I am sorry but everything you just described is contradicting itself...Flex further down the blank means moderate action but if it flexes the top third it makes it fast but if it is parabloci it is moderate fast? All rod bending is parabloic in nature but where the flex occurs is how i understand action to be determined. Also the power of a rod has nothing to do with the action of a rod in my opinon. I guess i can see if a rod is called moderate fast meaning it flexes more towards the bottom than a fast but not truly to the reel seat like a moderate action rod but that nomenclature just seems misleading to me. I guess if they put the rating as moderate/fast that would lead me to believe it is between the two ratings. I have a kistler helium canking rod fro ma few years ago and that is a moderate action rod that does nicely. Now in the fly rod world i can say the action of a rod is definitely more important andmore complicated all at the same time due to the huge differences in length, line weights etc...

Semi-off topic but how can a rod be both moderate and fast at the same time? Isn't the flex of the rod being more parabolic determine that it is moderate and flex more towards the tip indicative of a fast action?

i will be the first to admit i didn't hink the seahawks would win let alone in this fashion. The refs let them play and that came into the favor of hte physical players on the seahawks defense. The broncos defens actually did a pretty good job keeping lynch bottled up but they had no answer to the seattle defensive schemes. As always with Eagles fans, like i am, i can hope for next year....and of course we get to play seattle but at least it is at home. Congrats to all the seahawks fans and Sherman is high up on my list of favorite players not wearing an Eagles uniform

i have fished the sunbury to harrisburg areas quie a few times and i can say to be careful out there if the water is low.......it has been known to take a few boats prisoners from the hidden ledges

I am the same way....i can save the money myself and make more off of it in a 1% interest bearing account than i can by giving it up and getting nothing in return.

I guess I don't see that as a disturbing conversation. I mean it is about knowledge and familiarity. Much like if i talk to someone about fly fishing the majority of people have no clue other than what they saw on a river runs through it or the orvis catalog. Now granted the perception of fly fishing doesn't bring about fear but the concept is the same. Education is your friend.

I would also think that even with the smooth version of the rhino lining it would still add a good bit of drag to the boat as well.

I wouldn't do it. I have been kayak fishing for about 3-4 seasons now and my river boat, Jackson Coosa, has scratches and gouges but nothing to worry about. It would take a pretty catastrophic hit to puncture a kayak or scratch it to the point of having to replace it or causing a leak. Remember, whitewater kayaks use the same process for their boats and go through way more abuse than any fishing kayak and rarely do they fail. And just to be clear, i do not baby my boats and very often use rocks to hold my in position while on the river and don't hesitate to go over ledges and the like. For a flat water boat i definitely think it would be overkill. I would also guess that the added weight would change the dynamics of the boat.

A lot of these places are in essence custom boat builders....you might get a better response with a phone call

I read something about the whole moonshine thing and basically video and not knowing where it is or when it happened is what stops them from prosecuting but it doesn't stop them from keeping an eye on them. I know when moonshiners first came out there was a big thing with the VA ABC board and why they couldn't catch the guys and if it was fake, etc.....they said no it was real and if they could catch them they would.

Hillbilly blood is entertaining but there is no way the one dude is as hillbilly as he claims....The dude Eugene tlaks in some pretty technical terms and uses Celsius very often when referring to temperature. I am not sure about everyone else but that is not something that is normal around here unless you are in teh scientific community. He also uses some pretty involved scientific principles which isn't a big deal but understanding all of the info behind them and why they work is what makes me wonder. I like the show and find it entertaining but i am led ot believe that this lifestyle is a choice after receiving some sort of formal education and experience elsewhere.

Accuracy and stealth trumps distance in most situations in my book. As far as distance goes, i have measured my casts and can get 50 yards pretty easily but rarely do unless i am chucking it hard when throwing cranks or swim baits.

I wasn't as clear as i could have been, it isn't a lob as much as it is allowing the rod to load properly which is a little slower rather than your classic flick it out there.

you are neglecting the expense of manufacturing the rod may, and probably is, significantly lower as well which would make the profit much higher.

I am not sure i agree about the casting part. I can really launch on my composite rod but it is a different type of cast as you have to allow the rod to load which takes a little more time than on a tip flex or faster action rod. It reminds me more of chucking a rig that is heavy out there for catfish, more of a heave or lob but it will definitely go a long ways.

like i said, it is a decent chicken sandwich but not worth waiting that long for...i do like the pickle on there though

There is something that draws people to chick fila....i mean they make a good chicken sandwich no doubt but i always see a line of about 15-20 cars in their drive through when i drive by. I am not waiting that long for any sandwich unless it is a cheesesteak. And McDonalds is horrible......

That makes sense then....so really it is people not being able to drive in a little snow and when there is an accident there just isn't the infrastructure to handle it because, well, it doesn't happen

Maybe i am confused but how do people get stuck on the interstate? how much snow did they get? Is it just because they aren't used to the snow? growing up around snow i have a tough time understanding it i guess.... and 300 to tow i those conditions seems reasonable to me.....every time i got towed parking in the wrong spot downtown i was charged around that amount to get my car back and that wasn't even in bad conditions.

To me the material isn;t as critical as the action being moderate but mine is a composite Kistler helium micro guide and i like it when paired up with braid. I definitely keep more fish buttoned up with this set up than i did with a standard MF rod with mono.

If you see a boat out in the middle of the lake fishing with nothing visible around it is Nitro---he isn't broken down or anything
