  1. Yeah I have seen my fair share of accidents too. I remember seeing a guy up on a 30ft ladder get an arc to his chest. I could see it from the ground and it was probably a good 3 foot jump. He obviously fell and the docs said the only reason he lived was when he hit the ground it jolted his heart and it got back to pumping, scary stuff. And the same stuff you see on the job site I see in corporate America too.....people just graduating college with a business degree but no experience who know how to do everything. Luckily in my line of work I can let them fail and learn with no real ramifications, on the job site that is rarely the case.
  2. I had a rapala scale and it was far from accurate. It then decided to make a home at the bottom of the lake....I am going to get a boga grip to be able to help land the toothy critters and fish with trebles all over the place and give me an accurate weight at the same time. Being I fish in a kayak I try and keep things simple and since I have a set of lip grippers but no scale so without adding anything else to my yak I can kill two birds with one stone.
  3. I agree with almost everything except the part where you say you have to earn your pay implying people who don't work physical jobs don't do so. I did construction work through high school and summers in college as well as working for my dad who owned his own electrical contracting company. So I see your point of physically earning your paycheck but mentally earning one can be more taxing then physical. I am currently a process engineer at a major bank and while I work in an office I am just as tired as when I did roofing. Yeah my back isn't sore or my feet hurt but I can come home and be mentally exhausted after a long day. This is probably going to come across wrong and I am by no means ripping anyone's occupation but analyzing data and having to make decisions on company wide processes which could potentially impact 100's of people's jobs is worse than performing construction or other types of trade work in my mind. There are plenty of times I tell myself I wish I could just go back where someone said I want siding, windows and a new roof on my house and I would work with a few guys on my crew and just do it. Nothing really to worry about when I got home, unless there was rain in the forecast and we didn't tarp up a house where now I go home check emails and constantly wonder if the decisions I am making and proposing to senior management is the right call for the business and also for the potentially impacted associates. Bottom line is trades will not go away because you can't outsource when your HVAC goes out or you want a new deck but there is also a mentality shift that needs to happen because there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a plumber, electrician, carpenter, mechanic etc....hell my dad put me and my 3 siblings through private school and 3 of us graduated college and 2 have post grad degrees all while he dropped out in the 9th grade and got his GED but he instilled a work ethic that has translated to my corporate world as I went from a call center rep and 4 promotions later to my current role in 7 years.
  4. Lasagna for breakfast is a favorite of mine.....usually because I cook up a pan and don't eat it that night cause it is always better the next day but I can rarely wait till dinner time. .
  5. Or it will create more jobs because someone needs to build and repair them. I don't see it happening though. I did work in a warehouse for a few months that had all of the forklifts basically run on electric tracks in the concrete floor so all we had to do was use the gas and brake pretty much. You didn't have more than about a foot on each side of you and apparently it enabled them to almost double the usable space.
  6. French toast sounds good.....I haven't made that in a looooong time.
  7. Yeah I have read that too. I have also read that nobody is real sure how they will affect the overall population of bass. I have also heard of people catching a LM and a SH off the same tree. I guess the big question will be how much of the young fish the snakehead eat and remove from the overall ecosystem. It is funny though because pretty much every game fish was invasive at one time or another.
  8. I am on a breakfast burrito kick here lately myself. Eggs, pepper jack, peppers, onions and some ham or sausage or whatever meat I have in the fridge. I made them with some brisket I smoked and that junk was delicious
  9. What were you looking for? I am gonna go check it out tomorrow morning and see what happens. I'll probably throw the fly rod in the car and if I am not finding anything worthwhile ill head to the mountains and catch some trout.
  10. I have also heard snakehead is a great eating fish and that is the reason it was brought here, to eat.
  11. I think ia m gonna give the 15lb a try on one set up and see how it goes and if it increases my catch rate. Thanks for all the advice guys.
  12. I have had directvfor at least 5 years now and i have no complaints. i think the big thing for me when making my decision was the availability of the NFL ticket and other sports packages. To me, directv wins hand down in that battle so that is who i go with. I also bought all my receivers so i don't have a lease fee and i am not sure why people are saying they would be charged $600 for a DVR receiver or set up unless that was to run a new line or something. Luckily that is something i have always done myself so no added cost to me.
  13. I am not even sure if a bass could tell via lactic acid if a baitfish was stressed since, as was stated, it is in the muscle tissue itself. Bass don't really chew their food per se so it is not like they would be tasting the muscle fibers and making a decision on whether to continue or not. Definitely an interesting idea though....
  14. So as i am looking at relining my gear fro the upcoming season i am debating on going down to 4lb diameter (15lb test) braid on my spinning setups down from the 6lb diameter (20lb test) i am currently using. Other than less abrasion resistance and additional line needed does anyone else run this size line on their 2500 series sized reels? I am thinking 15lb test is plenty strong and smaller line is always better in my mind. I also rarely if ever use a leader. Thanks
  15. Atlanta has a pretty good outfield now as long as Heyward gets a little better defensively. NL east is going to be pretty solid with the exception of the marlins.
  16. My son is 2 1/2 and he is all about team umizoomi and little einsteins. He also watches a lot of Dora and Diego and has actually started talking Spanish at times.....arriba up, abajo down I speak Spanish and English too......lol
  17. They will be selling pretty much everything you would need from a boat down to baits. I went last year and i didn't think the prices were that great but i may have missed some deals somewhere. I like that you can see the pros, go to seminars and see pretty much every bait/rod/reel that you see online etc...in one place. Pretty cool set up and worth the few bucks for admission.
  18. I haven't been to spring training yet but i ahve always heard it's a lot of fun. I may surprise my fiancee with some tickets and head down there for a long weekend. It is amazingly cheap to fly to florida from Richmond.
  19. Good luck with the stomach bug.....i think i am out of the woods after it hitting me on monday around midnight. I didn't eat my first meal till yesterday evening.
  20. I am wanting to get out there someday too.....
  21. Reminds me of a clown pattern that I like on my rapala x-raps
  22. They still do and they produce a very nice calendar as well
  23. I may be argumentative but only when I don't agree
  24. Must have been my charm and intellect we stay in touch to an extent but obviously my fiancée isn't to keen on it all
  25. I am used to that though if I didn't have a place to go visit and get a cheesesteak I would be in trouble
