  1. I think everyone is forgetting in the whole kapernick highlights is that before he was injured i believe Alex smith was the highest rated QB in the league. I wish the walrus well and don't forget that last season many experts picked the chiefs to win the division..........the talent is there. I jsut hope Reid doesn't try and make Jamal Charles a west coast back because he isn't one at all.
  2. Forget the bass.....Get a fly rod and fish some of the best and most historic spring creeks in the country instead. Way more challenging than bass fishing and you never need a boat
  3. Probably because i doubt you frequent shoe and purse message boards, or maybe you do and want to keep it on the down low I have seen them on craigslist though.....she moved out you win-have no clue what this stuff is but no reasonable offer denied.....
  4. Every slot limit i have seen is by length as scales are not always accurate but rulers are pretty good. Saltwater it seems like slot limits are you can keep a fish in a particular range where all the freshwater slots i have seen are the opposite and usually to manage trophy fisheries. One lake i fish has a slot limit that any fish between 16"-24" must be released but outside of that limit can be kept.
  5. Kansas City will trade its second-round pick in the 2013 draft -- the second selection (No. 34 overall) in the round -- as well as another conditional mid-round pick in 2014 to acquire Smith from San Francisco, a league source told ESPN.
  6. Just got the alert on my phone....he is an Andy reid type of QB and even though, as an eagles fan, i was sad to see the Walrus move on i know it was time and i would bet the chiefs challenge for the division if not win it next year.
  7. I haven't fished the juniata but i would fish the susky any day that i can. Yeah the numbers aren't the same as they were 15 years ago but in the 4-5 trips i make out there every year i always catch at least one 18"+ smallie. One trip i caught 12 fish on the first day of my 4 day float and not one fish was under 16". I love that river, just wish it was closer.
  8. I like hi vis for any bottom contact or weightless applications. I also don't use a leader and color the last 4-6 feet with a sharpie. To me the fish i catch by being able to see the line outweighs the fish i may miss with a less visible line. For any other type of application, frogs, spinnerbaits etc....i just whatever tickles my fancy at the time i buy it. Currently i am using the PP super slick in brown and the aqua green colors.
  9. The Coosa is a good boat but i would not recommend it if you are primarliy fishing flatwater. I own one and love it for the higher seat position and for moving water but in lakes it is not the best suited option in my opinion. It does not handle wind real well and if you are paddling long distances it can be a chore. Now if you are lookign for a good river boat the coosa, slayer or ride 115 are all good options to consider.
  10. wow...good find there. Hopefully the stuff you bought doesn't have any bad mojo associated with it
  11. Seat time is key and make sure that when looking at prices you consider the additional price of paddles and a life jacket. I would also caution against doing any rigging until you fish out of the boat for a while and learn what and where you want things mounted. I personally have a WIldy Commander 120 for all my flatwater fishing and rigging is pretty easy since they have the slidetrax on the side and top of the boat.
  12. On the whole financing thing....i was at bass pro and of course looking over the boats and saw the ridiculously low payments they posted on the signs and of course i had to read the fine print and they were on a 144 month payment plan, Even if you put 10-15% down wouldn't you pretty much have an LTV way above 100% pretty much as soon as you drive away and for the next 5 years. The sad part is i heard the sales people doing their schtick and suckering people in who the first thing they said was i can afford those payments each month.....I do admit i loved it when i sold cars and someone said well i can only go this price for my payments. It was pretty much a done deal then.
  13. The one here in the richmond area did the same thing except they didn't even make me buy the reels, they just rang it up and then used the reel trade in coupon all in one transaction. Worked out pretty well on my BPS PQ purchase.... I hope i enjoy the reel as much as everyone else. I bought the 4.7:1 ratio for cranking that is matched up on a kistler helium micro guide 7' cranking rod. Hopefully i can get out this weekend and try it out.
  14. All great points but some cards will not allow you to "pre-pay" prior to a purchase. Usually it is only a certain percentage above the balance.
  15. hard to say if it is a hoax or not but you also have to remember a lot of guys who are big fish hunters are a different breed. I like to catch big fish but don't target them exclusively, mainly because ia m not sure my ego can take it I have been pretty focused before on catching a few specific fish that i have lost or saw and i will literally camp at a spot for a day and wait for the big girl to feed and hope i am in the right spot at the right time. Bottom line is who cares as long as it isn't the state record or anything fish stories are part of the business and if he gets his rocks off by trying to decieve everyone else in the fishing community then he has more problems than lying abotu a few fish to deal with.....
  16. There is no way to know what that specific boat weighs from a picture. If yo uare really that concerned with teh weight then load it up in your truck with all your gear that you would be using and go to a truck stop or soemthing that can weigh your vehicle. Weigh the vehicle, take out all your stuff and the difference is your boat weight. There should also be a USCG tag I believe that may have some of the other information you are looking for.
  17. Never have but you could always just put a small piece of electrical tape on there too that would last for a while without marking up your precious Loomis....lol
  18. I prefer the paperless statements for everything myself. If you are concerned with not having a record jsut print it out or save as a PDF and store on your computer somewhere. Paperless statements are also much more secure in that anyone can grab your mail pretty easily where it is much more difficult to steal someone's login credentials. One thign to look at when logging in is the last sign on date as it can indicate if your online banking may be compromised but keep in mind certain financial software systems, quicken, money, mint etc... may log in to gather information. I also haven't found a need to go back more than a year max for any financial statement but your results may vary.
  19. 4/0 or 5/0 screw lock weghtless gamakatsu or trokar. I find less damage to the frog when using screw locks then standard weedless rigging and it is easier to rig straight.
  20. Good clarification on APR making a difference if the balance isn't paid in full. Are you a student? If so there are a lot of good student cards out there. Another good option is to join a local credit union and get one of their cards as they are usually very flexible on terms and increasing credit limits as you earn the privelege.
  21. Nice boats everyone. I don't think I have one pic of my yak......to anxious to get out instead of snapping pics I guess. Besides mine is pretty boring compared to everyone else's on here.....a few rods a crate anchor trolley and that's about it.
  22. And to clear things up credit builds if you pay your balance every month. It is a common myth that you have to carry a small balance to build credit.
  23. First off APR does not matter if you pay off the bill every month. Second the number of credit cards you have is somewhat irrelevant to your credit score as it is credit utilization that affects your score. Low limit credit cards will not help, your score but they won't necessarily hurt it either. The main things that compose your credit score are 1-credit utilization 2-average age of accounts 3-payment history. There are other things to but none have as large an impact on your score. If you pay off your balance each month you will begin to build a credit history. Certain loans are also looked upon more highly than others when paid on time such as a mortgage or student loans. Bottom line is credit is a tool to use but not a tool to depend on. I currently have no credit card debt and only have my student loans to finish paying off but I had upwards of 15k in credit card debt from stupid decisions but decisions that helped me shape my financial outlook for the better.
  24. Depends what I am targeting. If I want my smallmouth fix I hit the local rivers if greenies are what I am after then lakes and if I am looking for scenery and solitude its time to hit the blue lines and go after brookies. They all serve their purpose depending on my mood but nothing beats an all day float chasing smallmouth.
