Good perspective. I could see more of having specific awards for each kid. Maybe best hitter, best fielder, best thrower, best slider etc....might be a better approach than just saying you participated here's a trophy.

So now that CC made the hall of fame, and well deserved in my mind, what does that say about driver's chances? I was comparing the two stat lines and I am thinking if it took CC 6 years to get in there is no way driver makes it.

Can you elaborate on why tungsten is better? I was going through my gear and need some new weights and was thinking about getting tungsten as a replacement for lead.

What a dumb comment and has nothing to do with the original question but rather than make this political and break forum rules I will let it go. I hate that everyone gets a trophy. Bottom line is some people are better than you and you will never be the best every night. I am all about winning and have even thrown away trophies for 2nd or 3rd place in hoop it up tournaments. I am by no means a bad sport but to reward kids for trying is silly. Their reward is getting to play on the team and learn from players better than you are. I was an education director at a boys and girls club for about 8 years and we would all play basketball and other sports. I never let a kid win and you know what, they tried harder and when they would beat me in a game of PIG or HORSE it actually meant something to them because they earned it. Not everyone is athletic just like not everyone is book smart and not everyone can build a house. Everyone has talents and the only way to know is to try and fail and move on. And while on the topic, what is with parents letting their kids quit mid season because they don't like it or aren't having fun. Total crap to me. You start a season you finish unless your grades aren't good.

I checked them out today and they look cool and I will pick up a few for this next season. As far as the captain ken's frogs go they are not as light as you think. I have a few and they cast just fine with your standard frogging set ups. They are foam but weighted and float nicely. I am just not to keen on the hook system and I have had two break the wire used to hold the hook. I do change up and use a seedless khale hook instead of the gimmicky rubber bands and it does work better. The one thing I do really like about the kens frog is that it floats really high on the water so making it sit in open pockets of grass or Lilly pads is easy.

I would have to say braid. It opened my eyes to increased sensitivity and more fish.

Nose hooked stick baits flat out produce.

I like the money minnow but prefer the 5" size. Both give a good thump when retrieved slow.

Quantum baitcaster I think it was a bill dance special or some crap. That thing was total junk.

Shin splints are horrible. Usually it is from ill fitting shoes or from using those squishy insoles. You need support in your shoes not cushion. I prefer superfeet brand insoles. Yeah they are uncomfortable at first but once your foot gets accustomed to the support you will be pleasantly surprised. I use them in all my outdoor shoes from hiking, running and cycling shoes with great success.

I am planning on coming up for at least one day maybe more depending on what is going on. We are still trying to figure out vacation plans and stuff I am hoping to be able to come up and fish on Friday and Saturday.

100 anglers is way to many. If you are doing a charity event you want this to be fun and not something that people say yeah I won't be doing that again. If people are elbow to elbow nobody will have a good time.

I have used my rage rods for about 7 trips and haven't noticed any wear. I think they are noisier because in essence the guide is acting like a string on a violin as the line is pulled through it creates some sound. I noticed it on my first trip using the rods but after 2 or 3 trips I don't even notice it anymore.

I would also agree that the 6'8" MXF Mojo is the best rod in the mojo ineup. I also have a veritas in 7mf and it is a good rod too but for finesse applications it feels a little heavier so maybe a ml would be a better choice.

Since i am trying to keep my food somewhat healthy i am going with some chili with extra lean beef or turkey. Other than that, i haven't figured it out yet.

a 75 acre lake with 20-30 boats is a lot of boats. Now if you are talking 15 boats with 2 to a boat that is still quite a bit but more doable. I fish quite a few lakes in that size range and if i see more than 4 cars in the parking lot when i get there i usually go elsewhere. From the bank i would think if there is good shoreline access 20-30 wouldn't be a problem but keep in mind that boaters and shore people will probably want to fish some of the same structure which could cause some problems.

Most times you need some sort of proof of ownership and buying on a credit card or at basspro they may be able to show proof that you bought a particular item that was lost in the accident. I know when my road and mountain bikes were stolen and i filed a claim with my renter's insurance they wanted proof of ownership. Luckily i had some pictures of me using the bike and when i opened the policy i took pictures of everything of value so in case something happened i would be prepared. Makes me think that i should probably go take some pictures this weekend of all my stuff just in case something happens.

I am about a week in and feeling good. I am sore but that is a good thing!! I have done this routine before so i have modified it somewhat. I am doing my own ab routine as theirs hurts my lower back to much and i am changing up the plyometrics and yoga days to do my own cardio. I am also training to do the MS150 charity bike ride here in richmond so i need to make sure i am ready for that too. I'll keep everyone posted on my results as i move along.

I have heard this too but cannot confirm. The red lips/throat area to me seems to be more seasonal than anything. On a lake i frequent i have seen the red mouth but only when water temperatures drop into the mid to low 40's and below.

Driver was above average no doubt but i also think he was a standard compiler. Above average for a long time who ends up getting good numbers. To me there is something to be said about having a long career but i would have to say during his entire career he was no more than the best 3rd or 4th receiver in the league. I do totally agree that Reed should be in the HOF without a doubt.
