  1. Yeah i take what he says as pretty much worthless. He has been caught lying so many times there is nothing that he says i find to be valid....much like Braun.
  2. Clemens yes A rod....i don't know because he was dirty in texas and then with the yankees so i find it hard to believe he didn't in seattle too.
  3. I like a M XF in the 6'8"-7' range for my jerk bait fishing, I fish soft jerk baits more often than the hard ones but i use the same rod for both presentations with good success.
  4. Height comes in to play but more for taller fold and it is in regards to cockpit size. Given your height pretty much any kayak will be totally fine. As far as in that price range you have to remember that you also will need a good PFD and a paddle so adjust your budget accordingly. I would say take a look at used boats on craigslist as there are always good boats for sale at good prices. As far as which one, you need to give a little more info like What type of water? How are you transporting? Sit in side or a sit on top? Those three questions are pretty key in figuring out what length and type and after that it is all about features....
  5. I totally agree that parents should be role models and for the most part they are but if you are trying to be an athlete yo hare going to look up to those players unless of course your dad played pro ball. It's a tough one for sure and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out because so far, the majority of the rood era people are not getting nearly the amount of votes. Bonds is a tricky one though because he has never been proven to be dirty but all indications are that he was...which is sad because he was truly HOF worthy prior to this whole PED explosion.
  6. I see that side of the equation but to me if you are a confirmed cheater then you shouldn't be in. There are a lot of people who think the HOF is a representation of the league and these players should be included but i for one don't feel they deserve it, especially repeat offenders after the ban was in place, like for a guy like A-rod. And technically while it wasn't rested for it was still illegal
  7. I have heard and read that arbitration based decisions are hard to overturn, basically the courts feel like it is a waste of their time. You are right though, it seems like a lot of back and forth but i have no clue about the hard evidence but it must be pretty good to hand out this type of suspension. I hope he retires and then when he is eligible for the hall of fame he doesn't get the required votes to be on the ballot the next year and we never see him again....it just burns me up that he was caught, then went around and talked to kids about not doing PEDs and was using at the same time and lying about it, again....
  8. Problem is you can't really go to a regular court because all kinds of anti-trust laws and the like are broken but that is where the union and the MLBPAA comes in to play. I am not sure what other recourse they have since the suspension has already been reduced once but i guess you never know. I think this penalty/suspension is so extreme not only because of what he did but also because he hindered the investigation and managed to skirt punishment many many times. Not to mention the black eye he put on the sport with all his straight out lying, apologizing....rinse and repeat. I do think you are right though, why wouldn't he play. As long as he is not retired he will get his money.
  9. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/arbitrator-rules-alex-rodriguez-to-be-suspended-for-2014-season?ymd=20140109&content_id=66433260&vkey=news_mlb You know the Yankees are happy to not have to pay the salary....now the question is given his age is in reality a lifetime ban??
  10. You are right although I haven't seen a difference in quality between the rods I checked out which was another reason I went with the cheaper rage.
  11. I am smack dab in the middle of the state so i have no preference other than it being semi kayak friendly. I usually don't fish bigger water with bigger boats but that by no means i won't it is more a product of where i am now there is a plethora of rivers and electric only lakes to fish.
  12. You are thinking November...24-5 and in december i think it is 13-20. He also has had the chance the past three seasons to win the division on the last week of the season and has come up short each time.
  13. 27" length fish should be pushing double digits even being skinny.
  14. Very true...I don't keep rods that long usually, except my fly rods and they all have lifetime warranties
  15. I thought this thread was going to go in a totally different direction.....
  16. I understood it...difference is Luck is winning. Something Romo can't do after thanksgiving
  17. If the timing is right and I am able to attend, i will be kayaking it so no worries for me about not having enough boats...I may even have a second one for someone to borrow depending on how nice my bonus is this year
  18. The other question is will that same boat be set up for your style of fishing once you get to WA as opposed to VA? I haven't fished out there so i have no idea what the water is like but you may get out there and realize that the set up isn't what you want and the value of the boat isn't as high as it would be in VA because it is set up to fish here.
  19. i use high vis braid and haven't seen any difference in catch rate to when i didn't. It is probably the combination of a new set up and the lack of confidence in the bright braid. Just get a sharpie, color the last 6 feet or so and go out and see what happens.
  20. Luck already has the same amount of playoff wins as romo in 2 seasons and is 1-1 and Romo is 1-3 i think in ten seasons....comparing those two is silly.
  21. Saints, 49ers, Patriots & Chargers
  22. my picks would vary depending on how much money is involved
  23. So it sounds to me like this club was established because someone wanted to do their own rules or were getting beat by the non-boater. Personally, i would look elsewhere because it doesn't sound like a fun club to be in. I also think that if you know the rules, make your suggestions and people don't buy into them it is time to leave.
  24. Alton Jones
  25. yes the set up of an inflatable will be more of a pain. You have to inflate and deflate and then you ale have to make sure when you get home you let it air out and dry so it doesn't get mildew. Once you are used to car topping and tying it down, it will take you longer to out your gear back in the car than it will to load up the boat.
