the benefits because that thing has a pretty steep annual fee at $450 a year.
  14. They actually changed my card to the quicksilver through the chat feature so you may have just gotten a lazy rep lol I also think when you log in to online banking under the account menu there is a section called modify your features that sometiems show the upgrades you are eligible for so you may be able to do it without human interaction those are my favorite kinds of transactions lol
  15. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. If you think braid is noisy then try flyfishing, it is inherently more noisy that conventional in my opinion when you are throwing the heavier weighted rods and flies.
  16. There was a thread about this not to long ago....anyways my recommendation is a cash back rewards card. I am currently using the Capital One Quicksilver card as it is 1.5% back on everything and i can get a check, donate to charity or have it applied to the balance on the card. American Express also has a decent rewards card called blue or something that is worth checking into. I personally stay away from any store branded cards as they usually limit their use of the rewards to their stores. I know on mine i use it to pay for daycare each month and gas in the Jeep and I am always shocked at how quickly it adds up....
  17. Gun/ammo manufacturers are the biggest fans and love the controversy the pro gun or anti gun crowd elicits as it inevitably spikes their sales....
  18. If they rub now and you want to go wider it is going to be worse. I am not a big truck guy but i see the same problems with jeeps and the only way to truly solve it is to get new wheels and tires with the appropriate backspacing or use wheel spacers (I am not a fan although many are).
  19. Enforcement isn't really the issue if people adhere to the rules but sadly in my experience it isn't the case. Many of the lakes I fish that are restricted are either to small to have big boats in them or they are used for water supplies. I know one of the lakes i fish regularly has an electric only policy and you are supposed to disconnect your fuel line but the majorty of people have an electric only set up for these types of lakes and some of them are pretty slick with full on electric outboards.
  20. 7' m or ml power with a fast action should do you nicely. I have a 7'1"MF St Croix rage and it is my all around spinning set up for the uses you described...i also fished the 7' MF mojo and used to for the same purposes and it did quite nicely. I think in the mojo line up their spinning rods are pretty good, especially the one i mentioned and the 6'8" MXF
  21. Living in the same area as Sam i agree with what he says. There are more HP restricted or electric only lakes around than not and being a kayak angler, I like it that way I have also seen people using motors larger than the 9.9hp restriction on more than one occasion.
  22. I have owned three Jeeps in my lifetime. One 72 wagoneer, a 95 wrangler and now a 4 door 2012 wrangler. All three have been very good vehicles to me and while like any vehicle they have their problems the beauty of a jeep is the aftermarket and working on the older jeeps, up to about 2007, is extremely easy. I will always have a jeep because there is not a better off road vehicle straight off the shelf out there. And the newer models have way more creature comforts than i am used to that is for sure but i am not complaining.
  23. I usually go with two rods on smallmouth excursions. One is 9' and the other is 7'11"....of course they are fly rods
  24. I use the lower ratio reels for cranking everything except square bills. I have one of the BPS pro qualifiers in i think 4something to 1 ratio and it works great. I always find it is easier to reel faster when needed rather than reel slower.
  25. you know jeeps do come with tops, right? And this one even comes with full hard doors and a hard top....it will do fine in the cold weather
