  1. Chip Kelly has said all season that he could care less about controlling the clock. Early in the season it seemed like he would try and take up more time in the second half or after getting a lead and it would let the other team back in it. Once he figured out that he was better off just keeping the gas pedal down things were going much ore smoothly. I do agree that the defense needs to show up but with as poor as a defense as Dallas has the Eagles offense should be able to outscore Dallas even if the defense lets up 30 points. If Dallas was smart they would run Murray 30-35 times and try and keep the ball away from Foles, Jackson and McCoy as much as possible. Definitely looking forward to the game....
  2. check your stats and they lost 17-3. The Eagles secondary and defense will always have lots of yards against them because of the disparity in the time of possession and because the majority of times teams are playing from behind and the Eagles are in the prevent defense. Their defense has done very well as of late and playing new orleans at home in colder weather doesn't concern me....mainly because they have to win this week first against dallas.
  3. Looks like it turned out real good!! Now next time trim that fat cap and you get that much more bark which is my favorite part
  4. No use arguing but to say that the Cowboys are only slightly worse than the Eagles is kind of silly really when you look at the historically bad defense they have and the offense of the Eagles is way better than that of the cowboys, especially considering it is an all new system and a new QB. Guess we will see what happens on Sunday though....
  5. You had me all up until the Philly sucks comment. Other than their one game flop against Minnesota the defense has been aging really well and I don't think had let up over 21 points since the Denver game back in week 4. The offense is clicking and I really don't think anyone wants to try and stop their offense. They are also peaking at the right time.
  6. Nothing fishing related but i did get a 22 1/2"Weber Smokey Mountain cooker :)
  7. So how did it turn out??? and I must have been good this year because Santa got me Weber 22 1/2" Smokey Mountain Cooker so I finally have a dedicated smoker and can take the Weber kettle grill back to grill only status.
  8. a lot of people use a bed of duct seal with good success and is easily removable or adjusted should you get an air bubble in the installation process.
  9. I just did a pork butt this past weekend. I trim all visible fat off the meat. There is plenty of internal fat that will keep the meat moist and that same reason is why i don't bother to brine. I also rub mine down with canola oil as many spices are fat soluble and if you just put them on they won't get into the flavor of the meat but rather just be on the outside. I also inject mine with a 50/50 mixture of apple cider vinegar and raw apple juice mixed with whatever rub i have left over. As far as rub goes i use a bunch of stuff in mine and honestly it changes every time depending on my mood. One thing to remember is if you are wanting spice you need to use a lot of cayenne because as it cooks it will mellow out considerably. I also use cumin and chipotle powder in all my rubs as it gives it a different flavor. My usual mix includes: brown sugar garlic powder cayenne smoke paprika onion powder coarse salt cumin chipotle powder I prefer using fruit woods like apple and peach. Mesquite just doesn't work for me and pork but it does do well when cooking brisket. I will also agree with the others that really only the first few hours matter as far as smoke goes and after that it is more of an oven. I have used the finish in the oven method once and the results weren't the same so i now stick to the smoker the entire time. I like to pull mine off the smoker once it gets to 180-185 and if i didn't wrap it already i wrap it super tight and let it rest for at least 45 minutes and the carryover heat will get it up to probably 190-195 which to me, is the best for pulling. Bottom line is it will turn out fine and as you can see there as many opinions on what you should and shouldn't do and what works and what doesn't. Just keep it low and slow and if you make changes, only do one at a time so you know what the impact is to the overall product. Good luck and post up some pics during the process. I have two racks of ribs on the smoker right now
  10. McCoy goes off against anyone in the league or at least he has so far.
  11. Overall i have few complaints but i cannot stand people in power boats thinking they own the water when i am in my kayak and they start fishing close enough that i can cast and hit them....not saying i would/have tried to do that or anything....
  12. Lee has been listed as out this week too.... I bet a lot of people are glad they put their bets in when the line was dallas giving 2.5 early yesterday....last i checked Eagles are giving 5.5
  13. Not only do i target the same spot i also then use the details of that same spot to find other spots like it on the same body of water and usually they produce as well.
  14. yeah surface scratches are nothing to worry about and are normal. I know i have a few that are more in the deep scratch category and have no concerns. As far as being heavy goes with stability on a SOT you will get weight, it is just part of the deal. I would take the additional weight for stability any day and i did when i had my coosa...that thing was no lightweight.
  15. I feel you brother. I lost my one nana around Christmas my senior year of high school and the other one just a few years ago. Every Christmas i remember how she used to come over and help my mom wrap presents on Christmas Eve and inevitably she would always mess up the tag on one and i would get something that was supposed to be for my sister. She may have done it on purpose knowing her but i will never forget how she used to write my name on the presents. It is always tough that she is gone and i wish she was here to meet her great grandson but i know she is looking down and smiling
  16. i would say more of a one game anomaly there...they won 5 straight before that and then blew out the bears. The offense has been clicking for 7 weeks and the defense had true one lapse against the paltry vikings. Still looking forward to sunday even without Romo.
  17. I think the saying goes you spend the first year of a child's life wanting and teaching them to talk and the next 17 telling them to shut up
  18. i don't know if i classify getting newer gear as a standard or a goal though. I see a standard or goal as something you are in control over and can make improvements to try to achieve. Anyone with a credit card or expendable income can get expensive gear.
  19. Carolina is scary good......Romo looked average against a horrible defense. I did expect a little more from Chicago but I am not complaining one bit. I'll be the first to admit that I was very skeptical of the Eagles this year with new coaches, new schemes on both offense and defense but they are coming together at the right time. I cannot wait to watch the game next sunday night!!
  20. No such thing as to high of standards. If you are reaching your goals/standards every time out then you need to readjust your goals.
  21. My buddy told me his grandfather used to tell him that you can only catch fish if you hold your mouth right.......and by the right way he meant closed
  22. I was shocked to see Seattle lose and bad time to lose one at home....shoudl be exciting the next few weeks. I just hope the Eagles are playing two weeks from now.
  23. Big game next week and felxed to Sunday night....again. I am not worried in teh slightest abotu hte Eagles offense as they have been putting up points for well over half the season now. The defense has been playing very well with the exception of the minnesota implosion. THe defensive pays like htey did last night and next game should be a good one. I just hope the refs can let the guys play and not take their normal pro-Dallas stance
  24. Stitching makes fishing a senko look like power fishing.... I didn't get out nearly as much as i would have liked but i had some success with the jig and bottom bouncers which was something i wanted to work on this year.
  25. same ones as all season, well after Foles came in, with the exception of last week.....I am still mad about the skins blowing the sure win
